  • How do i fix my sigmatel audio driver problem?

I have a Black Macbook Intel Core 2 (circa 2007)
    Running Windows XP Pro SP3
    via Boot Camp v 3.2.
I recently had to reinstall Windows XP Pro and only had saved Boot Camp Disks for v1.4 and then upgraded to 3.1 via the Boot Camp 3.2 .EXE downloads available on Apple's site. Unfortunately, now there is no sound coming out of my internal speakers OR the headphone.
Prior to reinstalling XP, I also had this same problem, but it was limited to no sound from the internal speakers (I was able to get audio out of the headphone jack).
I've tried several approaches/combinations of reinstalling, updating drivers, restarting, etc.. with no success
I have seen this (or related) problems on multiple sites dating back to 2006 and have not found any clear resolution or answer, particular from anyone at Apple. Why hasn't this been put to rest??? I know Apple provides limited ('terrible') support for boot camp, along with just about everything else. But this issue has been going on since 2006, with no clear support.
    Any help would be appreciated...

Where did you download Windows 7 "through bootcamp" from? As far as I know you can not download Windows through Bootcamp. Where did you get the Windows Support software? Try downloading the Windows support software from http://www.apple.com/support/bootcamp/downloads/

  • How can I toggle my iTunes audio output from my TV speakers to my Mac speakers

I've just recently set up my Apple TV.
This morning, I tried playing a song on my Mac with the intent of hearing it from my Mac speakers. However, the output came out of my TV speakers. How can I choose where the audio output is coming from?

From your Old Computer... Copy your ENTIRE iTunes FOLDER to an External Drive... and then from the External Drive to your New Computer..
An Added Bonus is that you will then have a Backup of iTunes...

  • E65 + In Car Connection + BlueTooth Audio Output

    Hi All
I'm looking to buy a new in car system with Blue ooth.
The spec's say the phone must support BlueTooth Audio Output.
Does anyone know if the E65 supports this?
    Many thanks.

Its the new bluetooth stacks driver that was included with the new OS, if your stereo is a older model it does not have the supported drivers to communicate to the device, this is common with upgrades, older hadware has to be updated in order to add the support needed for the newer hardware, its like placing a 50 inch tv on a vga video card that only supports 800x600 resolutions, it may work but wont function correctly....
Your stereo should be able to use the handsfree connection from the device but all addition options wont function because of hardware limits.

  • Mac mini audio output problems

This is similar to a problem that appeared before, but with a different twist.
On 4 July all was well. On 5 July I switched on and there was no "chord" from the Mac. When I collected my mail - no sound from my speakers (which are part of my screen). Logged on to a couple of sites - no sound.
The System Profiler, under the "Audio (Built In)" category, says: "No Built-in Audio." I know that's wrong because it's always worked before and when I plug my headset in it works fine.
When I go to the Sound preferences panel in System Preferences, it finds the headset but if I unplug that it finds nothing.
I tried running the hardware test (by putting in the OS X install disc and holding D during startup.) It couldn't find a problem.
So, as far as I can see, audio output is fine for the USB headset output but not for the others. Is there a simple fix? The nearest Apple store is about 200 miles away and I don't fancy the idea of posting the Mac off.
(And I think it's still under warranty for a couple more weeks.)
Mac mini   Mac OS X (10.4.10)

hello mini users with the "no audio output" problem
it seems that there are faulty output jacks in the macbook and the mac mini
there are two things you can try:
i tried everything and began thinking about what new software i had installed. it was "macam" which enables you to use older webcams on OSX. i needed that to use my webcam on skype.
macam installs a file called "macam.component"
if you have the same, do this - take that file out of:
    (your hard drive)/library/quicktime - macam.component
and just put it on your desktop
restart, then in your sound pref's choose your audio output (if doesn't work restart again)
the first time i took it out, i had my sound back instantly, another time i had to choose audio output in sound prefs. you kind of have to try different things. after you get your sound back, you can put back "macam.component" to use your webcam.
it seems macam causes the problem, the two can not work at the same time.
the second thing: if you dont have "maccam" try plugging and unplugging output jack a few times and restarting until you have sound.
the problem still could be with the OSX 10.4.10 update / quicktime...or maybe even a hardware problem like others with macbooks were saying (with the red light), not sure.
people with macbooks and who have the red light on, say to use a paperclip to turn off the switch inside.
my mini does not have a red light on. i tried using a paperclip but it doesnt work.
hope this helps, beleive me i feel your pain!!!!
what good is a computer without sound?
extremely annoying problem that i hope apple looks into and fixes

