How do I fix/avoid installation error with Premiere Elements 3.0?

I am trying to reinstall my copy of Premiere Elements 3.0. My desktop crashed and I had to reimage the hard drive, necessitating reinstallation of most of my software. The software worked fine before the crash. I get an error message to the effect that "Premiere Elements could not load audio drivers--Please reinstall and try again."  I've tried several times with the same result. Any ideas?

>motherboard drivers
Depending on your computer vendor there might/should be a disc (CD or DVD) that is separate from Windows Vista, which contains device driver software and/or small application programs that are designed to make the motherboard fully functional

If you don't have such a disc, Hunt's advice will work... and is likely even better, since you will be able to download the latest software for your motherboard

  • How do you fix msvcirt.dll error in Premiere Elements 8

The software will not load, no matter what I do, I have tried all kinds of fixes. Reinstalled and uninstalled. I am desparate.

My drill questions for Premiere Elements 8 users
    1. Are you running the program as the 8.0.1 Update?
    2. Do you have the automatic Background Rendering and AutoAnalyzer features turned OFF?
    3. Do you have the latest version of QuickTime installed?
    4. Are you running the program from a User Account with Administrative Privileges?
Assuming Yes to all of the above....
Is this a "worked before but now" or "it never worked" issue?
What computer operating system (including 32 or 64 bit system) are you running Premiere Elements 8.0/8.0.1 on?
Is you video card drive up to date?  Assuming that at one time you got into Edit Menu/Preferences/General, how did you set Enable GPU Playback, On or Off?
What happens if you bypass the Welcome Screen for the opening? Same message?
(To do that, you would right click the desktop icon for the program, select Properties, select Open File Location. That should take you to Adobe Premiere Elements 8.0.exe. Right next to that file is another named Adobe Premiere Elements.exe. Make a desktop shortcut for the latter file and use that desktop shortcut to open Premiere Elements thereafter.)
Please confirm that clicking OK to the message never lets you continue into the program.
    Please review.
We will be watching for your follow up.
    Thanks.

  • Installation problems with Premiere Elements 9

I am trying to reinstall Premeire Elements 9 on my desktop that had just crashed. It installs until it gets to installing required shared Technologies, then I get the error message saying"Installation process has encountered an error while installing". I click on it to close it and it starts rolling back the installation.
I am running Windows XP with Intel i5 quadcore cpu 4 gigs of memory. I love this product, but if I can not install it, then I will get some other software...

    Starfiremoonraven,
Once you have downloaded the files, please navigate to the folder to which the files have been extracted. If you are using a disc, you will find these folders in it.
    1. Click on the Adobe Premiere Elements 9 folder.
    2. Then look for a folder named PRE9. Click on it.
    3. Here double click on the folder named ElementsST1Installer (ST1 means Shared technologies 1)
    4. Click on the Set-up icon you will see here.
    5. Once set up completes, try installing the software.
If you still have the same issue, please follow the steps in the below mentioned document:

Thanks for the update. Sorry that the news was not better. But do not give up.
After I saw your message, I did some Google searching. The following is some of what I found
    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-files/windows-installer-error-1 325-documents-is-not-a/d70411d0-017d-41f0-b5b4-0861b6ca9955
I have some further suggestions which you might consider. If you have professional help, then best let it handle the overall situation, especially if it is going to take you into the Registry where you might not feel comfortable.
My suggestion would be to uninstall Premiere Elements 7, do a run through with ccleaner (regular clearner and registry cleaner parts) and then reinstall Premiere Elements 7. Many have used ccleaner with pros and no cons. In the registry cleaning part, there is a step for you to backup the registry in a file saved to Documents or wherever you want on the computer hard drive.
But, go with what you feel comfortable doing. If you have Premiere Elements 7 projects in the works and can get into Premiere Elements, you may want to Project Archive them for safe keeping.during this time whether you run the ccleaner or not.
We will be watching for your progress.
    Thank you.

  • Transcoding Error with Premiere Elements 7

I have worked with Lightroom and with Photoshop Elements, and I am now trying to use Premiere Elements (7) to create a project of video clips and stills from my Canon DSLR.  I can create a DVD with eleven video clips (although it will not play on my old-ish DVD player, just on my computer), but when I add 18 JPEGs (generated from RAW files), I get a "transcoding error" when I try to burn a DVD.  Even without burning, when I try Preview, the still images look extremely low-res.  Any way I can get this to work?
And, please pardon me for saying it, but I use Lightroom a great deal, Elements somewhat, and I have a pretty new 4 GB RAM Dell with much NTFS disk space, and two decades of doing computer support professionally.  Given all of that, Premiere Elements seems to be an atrocious performer - 7 anyway.  It takes an incredibly long time to load, and starts flashing "running low on memory" messages shockingly quickly.  A glance at forum messages suggests that 8 may not be an improvement.  Any suggestions on performance?  Lightroom is pretty much lightning fast.

