How do I fix duplicate iCloud Movies?

This problem only applies to movies I have purchased from the iTunes Store....
Every so often, I find that iTunes does not properly register that I have successfully downloaded a movie, and therefore it downloads it again.  On other occasions, iTunes treats the HD and SD versions of the same movie as different movies.  This results in many movies showing twice in iTunes (and on any device that uses this shared library, such as an AppleTV.
For movies not purchased through iTunes Store, the fix is simple - delete the movie you don't want.  Unfortunately with iTunes Store movies, you're still left with the duplicate movie poster icon, with a cloud symbol in the bottom right corner.  The only option then is to start "hiding" these duplicates, but it seems like a very messy solution and I have found that then all copies of the same movie can become "hidden".
Is there a better way to properly fix this issue?

Open System Preferences > iCloud and uncheck Contacts.
Check Contacts.app to see if the muiltiple listings are removed.
Add back in System Preferences.
Do they show back up?
If yes, turn off again in System Preferences.
Go to the User's Library folder. This folder is hidden by default. To unhide: Select the Finder in the Dock. Under Go in the Menu bar > hold down the Option key and you’ll see the Library.
Open Application Support folder. Rename AddressBook to AddressBookXX
Scroll to Containers folder. Drag com.apple.AddressBook to Desktop.
Scroll to Preferences. Drag com.apple.AddressBook.plist to Desktop.
Log out under the Apple in the Menu bar.
Open Contacts.
In System Preferences > iCloud check sync Contacts.
(note: I don't have Mountain Lion installed to verify Containers folder)

  • How do I remove duplicate iCloud calendar entries in iTunes

Hello Everyone and thanks in advance for any help on this issue!
The main issue is that in iTunes>Devices>Info>Sync Calendars, I see of Local calendars listed and also iCloud calendars listed (they show a portion of the address (CalDAV?) that they use to sync), and the issue is that I have DUPLICATE iCloud calendar entries here and I would love to remove them.
    Here is my setup:
MBP with Lion and iPhone 3G with all updates.
All of my calendars sync with iCloud (I also have an iPad, but not issue with it.) and there are no duplicate calendars or events in iCloud on the web, so this is fine.
I sync my iCloud/iCal calendars to my iPhone 3G (iOS 4.2.1) via iTunes and this is going well, so no problems here, either.
I would just like to remove the duplicate iCloud calendars from iTunes under the Info pane so as to simplify life and my understanding. Also, there are other apps (like TimeTable) that go and read the master list of calendars. So, on this app, I see ALL of the calendars by name without being able to distinguish them any other way.
Any ideas as to how I can climb inside of iTunes and remove the duplicate iCloud calendar entries?
    Thanks!
    Blessings,
    Justin

I can confirm that there are no duplicate contacts. Currently, because I use an iPhone 3G, my contacts are only being synced via iTunes, not via iCloud.
My question relates not to duplicate calendar events, but to duplicate calendar addresses (in iCloud) in iTunes' Info pane.
    Here is a pic:
So, you can see that there are 2 entries for 'Personal', each with the iCloud address (CalDAV?) attached to it. Note that one entry says, 'Personal iCld' instead of just 'Personal'. This is because I renamed all of my iCloud calendars in iCal to see if that would help me distinguish the 'working' calendars from the duplicate entries.
I would love to be able to get rid of the extra calendars in iTunes to avoid confusion. I do not have any duplicate calendar entries on any devices at this point. I think part of this is because I have deslected the duplicate calendar references in iTunes.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Justin

That is correct. That is Activation Lock, the antitheft feature of the iPhone. Only the person who registered the old Apple ID and has the password can unlock it.

  • How can i fix the cursor movements in a gridpane cells in javafx 2.2

    Sir,
i want to fix cursor movements in gridpane cells controls like TextFields created by scene builder or javafx 2.2.
I need cursor in some TextFields and not in some.
How can I code that my cursor jump from one field to some other which i want.
I shall be very gratefull to you for this kindness.
    Regads

    Hey,
I'm not sure to understand your question. But I suppose you want to change the focus order on your elements?
So when you press Tab, your cursor/focus moves to the next element.
This order is set by the way you put your elements in the scene builder from top to bottom.
So in your Hierarchy menu, you will see something like this:
    GridPane .. x ..
-- TextField (This element is the first one who retrieves focus)
-- TextField (When press Tab, this TextField get focus)
-- TextField (When press Tab again, this TextField get the focus)
If you want to do it with code, you can use the function setFocus().

  • How do you delete an iCloud movie to clear space on your computer?

My computer says that the storage disk is almost full, and when I looked at my storage information it says I have too many movies.  So I went back into iTunes and I try to delete my movies (which are all under iCloud) and they aren't removed from my computer nor does space clear on my computer.