  • Bluetooth audio output

I want to mirror the screen of my iPad or Mac via Wifi (AirPlay) to my Apple TV.
Is it possible to connect a bluetooth speaker or a bluetooth audio dongle to my AppleTV and use it as an audio output?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
    Unfortunately not.

  • How to disable the new Bluetooth Audio function?

After updating to OS 3.0 i have an annoying problem with my iPhone connected to a Kenwood car radio (via USB in the glove box):
    1. Connect iPhone with car radio via USB
    2. Turnin on the radio - now it starts playing songs from the iPhone
    3. Now the iPhone connects via Bluetooth to the radio (for use of the handsfree set!)
    4. The addressbook is downloaded by the radio via the Bluetooth connection
Till there it worked fine under OS 2.2.1 - i was able to listen to the iPod and to make/receive calls! But now there's step 5:
    5. The Bluetooth Audio function is activated - and i can hear no more sound although the playback of the song is resumed!
There's a workaround for this issue: I can tap on the iPod-Icon on the iPhone which says that the iPhone is connected to an equipment. There i can tap on a bluetooth icon in the lower right corner in which i can select the device for audio output: Bluetooth or Dock.
This is really annoying (even more due to the bad qualitiy of the bluetooth audio), so where can i disable this new "feature"?!

I too am having this problem. It seems as though I also have to unplug and re-plugin my iPhone dock connector to make it switch to the USB output I need for my JVC KD-R800 receiver in my car. I can't seem to find a way to permanently disable A2DP functionality on either my iPhone or my Car's audio receiver.
We really do need some sort of option to either disable A2DP altogether or setup a "priority" list of items. Personally, I'd love to have the iPhone output in an order something like the following:
    1st - Dock Connector (USB)
    2nd - Bluetooth A2DP
    3rd - Headphones / iPhone Speaker
Hopefully someone find out of a permanent workaround or solution soon. I just got this new receiver for my car and it messes everything up!

  • Audio coming from both TV Speakers and external soundbar - how do I suppress the TV audio output?

Just after my warranty expired, my Toshiba 55TL515U started to play sounds through both the TV's speakers as well as outputting audio to my external Polk Audio soundbar, which is connected to the TV via the Digital Audio Output line. The TV never did this after I connected the external soundbar until a few days ago.
I don't want any sound to come out of the TV speakers, I only want sound to come out of the soundbar. There's a horrible echo effect that occurs when both sound systems are active.
I don't see a setting on any of the TV menus to control this. I would assume that if the TV senses an external audio device, it would no longer output any sound to the TV's speakers.
Is there a setting on the TV I'm missing, or is this something broken within my TV?
I called Polk Audio tech support, and they claim it's not a problem with the soundbar, but with the TV.
If anyone can comment on this, I'd be very thankful.

I have the same problem. When I mute the TV, I get sound only from Soundbar which is fine. But, everytime I turn on my tv, I had to mute my tv. And if I accidently press the volume button on TV, then both TV and Soundbar plays sound and that sucks.

  • How do I change Firefox's audio output device without relaunching the browser?

I frequently switch between different headsets and speakers using USB audio devices. Whenever I change from audio device to another, Firefox does not change it's audio output to match my current device. Other programs/games follow suit when I change my default audio device and I really dislike that I have to exit out of Firefox completely and reopen for my audio to come through the correct device. It's not a huge issue, but when I have multiple windows and multiple tabs open it can be annoying having to start my browsing session all over again. Any tips to deal with this issue?
    Thanks!

    philipp,
Thank you! The beta worked perfectly when I swapped between audio devices. I just had to make sure I disabled the devices that weren't in use before Firefox would switch to the new default.
Unfortunately, while I was typing this message my client crashed, but that's not uncommon for a beta.
    Thanks again for your help!!

