How do I fix downloads that terminate after only a few kb's?

I have recently begun to experience file downloads terminating just after they start downloading. This leaves a few kilobytes of information and a filename in my downloads folder and no explanation anywhere as to why. It happens intermittently and is happening more and more. I have recently upgraded to Lion v10.7.2, and I'm using Safari 5.1.1. This all started when I got my newest iPhone4S, upgraded my other iPhones and iPads to iOS5, and migrated my MobileMe account to iCloud. I have the same download experiences in a current version of Chrome as well. I have been using the same ISP for years at a 12Meg download speed without incident. They confirm they have not recently made changes that would affect my internet experience.
Any thoughts or suggestions most welcome.

Well, your ISP would say that, wouldn't they? Does your ISP impose a limit on the amount of data you are allowed to download per month? Are you connecting with WiFi or Ethernet? Have you reset your router, and your cable modem if you have one?
You might take a look at your system logs with the Console app (in your Applications/Utilities folder, or from the Launchpad Utilities folder), if you are willing to search through tons of information.
On your Mac you might try some of the Internet connectivity tools at dslreports.com.
Are you experiencing any Internet connectivity or download issues on any of your other devices? You might try this on your iPad or iPhone.
Good luck. Diagnosing network connectivity problems is seldom easy.

You could try booting into Safe Mode to see if that will help. And "Repair Permissions" in Disk Utility.
Have you got Keychain set to open on Login or is it attempting to open on it's own.

What you can re-download will depend upon what country that you are in (music, films and/or tv shows can't be re-downloaded in all) and the type of item (audiobooks and ringtones are one-time only downloads) - the Purchased tabs in the iTunes and App Store apps, and in the ibookstore in the iBooks app, will show what you can re-download. If other items of the same type show there but a particular item doesn't (and it's still in the store) then you could check to see if anything is hidden : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4919

Before you begin the import, edit the properties of the tracks to set the Album Artist to Various Artists and Part of a Compilation to Yes.

In Xcode, set your Targets iOS Application Target Devices to iPhone; you must have it set to Universal currently.

I'm just downloaded the creative cloud installer. Double click on the install file, it starts the installation and after only a few seconds it stops and nothing happens. What is going on?

I am having the same problem. Sorry I don't know an answer but would love help too.
I'm on a Mac - OSX10.9.3
Downloaded installer which opened to the point that I had the icon in my toolbar but it seemed to get stuck at that point - about 7 hours of scrolling "update cycle" (swirly thing in middle of the empty CC window) but no App tab or other tabs - just a white rectangle with scrolling.
So I tried un-installing, deleted all files, downloaded again but now I get the same as Scrapnick - installer launches with task bar at "Initializing Installer" which lasts only about 2 seconds, then flicks to "Dowloading Creative Cloud desktop" at which point the task bar & the installer window close.
I hope someone can help us with this...

Restart device: Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the home button together until the apple logo appears (ignore the ON/OFF slider) then let both buttons go and wait for device to restart (no data will be lost).

Apple TV quits syncing after only a few songs

I'm not sure when this problem started, but recently I've noticed that my Apple TV quits syncing after only a few songs. Sometimes it stops after only a few songs, or up to as many as 40 - 50. When I'm trying to sync 700 songs, this is a hassle. Any clues?

Are you certain that the syncing actually stops? Does the ATV disappear from iTunes when this happens?
(As I mentioned on another thread, I thought that my syncing was stopping because the ATV was disappearing from iTunes, but I've subsequently learned that the sync does continue, even after the ATV blips out.)

Try a couple things.......first, reboot your iPad. Press and hold BOTH the power and home buttons at the SAME tiem for at least 10 seconds (ignore the red slider to shut down) until the Apple Logo appears, then let go of both buttons and your iPad will restart.
Sometimes, the App Store on iPad can get confused. Try downloading a free app (you can delete it later if you don't want it) and then see if that get's your waiting apps to download.

How can I fix repetitive 'fontd' crashes after recovery from time machine backup?

Back up all data.
Launch the Font Book application and validate all fonts. You must select the fonts in order to validate them. See the built-in help and this support article for instructions. If Font Book finds any issues, resolve them, then boot in safe mode to rebuild the font caches. Boot again as usual and test.
Note: If FileVault is enabled under OS X 10.7 or later, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t boot in safe mode. In that case, ask for instructions.
