There is a KB article called [[Updating Firefox]] that should have all the info you are looking for. You can find out what version of FF you are currently using by going to the Help menu at the top left of Firefox, then choosing "About Firefox." That will not only tell you what version you are using, but it will also let you know if there is an available upgrade.

Hi all. I play games and downloaded a new one today. It crashed immediately saying that my version of OpenGL was not 2.1. I saw somewhere that OpenGL is included in the Xcode files. The update popped up, I clicked to install and it keeps popping up when I open Firefox that it cannot install because I need to check and see if other firefox copies are running. I do not know how to do that and why wouldn't firefox be able to tell if other copies are running and tell me how to delete them if that is what is necessary

Do a clean (re-)install:
* Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.

* Firefox 3.6.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
* Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
* Do not remove personal data if you uninstall the current version.
* It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere (not in the Firefox program folder) and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.