  • Audio output problem - using M-Audio Fasttrack

I had been using Logic Express (7.2.3) without any issues until recently plugging in a mic through my M-Audio Fasttrack.
I don't remember the exact chain of events - but at some stage, the software instrument outputs were no longer audible played either through the M-Audio, with earphones attached to its output, or through the laptop.
Even after disconnecting the Fasttrack, resetting the audio driver to 'built-in-input' and rebooting Logic Express, I still can't get any audio output from the software instruments. They aren't muted and the volume is turned up. Audio output from other programmes is working fine.
Can anyone give me any tips on how I could resolve this/suggest what I might have done to screw the audio up and what I need to do to undo it?
    Thanks,
    Antony

    this is actually really simple
i just had the same problem with my m-audio and called support
when you plug in the m-audio fast track mac automatically sets the input and output through the fast track. To fix this you need to create an aggregate device. heres how:
click the finder in your dock
    then click applications
in applications a utilities folder should appear...click that
in applications click Audio MIDI Setup
at the very top of the computer screen where it usually says what program is open it will say Audio MIDI Setup ..next to that click Audio
then click open aggregate device editor
you need to click the + to add a device
in the aggregate device screen it should say aggregate device.
below that check the option built in output
then check the option fast track (or device your using) the one that says 2 under the IN category and 0 under the OUT category.
    click done
now open logic express (reopen if already open)
    then click preferences
    audio
under device tab the device option needs to say aggregate device.
    click apply changes
    and your done!
    hope it works!

  • Audio output problem in Mountain Lion

I just downloaded and installed Mountain Lion on my late 2008 MacBook Pro 15 inch. And I ran into a problem with the audio output of my computer. The first thing I noticed when I logged in after I installed OS X Mountain Lion was that the speaker icon in my menubar was gray, I didn't give it much though since that just means that the audio is turned to the lowest level which is mute. However later I decided to watch a video and plugged in my headphoens, when I attempted to adjust the volume using the volume keys on my keyboard the volume indicator showed up however everything was grayed out, at the bottom was a circle with a slash meaning that the output device is missing or non operational.
I had encountered similar problem before, and last time I solve the problem by repeatingly plugging in and pulling out my heaphone from the headphone jack to reset the actuator. However this time the computer clearly recognises which audio output device is present since the option in the Output panel in Sound in System Preferences switches between built in speaker and headphoen when I plug in and pull out my headphone.
I have consulted a friend of mine and he suggested me to restart my computer. I am about to attempt this however I am still open to all definitive solutions to th

I also have exactly the same problem as FiddleMonster.
I get no audio from my firewire audio interface (Focusrite Saffire Pro 24 DSP) upon installing Mountain Lion on my iMac (Summer 2009) today. As FiddleMonster said, so far, no firewire audio is coming out. Tried to restart, plug cable off and then on again... Not working.

  • Split Track Audio Output Problem

I'm trying to make a split track audio output as one requirement of the deliverables list on my current job. Dialog goes left, music right.
But even though I set up my sequence as two track mono, and have pre-panned the tracks all the way to the left (A1) and right (A2), I seem unable to make a quicktime that will play them as discrete tracks.
Inside Premiere, they play back properly -- A1 is coming out of the left speaker, A2 out of the right. No bleed or overlap.
I'm exporting them as quicktime, 2 mono tracks, ProRes 422. But when I play back the resulting quicktime -- voila, the tracks have been re-mixed together without my consent!
I've tried Media Encoder, with the same results.
FYI, In the "Channel Layout" section I've tried clicking both "mono" and "discrete" without any improvement. I feel like the problem might be that I'm choosing "Stereo" from the "Channels" popup, but there is no option for two channels that are not in stereo. It goes from mono to stereo to 3.
Any suggestions would be most welcome. Especially if they arrive soon!  : )
(Using Premiere Pro 2014.1 on a MacPro Quad Core 2.93GHz machine with 16GB of RAM.)

i'm experiencing the same issue since today.
very loud (nearly ear damaging) glitches on crossfades on audio channel. doesn't matter if mp3, aif, or wav.
plus one channel of stereo sometimes randomly gets louder on transitions for a short time.
is still there in export. no matter if directly from premiere or via media encoder. (export as prores 422 with uncompressed audio). disabled native ppro import in AME, didn't help
cleared all media caches and preview files, didn't help.
not using preview files for export.
read alot about this bug being in older version here on the forums, but it is still there in CC 2014 v8.0.1
    i am on osx 10.8.5.
    please help Adobe.