    Welcome to the forum.
First, editing Video is far more intense on the computer, than even very large images in PS. The resources issue can likely be overcome by the tips in this ARTICLE.
Also, with any resources issues, remember that these can be physical RAM, and also the Windows Virtual Memory (Page File). The size, location and management of the Page File can be very important, especially if one has many other programs and Processes stealing resources unnecessarily.
Last, let's talk about the burning (and Transcoding) of a DVD-Video. First place to look would be the size of your still images. You cannot display more pixels, than the Frame Size of your Project. Unless you are doing a lot of animation, having them any larger than the Frame Size is a waste. The quality will actually be better, if you do your resizing in PS, and not letting PrE do it for you. This ARTICLE will give you some tips. Having to process large stills will rob your system of necessary resources.
As for the burned DVD-Video not playing in a set-top player, and only a computer, the most likely causes of this are the blank media itself, and too high a burn speed. I strongly recommend using Verbatim, or Taiyo Yuden media, and recommend against using Memorex, TDK, recent RiteK or any store brands. I also would use slower speed media, as PrE will try to get the fastest burn, based on the speed of the blank media and the burner. Slower is better. I can manually assign the speed in my authoring program, and choose a speed at least half of the max.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Transcoding error with Premiere Elements at 50% encoding point

I am getting a transcoding error at exactly the 50% encoding point multiple times.  I have reduced the amount of video to burn and also tried burning to a file with no success.  I have even purchased a 1 TB hard drive, re-installed Windows XP and the Premiere Elements software to make sure I had enough hard drive space and still am getting the error.  Any other ideas.

  • How to create professional quality HD Video with Premiere Elements

This is a guide for Premiere Elements 11 that can be adapted to other versions.
Professional video must be at very high bitrates (50-100 Mbps) to minimize quality loss
from compression across multiple generations, with chroma subsampling of at least 4:2:2.
(Many broadcasters will reject video below 50 Mbps.)
The best Computer preset options available in Premiere Elements 11 for professional output:
AVI: Advanced: Video Codec: Uncompressed UYVY 422 8bit
QuickTime: Advanced: Video Codec: Uncompressed YUV 10 bit 4:2:2
QuickTime: Advanced: Video Codec: Uncompressed YUV 8 bit 4:2:2
Best possible quality, but gigantic file size, may well be impractical.
    MPEG: HDTV 1080p High Quality
Use Advanced to set the Video: Profile to 4:2:2; check Render at Maximum Depth; and set Target Bitrate (Mbps) to 50-100. VLC Media Player can be used to play the output file. In general, this is the most practical standard option.
    AVCHD: MP4 - H264 1920x1080p
Unfortunately, only chroma subsampling of 4:2:0 is supported.
A good alternative to these standard options is to install and use the free Avid DNxHD codec, which is widely accepted professionally. Download and install it from here, and then reboot your computer. To use it in Premiere Elements, select Publish+Share: Computer: QuickTime: Advanced.
    In the Video tab:
Set Video Codec to Avid DNxHD Codec.
Click Codec Settings, and set desired Resolution (e.g., 1080p/29.97 DNxHD 36 8-bit).
Set Width and Height to 1920 and 1080 respectively.
    Set Frame Rate as desired.
Field Type should normally be set to Progressive.
Set Aspect to Square Pixels (1.0).
    Check Render at Maximum Depth.
    In the Audio tab:
Set Audio Codec to Apple Lossless.
Click OK, and Save your new preset with a meaningful name.
QuickTime can be used to play the output file.
    Hope that helps!

While consumers are indeed the intended audience of PE, it's nonetheless usable for professional output when you don't need the full capabilities and complexity of PP. I use both, and while I do sometimes need PP, I often find PE suited to the job at hand,
PE does support MPEG-2 4:2:2P@HL. (I just tested it in PE11 to be sure.)
AVCHD, while originally introduced as a format for consumer use, is now widely accepted as a professional format -- Panasonic and Sony both make professional AVCHD camcorders.
Regardless, I prepared this guide especially for those who don't use PP -- even with the easier pricing of CC, PP can be too steep a learning curve for an occasional professional job when PE can get it done.

