How do I find the breakdown of GB's used in my "My Documents" folder?

My MacBook Pro has been running very slowly - I see the beach ball all the time. After looking through the topics I realized that it's because I have:
CAPACITY - 148.73GB
AVAILABILITY - 22.03GB
USED - 126.7GB
My my documents folder is currently using 103.98GB of that space and I think it's time to clear it out. My question is: am I able to see a breakdown of how that 103.98 is being used? AND am I able to find out what the other 22GB's is being used for?

Of course the first thing to do is just view the Documents folder sorted by size in list view.
If you want even more detail, you can download a helpful program called WhatSize.
FYI, though, if you have 22GB free space, that's almost certainly not why you're seeing the beach ball. There may instead be a rogue program or process that's running constantly and slowing down your machine.

1) save as psd for reverting later if needed
2) Click on the filter closest to the bottom in the history panel.
3) Choose the filter from the filter menu that was listed in the history panel
4)See what settings are there then click cancel
5)Repeat for the next filter up on the history panel
Do all of this before creating more steps that could push those steps from the history panel or close the document or photoshop as the history panel will be cleared.
Disclaimer: Even though the settings should be in the filters that you used last, there is no guarantee especially if used again afterwards with a different setting.

How do I find the original photo that is used in one of my contact photo in "Contacts"?

Hi everyone,
I am in a bit of a dilemma. I desperately need to find and/or access the original photo used as a contacts photo in the OSX built in app "Contacts". I can resize the photo and I can see it in full but I can't find the original anywhere and in any way.
I'd really appreciate some help here, as the photo is dear to my heart but seems to have gone missing. It was originally scanned in but isn't showing up where all my scanned photos are saved. Eek!
If anyone has any pointers on where I could find this photo in its original size, please do share them!

I've tried doing that, but in the said folder there are only default pictures. I can't find the images of any contacts in the app "Contacts" anywhere. The thread you refered me to and many others that are smilar to it, date back to about 2009-2010.

How can I find the total word count in my entire Indesign CS3 document?

I have a book that consists of 10 different files and many many different text boxes. I need to find out what the total word count is for the entire book. Is there a simple way to do this, or do I have to copy and paste all the text from InD into a word file to get the number? Your help is much appreciated.

How can I find where a specific font is used in a Pages document

I have a Pages document that always shows a font missing error when opened. Is there any way to find where that font is supposedly used? Alternatively, if I install the font, the message doesn't appear — I assume that means that the font was found. Is there a way to find where that font is used in the document?

Hi Bob.
For the present, at least, it's going to involve a visual inspection.
When you open the document, you can select a specific font in the Document Warning window, and replace it with another, using the Replace Font pop-up at the bottom of the window.
Choose a font that will be easy to spot, such as Wingdings, used below to replace Cambria:
At this point, you could replace the occurrences individually with a suitable font, or press command-Z to undo the replacement, or discard the Pages version of the document and open the original a second time to produce a new Pages document.
For the future, you use Provide Pages Feedback. in the Application menu (in Pages, the "Pages" menu) to send a feature request to Apple. The link will also take you to the Feedback page.

How can i find the apple id that was used to purchase a computer?

Someone else in our company purchased a MacBook Air online. He said that when he went through the purchasing process he selected 'Guest' and didn't create an Apple ID. He used a company credit card to pay, which *may* have had an Apple ID associated with it (but I don't think so since it's a fairly new card).
The new computer is one day old. I'm setting it up for the user; but when I go to the 'App Store > Updates' I'm unable to update 'Pages.' It prompts me for an Apple ID. I've typed in several that are in use here, but I get the error "This update is not available for this Apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled."
Similarly, if I go to store.apple.com to look up the Order Number for this computer, I am prompted for an Apple ID (even though I have the order number).
I realize this may not be the right place to post this, but I can't for the life of me find a generic 'Apple Store' (not for Apps) or 'Apple ID' community. If someone can point me to a more appropriate community, I'll be happy to repost...

How do I find the cookies I want to keep

Recently I asked for some help but I think my request has got lost.
I had beenadvised to save the cookies I want to keep but this is beyond me.
My question is how do I find the cookie I want to keep? It is a cookie for an ebook and I have no idea what it is.
Will deleting all other cookies mean that it will also delete my passwords and log ins on several sites? I don't want this to happen.
Which brings me to the last point - You say that if I list exceptions to cookies I want to keep (at least I think that is what you mean), how do I find all those cookies?
Again, sorry for troubling you but until I can find out more about the cookies, I don't want to delete these in case I delete the wrong ones, such as the ebook.

Thank you so much for the above. It will be of great help in telling me where to go. But my problem is that if I can find cookies, I don't know which ones I want to keep. Are they labelled with the sites they refer to? If so that will help me. Apart from one which is the cookie I need to get to my online ebook, I guess there are cookies for the various passwords I have saved?

I typically have several open Preview files at any one time and often forget where, sometimes if, I saved them. In Mountain Lion, how do I find the location of an open Preview File? Tried holding option + command in spotlight but I don't see a path name appear anywhere.

Yes, cmd-option on a file you choose in Spotlight and the path will appear at the bottom of the Preview window.
EDIT: Also, if it is bookmarked the path is in Bookmarks.
