How do I fix corrupted BIOS? tx2500

My tx2500 gives the double LED flash that signals it has a corrupted BIOS. According to this URL you can "restore BIOS from onboard backup (jumpers)." If anybody has an idea what this means and how to fix my computer I would be very thankful.

Here are two possible methods to restore that BIOS:

Option: see if your system can Restore the BIOS:
Select your Notebook from this List of tx2500 Series
Go to:
Solve a Problem > Memory (RAM) / Motherboards / BIOS > BIOS / UEFI > Restoring the BIOS
For example, if the HP Pavilion tx2500 CTO is your notebook, then this is your Page: Restoring the BIOS
Option - Use the UEFI environment to Restore the BIOS
From a Complete shut down condition (all off),
Press the power button and
Immediately tap the ESC key to get into the "Start Menu"
Select "F2" to start the HP Advanced Systems Diagnostics menu screen
Select BIOS / Firmware Management
Option - Download the BIOS file from your notebook's own webpage -- Software and Downloads section
Extract the contents and put the files onto the root of a USB thumbdrive
Connect the thumbdrive to a USB 2.0 port on your system
Connect the AC power adapter.
From a complete shut down condition (all off),
Press the power button and
Immediately hold the Windows key while tapping on the "B" key
The BIOS update process should start
Follow the prompts to restore your BIOS, using the BIOS file on your thumbdrive

Hello. My computer had crashed. So i installed another windows on crashed C drive
Later i copied my entire profile folder to another drive and reinstalled windows clean
Now i copied back my entire firefox folder
Everything works however firefox can't see any passwords. It creates are file logins.json.corrupt
When i check file with notepad++ i can see saved password sites etc.
So maybe only small part of it is corrupted however i don't know how to fix
How can i fix it ? It is extremely important for me

Firefox 32 and later builds store the passwords in the logins.json file in the profile folder and no longer use the signons.sqlite file. You can force Firefox to reimport the passwords from the signons.sqlite file.
• reset the '''signon.importedFromSqlite''' pref on the '''about:config''' page to the default value via the right-click context menu
• delete the '''logins.json''' file in the Firefox profile folder with Firefox closed
When you restart Firefox then you should have the '''signon.importedFromSqlite''' pref with the value set to true and you should have the passwords imported in the Password Manager unless there may have been errors.
You can use this button to go to the currently used Firefox profile folder:
Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)

The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information.

To Reset Firefox do the following:
#Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
#Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
#Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
#Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.

How can you fix corrupt Project Files in Final Cut Pro X?

Hello All,
I have reason to believe that one of my project files in Final Cut Pro X is corrupt.
How may I begin to resolve this issue? Is there a third party software someone could recommend, like Digital Rebellion (if they have software for FCP X, I'm not sure) that may improve, if not hopefully solve this issue?

I will like to let you know that a few month back, I bought this S10-2 directly from Leveno, USA, but regrettably with in a a few days, I realized that this machine has the following problems:
1) The "dll files" are corrupt, details are as follows:
advpack.dll
dnsapi.dll
gdi32.dll
msv1_0.dll
2) Power Options: Control Panel / Power Options / Advance (Power buttons) has 3 options (default)
a) When I close the lid of my portable computer : Stand by
Kindly note that when I do this my system enters the stand by mode but after an hour or two even when the lid is close position, it wakes up again which I feel is a mall function and need a fix.
I will also like you to know that as of date I have repeatedly restored the machine to Factory Settings with a hope to fix the above problems but in vain as such I thought of approaching this august forum not only to educate myself as to how the files got corrupt but also to find a permanent fix, if possible?
Since I am out of USA where warranty facility can't be availed, hence I do look forward to hearing from a guru, who can bail me out!

prefer to update BIOS ...after that procedure ...recover to factory again...that should fix that prob...

Did you try to open teh fle by double-clicking its icon? If the file was made with an older version of Office, you may get that message. Try opeing PP and, from its "File" menu, see if you can open the ppt. I've foundthat often gets around that message and then yo ucan save the file from the newer version.

you can remove preferences files by navigating to the Preferences folder for your user as follows:
0) Quit ALL iWork apps (Keynote, Pages and Numbers)
1) from the Finder select the menu item "Go > Go To Folder…". This will bring up a dialog:
2) enter the path "~/Library/Preferences" (no double quotes)
3) find the files:
com.apple.iWork.Keynote.plist
com.apple.iWork.Numbers.plist
com.apple.iWork.Pages.plist
and move these to the trash. I would NOT empty until later.
4) restart Numbers

I had the same problem. In the end I downloaded it manually. Here's the steps assuming you are on a Mac and have an iPad Air (Wifi). If not you can find other restore links here.
In the terminal (it kept failing to download in Safari):
curl http://appldnld.apple.com/iOS7.1/031-4521.20140310.D2Ydl/iPad4,1_7.1_11D167_Rest ore.ipsw >>~/Desktop/iPad4,1_7.1_11D167_Restore.ipsw
Once the file has downloaded, move it to ~/Library/iTunes/iPad Software Updates/
Quit and relaunch iTunes.
Should now work for you.

Well, it is a pdf file, and it once was a readable one, I suppose.
It must have data on the hex or binary level that can be retrieved.
If necessary, I will have to look into the file format of a PDF file? Is this documented?

Custom ribbon on network somehow corrupted. How do I fix?

I am a teacher using Word 2013 on a network. I created customs ribbons for all the lab computers on one computer, and this was imaged onto all our lab computers in September. All users could access them.
Sometime in the last few months the custom ribbons got corrupted. When I tried to demonstrate to my students the other day, the "align center" button (which was part of a custom group) was visible, but grayed out so we couldn't use
it. I also had a custom button for Online Pictures, and that has disappeared. In addition, Word Art is visible as an option, but it doesn't work when you choose it.
1. Can anyone speculate what happened and how I can fix it? Is it possible to somehow restore the customizations I made? Even if I try to create a NEW custom ribbon under my username, I can't get the "align center" button to be
enabled. I suppose we could go to the default ribbon, but its very complicated for my kindergarten and first grade students.
2. If I re-do a custom ribbon, how do I make it available to all network users on a computer?

In regarding of your network environment, I have some confused. Did you deploy all the lab computers with the customs ribbons? If it was, did the customs ribbons corrupt in every lab computer?
For your first question, I recommend you export a customized ribbon which named
"Word Customizations.exportedUI". It'll help you import them if you have to reinstall the Word (or other Office programs) or if you want to move the same customizations to a different computer; for example, if you have to replace your computer.
Then we try to
repair Office 2013 to fix "align center" button.
For your second question, please put the "Word Customizations.exportedUI"
in a shared folder. And we import it to all the computers one by one.

I've had to use code like the above to delete user profiles before - however - I would strongly suggest excluding the loop from the above code - otherwise you'll be deleting ALL user profiles - which doesn't seem to be what you want to do
