used to accomplish the purchase on craigslist.
Apple cannot/will not give you the information about any previous
owner(s) of the iPhone.
When/if you do contact them, here is what the previous owner needs
to do:
Backup the device to iTunes or iCloud, if desired: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766
Settings > Messages > iMessage > Off
Settings > FaceTime > Off
Settings > iCloud > Delete Account (this only unregisters and deletes it off the iPhone)
Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings

If you are having problems you need to take it back to where you purchased it.

upload the file to Acrobat.com
check the file on the Acrobat.com site and click Send

I found an Ipod Shuffle and I called Apple Support desk to return it to the rightfull owner. I offered them to send my contact details to the owner. And then the owner can contact me if he likes. They refused to do this as it is a privacy issue. They advised me to bring it to the local police who can send the request to a special e-mail address of Apple. The problem is I want to download the app squareup.com for my iPhone There are two problems. One, I can't find the ios. Squareup.com app requires 6.0
When I go into Settings/About the phone, I find firmware, but nothing that says ios.
Secondly there is an Apple sign in problem when the squareup.com app is actually installing. The phone tells me that my email address is my domain name which is forwarded to my actual email inbox. I tried changing my apple id on computer to the domain name but it will not accept it. I then would have to change the email address that seems to be prevalent on the phone, in order to login and download the app for squareup.com/ I need help with getting the domain name off the phone and entering the actual email address for the gmail inbox, that I created when signed up for the gmail account.
