How Do I Find Total Use / Capacity Of My Internal HD In Mavericks?

I just upgraded to mavericks and am working through the normal hiccups.
How do I find out the complete disk usage / space available for my 1 TB Internal HD?
In previous OS there was something like "My Mac" on the top left of the finder window. I could right click on it and do a "Get Info." Now I have All My Files, AirDrop, myname (with a little house icon), Desktop, Applications, ...
I have an external HD to which I make a full back up. When I do Get Info on it it says I'm using 897 GB on a 999.9 GB capacity -- so I have just short of 103 GB available.
When I do the same Get Info on the finder item that has my name it tells me I'm using 868 GB -- so there are something like 30 GB elsewhere.
And in the Finder status under the same "my name" I'm told there are 98.65 GB available
You can tell what I really need is to clean up my stuff and get new bigger drives but until that I'd sorta like to know the score.

Choose Computer from the Finder's Go menu, control-click that drive, and choose Get Info.

What you needed to have already done was to have went to Settings>iCloud and turned FindMyiPod on.

If the iPod is restored, you can no longer find it via icloud.com. I uses turning FIndMyiPod on, not the SN,.

It will be hard work, take the where-used list from SE11 for program, function groups and etc.
Take the object name and go to SE80 and check in the tree if it has any transaction assigned.

That will only allow your carrier to blacklist the phone so it cannot be used or reactivated on their network. It won't allow you to find it.

I browsed through pacman HOWTOs and doc and I still don't know how I can find available packages on all the ftp sites in my pacman.conf file.
For example, I want to install Gnome. When I do :
pacman -Sy gnome,
it doesn't work. Is it because I should do something like :
pacman -Sy Gnome, or
pacman -Sy Gn..
Do you see what I mean? HOW DO I FIND THE RIGHT SYNTHAX FOR A PACKAGE, OR THE EXISTING PACKAGES?
Is there some kind of a search tool for the ftp repositories? For example,
pacman <-search option> Gno* (for all packages beginning with Gno)

In general you need to know name of the package(s). In the case of Gnome, Xfce4 and KDE, simply call the name of group. What you did suppose to work.

How do I find out the capacity of a DVD disc?

Sorry for such a simple question, but this is really bugging me.
At work I have CDs, DVDs and BluRay discs that are all branded with company logos etc.. so they look the same. Most of the time when I burn a disc I do it in Finder, but it doesn't say the capacity of the disc anywhere. 'Get info' doesn't help and Disk Utility doesn't shed any light either.
I know I should be more organised and label my discs, and I know I should probably use some other software but:
• I like burning discs in Finder; it's all I need (well not quite, evidently...)
• Surely there should be something to tell me if a disc is 700mb/4gb/8gb/25gb The only hint I get is an error message when I try to put too much data on a disc, but I'm not willing to burn every disc using trail and error...

How do I find and use AUNetSend or better way

Scenario:
My main computer (G5 PPC 10.5.8) is in my basement studio. I run Logic Pro 8.0.2 and Pro Tools 8.0.1cs2 on it (DIGI 002 interface). My secondary computer (G4 PPC 10.5.8) is in one floor up in my dining room. Not much on it, really. I could install any number of different DAWS on it if I had to. The computers are networked through a router and I have Apple Remote Desktop. Controlling my G5 from my G4 is a breeze. Works great. I even have an alternate MIDI controller connected via a long USB cable running through a hole in the floor under my desk down to the G5 (old hardwood with a knot punched out, also where my ethernet cable is run).
Problem:
I can't monitor audio through ARD. I have Wormhole and RAX but have been unable to figure that out. I came across "AUNetSend/Receive" while googling around. But have yet to figure out where to actually get it or how to use it even if I can find it.
All I want to be able to do is hear what I'm working on through another computer via LAN. I'm not recording or doing any serious mixing from the remote computer. For that I go downstairs. But for simple editing work, cleaning up tracks, experimenting with software instruments, composing etc. I need to be able to work upstairs so I can be more accessible to my family at certain times.
I don't really care if it's AUNetSend or some other means. I just want to monitor audio through my network. Is running an ethernet cable directly between the two computers an option? Then what about my internet connection? Some sort of splitter to my router? Seems this shouldn't have to be necessary. Why is this so hard to figure out? Don't more people want to be able to do this?

How to do Finder Search using Name Contains in 10.8.2

I just purchased a MacBook Pro with 10.8.2 installed. I used Migration Assistant to move my account from my old MacBook Pro which was running 10.7.8. On my old MacBook, a search for a file in a finder window dropped down to let you select "name contains", so you could type in just a bit of the filename to find a file. On my new MacBook, when I do the same thing, all I get is "name matches", which is much less useful. How do I get back to being able to use "name contains" or maybe even other options like "name starts with"??

As OS X Mountain Lion is registered to your Apple ID, you have to install the OS X version that came with your Mac or Mac OS X Snow Leopard, so he will be able to purchase Mountain Lion from the App Store.
To do it, just follow these specs:
1. Back up the data you need.
2. Insert the Snow Leopard DVD and press C key while your Mac is starting to start from the disc.
3. Go to Utilities menu > Disk Utility, select the hard disk at the top of the sidebar, go to Erase tab and erase the disc.
4. Close Disk Utility and reinstall Mac OS X. When the installation has finished, press the mouse while your Mac is starting to eject the DVD, and turn off the Mac.
You could also give him the Mac with Mountain Lion, but as he's using a different Apple ID, it's not legal and he could have problems if he needs to reinstall OS X, because the Mac won't allow him to reinstall it
