How do I fix a bad firmware flash?

I have a WRT54G V4 I went throught the routien to "update" the firmware, but it didn't finish, and stalled. So I stopped it.
My laptop is the only wireless componet, and it won't stay connected for more than a few seconds.
Another quesion, a WRT54 V4 can only use the Version 4 .bin file, correct?

So basically, your router is still working but you have these wireless issues now?
If you can still open the web configuration interface, simply run the same firmware upgrade again. Maybe download the firmware file again from the server before and make sure that you download the whole file and it is not interrupted during download. (Make also sure that you actually download the file and not let the browser take it from its cache...)
You may consider doing a full factory reset before trying to upgrade again. As the firmware may be corrupted some other issues might occur if you tried it again.
Regarding the firmware version: don't confuse the hardware version and the firmware version. Check on the label underneath the router to see which router you actually have. If you have a WRT54Gv4 it should say something like "Model WRT54G ver.4" on the label. This ver.4 is the hardware version. You have to select WRT54Gv4 for a hardware version 4 WRT54G router on the downloads dropdown list on the linksys downloads web site.
The firmware version is something completely different from that. It is the version of the firmware (like the operating system on the router). The version number of the firmware does not say anything about the hardware version. For a WRT54Gv2 the most current firmware is 4.30.5 while a WRT54Gv5 is something about 1.01.1 or so. A firmware version may be compatible with several hardware versions. I think the 4.30.5 firmware will work on v1,v2, and v3. The downloads website will always point you to the correct firmware if you select to correct hardware version of your router. So be sure to select the correct one. In particular note, that for a WRT54Gv4 router the 4.30.5 will not work. And a firmware version 4.30.5 running on a router does not say that you have a WRT54Gv4 router (on the contrary...).

You don't. If you bought it from a legitimate source, then take the original sales reciept showing the serial number to your carrier and discuss it with them.
Or talk to your cousin and ask them where they actually got it from...

How do I fix WMV/QT/Adobe Flash?

Can someone please tell me what to do so I can view mpegs and cd-roms on my computer? I had no problems before Snow Leopard...now nothing works. I downloaded flip4mac, but when I try to run WMV it tells me I have to first install Quick Time. I HAVE QUICK TIME installed and use it. Now I tried to play a cd-rom for a class that worked fine pre-Snow Leopard, and now it's telling me I can't access it because "a Classic environment is no longer supported". The system requirements tell me I just need quick time version 6 or higher, which I have. I also have Adobe flash player on the computer but since Snow Leopard it won't automatically run for me, I have to dig thru and find it in my applications and click on it for something to play, and then it gives me a system error telling me cancel the activity which I do and it does nothing. I'm really regretting Snow Leopard. Everything worked fine before I paid for this "upgrade" that made nothing work. I know I'm not very computer savvy, so maybe there's an easy fix of which I'm ignorant. Can someone tell me how to fix this? Please?

Sounds like you have some issues going on here. I think we need to break this down bit by bit. Let's start with flip4mac. What version did you try to install? It appears that only Flip4Mac WMV 2.3.0.11-BETA is what you need for snow leopard.

Next, what type of CD-ROM are you actually trying to run? Were you running 10.5 leopard or 10.4 tiger previously? Tiger had support for the classic environment but leopard did not.

This equipment was working just fine after I installed a re-filled black ink cartridge. A few days later I began to get a flashing light with the message: Cartridge Error. I have removed the two cartrdges, cleaned them with water by using a coffee filter as a swab. I would be happy to help in regards to the flashing lights and cartridge error on the printer. You had also mentioned that the computer sometimes shows the printer offline or door open errors. I should be able to help with that as well!
The first thing I suggest is to plug the printer into the wall outlet directly if it is currently in a power surge protector or extension cord. This may sound silly but this will ensure the printer is getting full power and may eliminate any unnecessary troubleshooting. If the printer is no longer getting full power from the power surge or extension cord it may give false errors or have poor connection and paper feed issues.
From what I can find it looks like you have done all the troubleshooting regarding the cartridge itself. If you have tried the above suggestion and are still getting the same issue then you may need to try another cartridge to see if the issue is coming from the printers hardware or the cartridge.

When on a game site using flash player and trying to use full screen it goes to a blank white page. How do I correct this problem?

