How do i find the airplay icon on my ipad.

I have the same network registered to the same network. Software is the latest on both IPAD and Apple TV. I have a IPAD 3. I have tried youtube, safari, TV-play station and find no airplay icon nowhere. I double click on meny button and swipe accross the screen. Still no icon. I am frustrated, so give me a tip please....

AirPlay icon missing:
1. Reset the AirPlay devices
2. Reboot the router
3. Reboot the iPad

I can longer find the airplay icon on my iPad when I double click the home icon. It worked fine and i used it for a couple of weeks to mirror with the Apple TV and then it mysteriously disappeared. Now when I double click and slide the icons at the bottom to far left, instead of finding airplay there is an extra music icon and a music control panel. If I open up the music app, there is an airplay icon top right next to volume control which works fine with mirroring the Apple TV, which suggests to me wi-if and networks are fine. I can only mirror music however. Any ideas anyone?

Is your Apple TV "awake"? Sometimes the AirPlay icon won't show for me if the Apple TV is sleeping - pressing a key on the Apple remote ususally resolves it.

Both models of MacBook4.1 (13-inch Early and Mid 2008)
are considered Vintage when running Mavericks 10.9.2.
This means certain aspects of the hardware do not meet
system requirements for the software to run on them.
AirPlay, iCloud, and other things found varying support
or lack thereof, between Lion, Mt Lion, and Mavericks.
So it appears the Vintage stature affects yours this way.

I looked at that already. I've done everything it says: check to make sure wireless is working, make sure airplay is enabled, make sure device and apple tv are on the same network blah blah. The icon just isn't there. Unless I skipped a step. AirPlay works when I use it in the music app and in the video app, I jus can't get mirroring to work. I was looking at some other threads and mirroring doesn't seem to be working for a lot of people. Maybe I jus have to wait for an update =\

iCloud is not an application, so it does not appear on the Dock or Applications folder. Instead, you can manage iCloud settings in System Preferences > iCloud.
iCloud only appears as an application in Windows because of iCloud Control Panel

If you last used an Apple TV to mirror your device and have updated to the newest Apple TV software, go into settings and turn airplay back on. The icon should then appear on your iPad mini when you swipe up allowing you to disable it for Netflix. After updating my Apple TV software for some reason it turned airplay off.

Try to hook up your nano to your computer and choose the dialog box to update your software. The current version is 1.2 which allows distance to be calculated once you input your height (and weight).

I have a MacBook Pro Late 2011. Yes I am sure that it is Late 2011 because I looked up the serial number and the website says it is indeed MacBook Pro Late 2011. I just bought an Apple TV and I want to use Airplay but I CANNOT find the Airplay icon on the upper right menu bar. I updated my software and everything but I still dont see it! What Mac do you have? It needs to be at least 2011
OSX needs to be at least 10.8
Has nothing to do with Internet, you need to check your local network and also make sure both ATV and Mac are on the same network. Airplay should also be enabled on ATV