Content in iCloud is not on your computer.
For information about the Other category in the Storage display, see this support article. If the Storage display seems to be inaccurate, try rebuilding the Spotlight index.
Empty the Trash if you haven't already done so. If you use iPhoto, empty its internal Trash first:
              iPhoto ▹ Empty Trash
Do the same in other applications, such as Aperture, that have an internal Trash feature. Then restart the computer. That will temporarily free up some space.
According to Apple documentation, you need at least 9 GB of available space on the startup volume (as shown in the Finder Info window) for normal operation. You also need enough space left over to allow for growth of the data. There is little or no performance advantage to having more available space than the minimum Apple recommends. Available storage space that you'll never use is wasted space.
When Time Machine backs up a portable Mac, some of the free space will be used to make local snapshots, which are backup copies of recently deleted files. The space occupied by local snapshots is reported as available by the Finder, and should be considered as such. In the Storage display of System Information, local snapshots are shown as  Backups. The snapshots are automatically deleted when they expire or when free space falls below a certain level. You ordinarily don't need to, and should not, delete local snapshots yourself. If you followed bad advice to disable local snapshots by running a shell command, you may have ended up with a lot of data in the Other category. Ask for instructions in that case.
See this support article for some simple ways to free up storage space.
You can more effectively use a tool such as OmniDiskSweeper (ODS) or GrandPerspective (GP) to explore the volume and find out what's taking up the space. You can also delete files with it, but don't do that unless you're sure that you know what you're deleting and that all data is safely backed up. That means you have multiple backups, not just one. Note that ODS only works with OS X 10.8 or later. If you're running an older OS version, use GP.
Deleting files inside an iPhoto or Aperture library will corrupt the library. Any changes to a photo library must be made from within the application that created it. The same goes for Mail files.
Proceed further only if the problem isn't solved by the above steps.
ODS or GP can't see the whole filesystem when you run it just by double-clicking; it only sees files that you have permission to read. To see everything, you have to run it as root.
    Back up all data now.
If you have more than one user account, make sure you're logged in as an administrator. The administrator account is the one that was created automatically when you first set up the computer.
Install the app you downloaded in the Applications folder as usual. Quit it if it's running.
Triple-click anywhere in the corresponding line of text below on this page to select it, then copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:
    sudo /Applications/OmniDiskSweeper.app/Contents/MacOS/OmniDiskSweeper
    sudo /Applications/GrandPerspective.app/Contents/MacOS/GrandPerspective
Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window by pressing command-V. You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The application window will open, eventually showing all files in all folders, sorted by size. It may take a few minutes for the app to finish scanning.
I don't recommend that you make a habit of doing this. Don't delete anything as root. If something needs to be deleted, make sure you know what it is and how it got there, and then delete it by other, safer, means. When in doubt, leave it alone or ask for guidance.
When you're done with the app, quit it and also quit Terminal.

  • How do I delete duplicate iCloud Notes Folders?

I have come across duplicate Notes folders attached to my iCloud account that only show up on my iPhone 5s and not on the iCloud website.  Is there a way to delete these folders from my phone? I've been searching for quite some time.  Any thoughts help

If they don't appear on iCloud.com, try going to Settings>iCloud, turn Notes off (they will still be in iCloud), reset your device (hold the power and home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo, then release), then go back and turn Notes on again.  Do they still appear?

  • How do I fix Keychains/iCloud?

I could not remember my password, so I found a forum post that said I could reset it at login by pressing certain keys (can't remember). I reset my password and was able to login. Ever since, I constantly asked for Keychain passwords. I can't access anything on my iCloud (I've already changed my iCloud password). And my internet will not connect. I deleted all of the Keychains and certificates but they still pop up when I want to access mail or imessage. I don't know what I did, and I need help to fix this.

I don't know what you did either but perhaps the following will help:

I have a dlink NAS server that I'd like to use as a network itunes server.  Problem is that it seems to create multiple duplicates of just about everything I have.  As a result I'll have 3 - 4 of everything.
Question - is there a way, or an application that anyone is aware of, that will let me to search for and delete duplicates on the NAS server?

My ICloud Tabs on my iPhone won't update it's filled with all this old stuff!

Check the mute switch on the side above the volume rocker. If the red dot shows, the phone is muted. You'll still be able to play the ringtones to select one.
I find that the switch can be thrown to "mute" by accident when I put my iPhone in my belt holster.

Move the content from the old computer to the new computer.
Sync the iPhone via cable to the new computer and enable Wi-Fi syncing.
It should now be possible to sync via Wi-Fi to the new computer.

  • HT1436 My Power Mac G5 will not fully boot without safe mode, it only comes to a blue screen where my cursor duplicates in to 2, (one is frozen, one can move by moving the mouse). What is my problem, and how do I fix it?

My Power Mac G5 will not fully boot without safe mode, it only comes to a blue screen where my cursor duplicates in to 2, (one is frozen, one can move by moving the mouse). What is my problem, and how do I fix it?

    Great clue Lukas...
One way to test is to Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, Test for problem in Safe Mode...
PS. Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive
    Reboot, test again.
If it only does it in Regular Boot, then it could be some hardware problem like Video card, (Quartz is turned off in Safe Mode), or Airport, or some USB or Firewire device, or 3rd party add-on, Check System Preferences>Accounts>Login Items window to see if it or something relevant is listed.
Check the System Preferences>Other Row, for 3rd party Pref Panes.
Also look in these if they exist, some are invisible...

You might need to use a faster internet connection or stonger wifi signal, or download them to your iTunes library (see http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519) and sync them to your iPad to watch them.