F...K BAD FIRMWARE FLASH(MS-8348A)

Hi all, here it goes:
I got this Dragowriter (MS-8348A) one month ago - since then i have had only problems, slow readin with certain cdrs, ultra rare but exsistent inability on occasion in bios post/ide bus identification (didnt show as secondary slave sometimes) etc on an otherwise ROCK Stable System (Asus P4G8X-Delux rocks) and on top of that i got it to replace a Plextor 40x1240a[ ] which i planned to use on my other rig [what a noob i was..]. So yesterday i decided to update its firmware from v.120d to 1.50d. So i made a bootdisk (winxp) copied bios and update prog to floppy and rebooted in ms-dos real mode..i executed a:>update 150d.bin it detected writer as secondary slave it flashed firmware - IT VERIFIED that flash was ok and after that it returned TURN OF POWER NOW! So i did ...
The next thing was that there was no secondary slave any more- neither any reaction from the drive itself - no power no - as if it wasnt connected at all - no tray out
I confirmed jumper settings - set it to master also - cable select nothin- i even tried it on other rigs - nothin!
Dragonwriter(-:censored: ) is DED. So is there anything i could do now than RMA this thing? i mean is there anyway of forcin it to use last firmware as with bios on msi4800se? Note that drive doesnt register with system at all...any help would be appreciated- not that i care too much Good old plextor reigns supreme and i think this 40x writter puts down most newer 48x drives anayway thanks and keep up good work(troubleshootin)!

How would I fix a bad block on a partition?

I've been trying to resize a Western Digital 250GB drive that has Windows XP on the primary /dev/hda partition. PartitonMagic reports "Error 1529 while executing batch" & "Error 1529: Information mismatch in directory entry" I've read it up and the solution is supposed to be running "chkdsk /f"but I've run "chkdisk /r & /f" multiple times and I still get this error.
I also tried to partition form a gparted cd, it tells me that there is at least 1 bad block and it cannot continue. It suggested chkdsk and running ntfsresize with --bad-sectors. I did this with "ntfsresize -b -s182880MB /dev/sda1" it seemed to have worked but when I logged in to Windows I noticed that while my C: was resized to 182GB, no unallocated space was created. (Not sure if I missed a step in this process) So partition magic and other apps show a 250GB+ drive with no unallocated free space. While my C:\ shows up as 182GB.
I also tried Ultimate Boot Disk, with qtparted & simplyMephis liveCD with qtparted. UBD just said there were errors, simplyMephis said there was at least 1 bad block on the drive. I tried running badblocks commands from Mephis but it looked like it would take days to complete at the speed it was doing it.
Any more ideas? Has anyone else come across these problems?

You may try to launch a "cfdisk" from a live CD to see if the partitions are set up correctly and maybe write a proper partition table. Be warned, this is a formatting tool, so you can loose all your data if manipulated incorrectly.
Moreover, partitionning a drive while the system uses it is not a good idea. Always prefer doing this from a live system (that uses only RAM).

You need to tell us what you bought. Being as it's used did the seller include the Original Install Disk? It's gray and has a small Apple logo on it. You should have it and need it now in order to proceed.

Never saw this problem until today, first on Facebook, then on these Mozilla support pages. I had one Firefox window with multiple FB and Mozilla tabs open.
Here's my observations: On the FB and Mozilla pages, the cursor (arrow/hand) acted identical and as described here, would disappear after 2-3 seconds of inactivity or non-motion, then instantly reappear with mouse movement or key strike but only momentarily if no further motion/action occurred. Interestingly, I also had one FoxNews tab (actually FoxNewsInsider) open, and observed slightly different activity. The Cursor/hand would disappear as described above, but instead of staying invisible, it flashed on /off for what appeared to be <1 second on then <1 second off, until mouse movement or key strike. Now, here's the really interesting part ... When I opened a second FoxNewsInsider tab, the problem corrected itself with no direct action on my part to resolve the issue. I was going to close all tabs, then Firefox and perform the system reboot to correct this annoyance ... but, still have not seen the problem.
Okay, I'm not going to say viewing FoxNewsInsider webpages not only provides one perspective on news, and the added benefit of fixing cursor/hand problems .. but maybe there's some to being well informed ... Sorry folks, couldn't resist ... :) I will be watching for the disappearing cursor issue again, and will reply here with any updates or changes in my observations.

I have to remove and reinstall Flash Player 11.3 everyday! How can I fix it?

I use Firefox and IE. Everyday I have to remove and reinstall flash player to be able to use it. Every day I receive the message that I don't have F player installed and I have to download it. I check add-ons and I can't find it there but it's installed in program,s and features in my control panel. I'm usin win 7 32-Bit and I always download the latest 11.3 F player. I'm tired of going through the same process everyday! BTW, I delete all my cookies and browsing history every time I want to close my explorers. But it's not new I've always done that but the problem with the lawstest F player is quite recent since the first time I download F player 11.3! Please help me.
