If neither of the above and you don't have the CD and can't find your tracks on the computer then they you're stuck.  A file recovery utility will cost $100, plus another $100 for an external drive to which to resue the files, and may not even work.  You can buy a lot of CDs for $200.

    You can't do that.
And before you decide to store any music that you own on a computer at work, talk to your IT department. Many organizations do not permit it for legal reasons. Standard policies are that anything stored on company owned computers is the property of the company. It could not be legally stored on their machines unless you transfer the licenses and all copies, physical and digital, to the company, meaning you no longer own the music. If they were to be audited and could not prove that they own the music, they would be subject to copyright violation penalties. Just use your iPod when you're at the office if you want to listen to music.

    Many thanks!

    Hi RaulRod,
Are you pressing the Sync button to transfer music after connecting your iPhone or do you have the option checked to 'Automatically Sync when the iPhone is connected?'
Have you tried manually dragging and dropping music from your library into your phone?

    Thanks.

how do i transfer the music and apps from ipod touch to iphone

If you sign in to your Apple ID then your apps will be visible by clicking the "purchased" tab at the bottom of the screen.
Music you've purchased from Apple will appear automatically if you sign in to your account. Other music you'll need to download from your PC assuming you're not subscribed to iTunes Match.

  • HT1711 how do I find the top 5 songs from a single artist!!

How do I find the top 5 songs from a single artist?

If you have unchecked the compilation tag on the CD tracks before you ripped them, then what you are describing shouldn't be happening. Are you sure you are unchecking the compilation tag for all of the tracks on the CD before you rip them?
Unfortunately, you cannot change the default directory structure that iTunes rips albums into. You can feel free to move files after they are ripped, but iTunes will always rip them into its Artist/Album/Track #_Track Name format.

  • How can i get the music ive copied from cd onto my new computer

how can i get the music that i have copied from cd's on to my new computer.(the computer my phone was sync to blew up)  if i sync to the newit i will all the music  thats on my phone,

Restore from the backup of your old computer. Copy it from the CDs.
Look for a 3rd party app that can do what you want. Senuti has been
mentioned in the past - I do not use it so cannot comment on how
well it works. I would assume there are others as well.
iOS does not natively support syncing music back from the iPhone
    to a computer.

  • HT202213 how do I find the music from home sharing?

I do have the latest version of iTunes (11.1.5) for both computers and have turned on home sharing with the same account for both.
If it is a factor in this, I have an iPod touch 1st generation, which is also updated to its latest software version (iOS 3.1.3). IThe computers are Windows 8 and Windows XP.
Even though homesharing is turned on for both computers, I can't see where I can view the music that has been shared from either computer. Under "Library" there is no option for homesharing -- only Music, Movies, TV shows, iTunes U, and Apps. What button should I be looking for? Where is it? Am I going bliiiiiiiiind??? Thanks guys for any helpful input

They are gone, but it they were purchased in iTunes you can re-download them. From iTunes Help:
To download previous iTunes Store purchases to an authorized computer:
In iTunes, click iTunes Store (below Store).
Click the Purchased link in the top-right of the Store home page (below Quick Links).
In the page that appears, select a category.iTunes shows you which of your purchases are available for download. You can view all of your past purchases, or just the ones not currently in your iTunes library. Items already in your library aren’t available for download. If you select Music, you can view your purchases by song, artist, or album. If you’re using Album view, click an album to see which songs on it are available for downloading. To search for an item, type its name or a keyword in the search field, and then press the Return key to view your search results.
To download an item, click the Download button to the right of the item.To download all available items, click Download All.
You can download previous purchases on a total of up to ten devices and computers, combined. You can authorize up to five computers at a time with anApple ID.
To find out how to download previous purchases to your iPod touch, iPhone, or iPad, see the documentation for your device.

  • How can i find the music itunes scanned and deleted from my ipod classic

So I recently scanned my ipod classic for any problems and it decided to delete a whole bunch of my music.
It also said something about putting the corrupted files in a "Found" Folder which i cannot find.
Is there a way to get the music back somehow?

  • How do I find the music I bought by date?

I've bought a lot of music over the last couple of years and I can lose track of what I purchased. I know I can view my pruchased music under "purchased" in iTunes, but is there a way to sort the music by date purchased, by any chance?

Should be fairly easy if you download on the day you buy. Select the Purchased playlist and then go to the View menu and make sure Date Added is ticked.
Click on the column heading to sort.

    Colin R.

  • How do I find the music I downloaded?

We have a friend who we downloaded music from to our computer. Then we moved it from the computer to the ipod.  When we plug the Ipod into the car, we can hear all the music that was downloaded.  But when trying to just listen to the Ipod through earbuds, we can't get any of this new music we downloaded.  And it's also not listed anywhere in any of our playlists. Any suggestions?

Playlists are defined by you, in iTunes.  Unless you put those new songs on a playlist (that was then synced to the iPod), those songs will not be there.
You can look for songs in several ways, on the iPod.  For example, from the main iPod menu screen
Music -> Songs --- Songs are listed alphabetically
Music -> Artists -> [name of artist] -> All Songs --- Songs by artist are listed alphabetically
Music -> Album -> [name of album] --- Song on album are listed in track number order
If you want the songs to be on one playlist, you can create that playlist in iTunes, put the songs on it, then sync it to your iPod.

  • How do I transfer the music I ripped from cds I own to a new PC with iTunes?

    Greetings y'all.
Some one I work with uses iTunes, and he wants to transfer all of his music from his old computer to his new computer. I went to the apple website trying to find answers. They have some pretty decent tutorials on how to transfer your music from one PC to another PC.
However, here's the curve ball, my co-worker has much music that they ripped from CDs. Whenever I tried some of the methods detailed on those tutorials they would simply not transfer the ripped music, all of which he legitimately purchased.
One of the methods details simply going to the folder that iTunes stores the music and copying it to an external then copy pasting it on to the other computer. When I tried this it not only did not copy the ripped music, it deleted it off of the external. Only the music which he purchased on the Apple iTunes store transferred over successfully.
He still has his old computer and won't get rid of it until we know for certain that his music is safely on his new computer.
Do you guys have any thoughts on this dilemma? Would home sharing work better on this?
The iTunes version on both his computers is the same.  He is running Windows 7 on his new machine, and Windows XP on his old machine.

I don't know Windows, so all I can suggest is how one moves the iTunes folder to another machine via an external drive. Now, if he added tracks but did not have them stored into the iTunes library then they are stored elsewhere on the old computer or he's just going to have to re-rip them from the CD. BTW, if he rips them using iTunes, then they should not require any conversion. iTunes rips as MP3s. They shouldn't require any conversion.