  • How to record screen shots for use with Premiere Elements...

I am putting together a tutorial on how to navigate and use my company's web-site. How do I video record my navigation of the website for import into Premiere Elements? I am thinking it is something easy I am missing. Do I simply shoot a video of my computer screen as I am navigating the site, or can my computer record in video format what I am doing on the screen? I am using Vista on a Toshiba laptop.

It's been a while but, in the past, I've used both the free 'CamStudio' and 'Wink' software (I think I found Wink the better of the two).
Adobe also selll their own video capture software 'Captivate'.

  • How can I fix this printer error with Samsung SCX-4300 and SCX-4521f on Windows Server 2008 R2?

I have two printers installed on Windows Server 2008 R2 (64-bit):
    1. Samsung SCX-4521f
    2. Samsung SCX-4300
There are two computers (Windows 7 Professional, 32-Bit) connected to this server that utilise these shared printers.
The drivers installed are as follows:
    SCX-4x21_Win7_Print.exe (Win 2000/XP/2003/Vista/2008/Win 7    3.04.96:03    Print Driver    11 Dec, 2009    12.37    MULTI LANGUAGE)
    SCX-4300_Print.exe (Win 2000/XP/2003/Vista/2008/Win 7(32,64bit) 3.04.95:07 Print Driver Jan 19, 2011 53.07 MULTI LANGUAGE)
After printing documents for some time (within a 24 period) the printers no longer respond to print requests.
On the server opening "Control Panel\Hardware\Devices and Printers" shows the two printers with yellow exclamation marks.
The "SCX-4x21" printer shows the "Status" as "Needs troubleshooting" and "Printer: Error".
The "SCX-4300" printer shows the "Status" as "Needs troubleshooting".
Neither will print a test page.
Searching for new drivers automatically returns saying: "The best driver software for your device is already installed".
The error persists and nothing will print.
When double-clicking on the "SCX-4x21" printer (or going to "Control Panel\Hardware\Devices and Printers\Samsung SCX-4x21 Series") you see the following:
"Printer: Error" and "N document(s) in queue".
Clicking on either of these brings up the print queue and shows a document with the status of "Error - Printing".
As each job with an error is cancelled the next one attempts to print and also displays an error like the last.
Once all the jobs are cleared the printer information says "Printer: Ready".
Sending a "Print Test Page" sends the printer into an error state saying "Printer: Error".
With the "SCX-4300", sending a "Print Test Page" displays a bubble saying: "Toner Empty: Replace Toner".
However, I can't see any specific error messages.
How do I find out what exactly "Needs troubleshooting"?
    Please can anyone advise further?

The printer (SCX-4300) has stopped again.
Since it has been stopped I have done your recommendations:
Unticked the "Enable bidirectional support" option under the "Ports" tab in the printer properties.
Set the "Interactive Services Detection" to Automatic and started it.
Unfortunately the printer did not start printing, the print jobs did not restart or delete.
I decided to check the Operational logs that we enabled.
The first job I see goes like this:
    Information: Rendering job 41.
Error: The print spooler failed to delete the file C:\Windows\system32\spool\PRINTERS\00041.SHD, error code 0x2. See the event user data for context information.
Information: The print job 41 was sent through the print processor SSE1MPC on printer Samsung SCX-4300 Series, driver Samsung SCX-4300 Series, in the isolation mode 1 (0 - loaded in the spooler, 1 - loaded in shared sandbox, 2 - loaded in isolated
sandbox). Win32 error code returned by the print processor: 0x0.
    Information:Printing job 41.
    Information:Spooling job 41.
    This job actually printed.
Other jobs printed fine with no error.
There are no other errors in the "Operational" log other than the "print spooler failed to delete" error.
Any ideas what to try now?
Update: Unticking the "Enable bidirectional support", clearing the print queue and then trying again seems to have fixed the problem for now.

If you had Firefox save your Yahoo password, first try deleting that here:
orange Firefox button ''or'' classic Tools menu > Options > Security > "Saved Passwords"
The "signed out" message seems to be related to how Yahoo authenticates you. Some users have reported that disabling automatic proxy detection solves the problem, and it also resolves an issue of getting logged out every few minutes, if you have ever experienced that.
    To make the change:
orange Firefox button ''or'' classic Tools menu > Options > Advanced
On the "Network" mini-tab, click the "Settings" button, then choose "No Proxy" and OK your way back out.
If your work connection requires you to use a proxy server, try the "Use system settings" option instead.
    Does that help?

How do I fix the R6034 error in iTunes?

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
