How do I find the type of port my computer has

I want to buy a nano but I saw that it only works with USB Port 2 or something. After loading all my songs from one computer to the other computer with itunes 10, I don't really want any more complications. I have a MacBook that we got last year. The port is about 1/2 cm high and about 1.3 cm wide. I don't know if this helps.
Thanks

All MacBook or MacBook Pros will have USB 2.

Not very helpful. Micron / Crucial makes maybe 2000 RAM types. If all you have is the RAM and the label you may be thin on luck.

    Where your backups are stored
The folder where your backup data is stored depends on your computer's operating system. Make sure the backup folder is included in your data-backup routine. iTunes places the backup files in these places:
        Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
The "~" represents your Home folder. If you don't see Library in your Home folder, hold Option and click the Go menu.
        Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8: \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
To quickly access the AppData folder, click Start. In the search bar, type %appdata%, then press Return.
        Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
To quickly access the Application Data folder, click Start, then choose Run. In the search bar, type %appdata%, then click OK.

Normally if you select a song and click get info you get this info. So you data should be in Album field or the Composer should be Bach.
If these data are inout correctly at the time of file generation, you can choose View, View Option in the Itunes Menu, Tick the Composer and the Album.
    Have a nice day!

  • How do I find the correct COM port

I am trying to load Palm V Desktop Organiser software but the connection cannot be made byween the Palm cradle and the port. There appears to be one port available but it does not connect.
I am using a Serial to USB adapter and a USB port on my Equium A60.
Can anybody offer any help please.
    Thanks!

    Hey there ,
Since there are no serial ports on the laptop there is no physical comports and i believe thats why Sandros is using the usb-serial converter.
In the device manager ( after installing the converter ) you will be able to see that there is a physical comport listed and when you go to the properties of the card on the advanced settings tab you have the option to change the comport number that the converter uses . Wjile changing that please make sure that you do not choose an occupied one .
    Cheers

  • How do I find the type of camera used in FCPX

I'm trying to figure out for grading purposes (FilmConvert Pro) what model camera was used. It is either a 5D MK2 or 7D, but I don't see anyway of locating it in the metadata...is it even there? If not, is there anyway to locate it?

Yeah, that's the first thing I tried. All it says is EOS Camera, not the model. I have tried all the various views in the info tab. Any other way?

  • How can I find the ASM port

    Hi,
When I use OEM grid control to monitor the ASM, during the configuration, I was asked to enter port, SID, please tell me from which file I can find the ASM instance port information?
    Thanks,
    Hank
    USA 2007

hank, we have dozens of listeners on different ports and i'm not sure what it does for us. this is a legacy configuration going back to the days when our connect traffic overwhelmed the ability of the unix system to respond to one (or two or three ...) port(s). today's processors and memory are much faster and software is more efficient but there is still a point where connect traffic will overburden the port and then you need another listener. but all those listeners create a maintenance burden for me (and you) and can create a lot of confusion. bringing down one instance should never affect the availability of other instances. i think chandra meant bringing down the listener rather than instance. in 10gr2 i never turn down any listeners at any time for any maintenance. crs restarts all the listeners on any node after an unplanned outage and i never touch them. you can control connections to instances using ha services rather than listener availability. hth, mike

  • How can I determine the type of video out connector I need?

    Howdy,
I have a white macbook purchased Jun/2008. I want to connect to a TV but don't know what adapter I need. How can I determine the type of video out jack my macbook has?
System Profiler says the model identifier is "MacBook 4,1". Under Graphics/Displays the only thing it says about the "Display Connector" is that no display is connected. Too bad it doesn't tell me what type of connector it is. If I knew the name of the connector I'd probably be home free. But it seems like every macbook model has a different video connector (since the state of the art has advanced over the years) and I haven't been able to keep up with the names.
Now, I have a 6" long adapter that will convert this connector to VGA. And searching the Apple store for VGA adapters, the existence of mine says my connector is might be one of "Mini DisplayPort", "Apple Mini DVI", "Apple DVI", or "Apple Micro-DVI". But then there is also the connector at
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/M8639G/A?mco=MTY3ODQ5OTY
and that looks like the one I have. But unlike the other adapters, this one is just called a "VGA Display Adapter". Does the connector have a name? How can I find adapters that have that same connector?
I know I could use the adapter I have, plus a VGA to VGA cable, to hook up to a TV. But the quality of the VGA signal is poor in the digital world. My goal is to hook up to the TV via HDMI. Is this even possible? By which I mean, will my macbook generate the signals necessary to be able to be converted to HDMI?
    Thanks for any help,
    Zebulon T

