How do I fix App Store screen frozen?

I bought vanity fair magazine but after completing purchase and returning to the App Store it is frozen and will not close window. I have turned off iPad but it did not help. I have an iPad 3 with updated OS. Current. How can I unfreeze the App Store since it's part of the system and can't be deleted and reloaded?

Try a reset: hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until you see the apple, then let go.

  • HT204088 app store is frozen on my ipad on the genius setting; How do I clear the frozen status?

I was wondering if anyone could help: app store is frozen on my ipad mini with the genius tab high-lighted. Any suggestions as to how to correct this? the appstore is not usable, but all other apps functioning as they should. Thanks in advance

    Hi ckreske,
I would try forcing the app to quit as described in this article:
iOS: Force an app to close

You can also try restarting your phone:

    Have a good one!

  • TS1702 Hi, I have just tried downloading Facebook app on, but the app store has frozen and I can't do anything on the screen. Shall I just try turning it all off and back on again? Thanks

Hi, I have just tried downloading the Facebook app, but the app store has frozen. It will not let me click on anything. Shall I try turning it all off and back on again? Or is there something else I need to do.
    Thanks, Rebecca

Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

  • My new ipad app store screen shows blank screen. how to resolve this?

my app store screen gone blank

Quit the app store app completely and restart the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar. Restart the iPad.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Or try this as well. Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

  • App store is frozen on computer

The app store is frozen on my mac and unusable. I have to force quit to get it off. How can I fix this so I can use the app store?

It freezes on the iPad too?

  • The app store screen is way off to the right and stuck with the spinning wheel. I can't close it. Should I force close? It said iPhoto did not update.

The App Store screen is way off to the right so I can't access it. It has the little spinning wheel I can see when I swipe up to see what's open. It won't close. Should I try to force it? How much more time should I give it? I did just give Google some accessibily access that it asked for. Just upgraded to Maverick. I thought everything was fine. Says iPhoto needs a retry; but I can't get to the screen to try again. Pages also says it has an update; but also says it just updated.

    Thank Carolyn,
I had tried that; but to restart it had to close, and to close it had to close the App Store, which was stuck. Finally did a force close. Am now trying to update iPhoto. We'll see if works this time.

  • TS1702 my apps store screen won't move off Newstand. I am unable to select any options eg; updates

My apps store screen seems to be frozen on Newstand.  I am unable to move from this section.  I an unable to select any other alternatives eg; when I select updates nothing happens. When I select select categories nothing happens.

Try closing the App Store app completely and see if it works properly when you re-open it : from the home screen (i.e. not with the App Store 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the App Store app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then you could try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • How can I restore App Store and apps

How can I restore App Store and my purchased apps

If you mean that you can't find the App Store app on any of your homescreens or app folders, and you can't find it via the spotlight search screen (swipe your first home screen to the right), then is it hidden by Settings > General > Restrictions > Installing Apps being set 'off' ? If it is hidden then unhide it and the app should then appear on your iPad's homescreen, and you can then re-download your apps via the Purchased tab in it.

  • HT1848 how to download the app store?

how to download the app store on iphone4 ?

The App Store app is on your iPhone now and cannot be removed, so there's nothing to download. If you can't find it, it may be on another home screen or inadvertently hidden in a folder. Either do a search for it or try the Reset Home Screen Layout in the Settings/General/Reset area. Also, check the Restrictions to see if purchasing apps has been turned off, and if so turn that back on.
    Regards.

  • How do I enter App Store gift certificate. I have been going around for an hiur

How do I enter App Store gift certificate. I have been going around for an hiur

You must redeem the code on the gift certificate. Open the Mac App Store. Make sure that you are signed into your account (Store menu.) Click the Redeem link in the Quick Links on the Featured pane. Follow the on screen instructions.
Only after you have redeemed the certificate may you buy something with the credit.
UPDATE - I have been trying to offer you a screenshot for the last 5 minutes, but the stupid forum software won't accept one right now. Sorry about that.

  • App store updates frozen

My App store is frozen on 46 updates and won't load. This occured after I did a revert to factory status and re-installed apps. How do I unfreeze the option?

Her are a bunch of things that you can try. I have posted this quite a few times and all of these suggestions have worked at one time or another.
From what you describe, start with #2 - the reboot.
    1. Tap the "waiting" icon and see if you can pause it. If it does pause, then tap it again and see if it will resume. If that works, repeat the same steps for each "waiting" icon.
    2. Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
    3. Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
    4. If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
    5. You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again. Apps may also be able to be deleted in Settings>General>Usage>Storage if you cannot get the X to pop up on the icon.
    6. You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered.

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