  • Hiccups in Bluetooth audio output

I was very excited to finally get A2DP capability with the arrival of Leopard. However, I'm having very disappointing results and I'd sure appreciate some help to find a solution. Here's what's happening:
Everything works as advertised except that every so often (maybe 20 - 30 secs or so) there's a brief "bzzzt" in my Bluetooth headphones (Motorola S805). It's short but it's annoying enough and frequent enough to really disrupt the pleasure of listening to music.
I've become convinced that it's something to do with the data stream internal to my PowerBook because I've done a lot of experiments to eliminate RF interference and I've tried it with several different Bluetooth receivers with identical results.
Checking the activity monitor, I think I can see a correlation between the "bzzt" and spikes of data writing to disk but not all spikes result in a sound, just some of them. I've closed all possible applications that I can think of but this doesn't change anything. I've got 2GB of memory which should be more than plenty.
Does anyone have any ideas of anything I could tweak to make this work properly, maybe increase a buffer size or something...?
Thanks! Very frustrating - so near yet so far!

I experience this as well, although what grates on my nerves more is when the audio drops out for a second, and is then followed by the song running at a higher pitch (slightly faster to catch up). I use a Bluetooth mouse, and the issue is caused by allowing the mouse to idle for a bit and then attempting to move it. If I move it very gradually and then use it normally, the drop doesn't usually occur. If I jerk the mouse, the audio will drop out. If I attempt to sync my phone over Bluetooth the audio also gets flakey. (Macbook Pro, Motorola HT820's, Dell Bluetooth mouse, and a Nokia N76 - the problem isn't with any of these devices, but seemingly with how Apple's BT stack handles multiple connections.)
In 10.5.1 the problem was far worse. Moving the mouse at all would cause the audio to frequently drop out. I'm incredibly happy that Apple made some massive improvements in 10.5.2, and I'm really hoping that it'll be 100% fixed in 10.5.3. In order to ensure that happens, please take the time to give Apple feedback about your Bluetooth experiences and issues.
If you're using a Macbook Pro, the feedback form is here:
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/macbookpro.html
If you use a Macbook, the feedback form is here:
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/macbook.html
If you're using another Apple system, please use Google to search for your product name and "feedback" (throw in a site:apple.com to make it really easy) to find the feedback form. I've heard from Apple people that issues have a better chance of receiving higher priority if more customers remark on them. Please don't spam their forms and please be polite about it, but do let Apple know that the issue isn't fully solved.

  • How do I set the default audio output for all users

Here's the story. I have a Mac Pro in a classroom that is connected to the audio system via the digital (Toslink) output. The systems are bound to AD and OD with some minor management being performed via MCX (printers, login, etc...)
When a new user authenticates to the system the output defaults to the internal speakers not the Digital Out.
My assumption was that I could configure default 0 key in the com.apple.audio.SystemSettings.plist to AppleHDAEngineOutput:1B,0,1,4:2, which is the digital output.
However it seems that new users are still generated with the Internal Speakers which is AppleHDAEngineOutput:1B,0,1,2:0.
Is there somewhere else that I can configure that default such that all users will default to the Digital Out, AppleHDAEngineOutput:1B,0,1,4:2? Or am I perhaps not configuring the SystemSettings plist correctly?
Most of these tasks were previously taken care of by another technician but he has left and I'm quickly trying to pickup the slack for configuration of our Macintosh environment.
    Thanks,

If you can figure out how to add the printer name, this can be used to lock the margins.

  • How do i fix the skipping audio on itunes 10.7. after update

After updating itunes to 10.7 all of my music will randomly skip or become choppy. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how this can be fixed ?

If you run Windows Media Player does it have those tracks? WMP is a likely candidate and may have moved the tracks where it wants them to be. If so I can offer some advice on how to get WMP to leave your iTunes library alone and some scripts to repair the damage.