    Thanks, Ded,
You're right, the cable that I have won't work. I't from my previous, 2004 iBook. This is pretty embarrassing... I looked at the cable but didn't bother to try plugging it in.
Looking at the close-up picture of the Mini-DVI to VGA adapter, that does look like the right connector. So I have Mini-DVI, and the other apter you pointed to can convert this to DVI. I'll take a look to see what makes the most sense, connector wise, downstream from that.
    Thanks very much.

  • How do i find the IP address of my printer?

I have an HP 7130 all-in-one printer connected to a windows computer that is connected to a wireless router and modem. im using my macbook, which is also wireless to the same modem, and i am trying to set up a printer which requires the IP address of the printer it cannot find on its own. How do i find the IP address of the printer?
    Thanks!

    Hi Gavin,
Actually it was a typo fault on my behalf. Unfortunately the 7130 will not have an IP address as it doesn't have an Ethernet connection - just USB.
So, you are either going to have to connect the printer to the Windows computer and print from the Mac via the share or get some other hardware to share the printer. There are a number of wireless print servers on the market which allow you to connect your printer to its USB socket and then print wirelessly from your Windows and Mac computers. Or you could look at replacing the router with an Airport Extreme, which has a USB port for a printer.
If you want use what you have then connect the printer to the Windows computer and share it. Then on your Mac, open the Printer Setup Utility and click Add. Click More Printers and then Windows Printing > Network Neighborhood. You should see the Workgroup name set in the Windows computer appear. If it doesn't then wait several minutes and try again (sometimes it can take a while before Windows computers appear in this list). Once the workgroup name appears double click it and select the computer from the new menu. At this stage you may be prompted for a user name and password for the Windows computer. Input this information and then the printer share should appear. Select it and then browse for your printer model. Now there is a good chance that your model is not listed under the HP menu so you will have to use one of the provided drivers in the list and see which one works best for your printer. Once you have selected an appropriate model click Add. Now you should be able to print via wireless..

  • How do I find the typedef for a control?

I have several VI's (350+) which make use of a number of typedef and strict typedef controls. I want to automatically generate some documentation but I would like to insert the name of the typedef as the data type but I cannot see how to make the link between a control from Controls[] to the control VI's listed in Callees[]. I suspect that there may be something in the Type Descriptor of the control but I cannot find anything that explains how I can map this to one of the Callees[].
    Thanks
    Bill

One way is to use an otherwise unused property of all your TYPEDEFS to store the name in. You could use CAPTION, DESCRIPTION, or TIP.
If you set the CAPTION property of your TYPEDEF to "My TypeDef", then your doc generator can use a contol refnum and a property node to get at the caption.
On second thought, that might only work for STRICT TYPEDEFS, since the caption may be independent otherwise.
Even if that works, it means going back and editing your 350+ files.
    < UGLY HACK ALERT >
Another way is to compare the TYPE DESCRIPTORS to a known set of type descriptors.
Suppose your doc gen app has a cluster of 350+ instances (one instance of each) of your typedefs. You set the caption or label of each one of these to the text you want to see.
Use the CONTROLS[] property of the cluster to get an array of control refnums. When you have a control you want to find the type of, get its TYPE DESCRIPTOR.
Search thru your reference control refnum array, getting the TYPE DESCRIPTOR of each, and comparing it to the TYPE DESCRIPTOR of the control in question. When you find a match, extract the CAPTION of the reference control and use it.
Be aware that the TYPE DESCRIPTORS may be 100+ words long.
You might have to include the basic types (I16, U32, STR) in your reference cluster, or deal with them separately if not found in your table.
    < /UGLY HACK ALERT >
The type descriptors are meant as an internal structure, with good reason, I suppose. NI can change them at any time. Still, comparing them for equality shuold always be valid.
