Sorry to say but you might be. I have seen it all too many times with A/V programs causing issues like this. I would check for A/V updates with your IT dept as sometimes an update can help. Worse case, if your music is purchased, you can download it directly on your phone.

the link shows exactly what happened on my iphone 4s. i tried to reset, restore. i ended in recovery mode, stuck on my screen is itune icon and usb cable. btw i tried restoring it using itune but ends with error (21) on may laptop(windows.) and error 2001 using imac.
-my iphone 4s was bought by my brother in saudi. im using it here in philipines so its hard to apply for the waranty since iphone product have jurisdiction said by the tech guy from service center here in philippines. they are not allowed to replace/repair my unit..

Your only chance is to restore, possibly as new without using any backup. If this phone was ever jailbroken, restoring may not work. Otherwise, you have a hardware failure that requires warranty replacement.

I have noticed that if I take landscape shots with people in them, I cannot upload those files to a computer and rotate them... the message that comes up is "You cannot rotate this image. The file might be in use or open by another program, or the file or folder might be read only." All other non-human-face based photos can rotate all the time... I've tried many different computer programs (adobe, windows photo manager, etc...) and they all bring up this error.

Both vertical (camera button down) and landscape (volume buttons up)... The trippy thing is that it seems to have something to do with facial or people recognition in the phone... does iP have this ability - like a smile sensor? All the landscape non people shots rotate no matter... only, only when people are prominently in the photo does the file error happen.

If you have important files that haven't been backup then you can try this by holding down power and home till it restarts and release when you see apple logo.
If you have nothing to lose, you can do a fresh restore by holding down power and home for 10 seconds and after 10 seconds release power but keep holding home till iTunes recognize it is in recovery mode and restore iphone.

Have you tried doing turning the battery level display off and then General -> "Reset all settings"? You won't loose any data and that should do the trick.

The following peocess corrects the calendar entry:
edit the contact & change the birthday, save the change; edit the contact & change the birthday to the correct value, save the change again. The calendar entry then displays on the correct date. Alternatively as a temp solution I can just de-select the "birthdays" calendar which stops the icon being displayed.
Thanks for your advice, I think that it's n going to be a slow process to fix all the entries for not much return.
