How do I fix? -iPod Touch Generation 4 frozen and jammed

I have an iPod Touch Generation 4 and the sleep button/lock screen button is jammed. I can't fix the jam no matter what and I've tried everything said online and such. I got a notification from an app and slid open, tapped in correct code, and the app opened immediately like usual. So when you rotate your iPod, the screen turns right? The screen was horizontal so I flipped the iPod vertically and it didn't move so I tried again because, hey, might be lagging. Nope. For a good three minutes it stayed on the same screen. Slowly, the screen began to grey and fade and then it got all distorted and you can only see green and grey lines (green because that's the app's main color). Anyway, I don't mind the jam that's not the problem, I have it so you can press the dot on the screen to get it to go to the lock screen. The only problem is my ipod is completely frozen and I have my contacts, passwords, photos, music, ect on that ipod and I need it. Please help me?

Try:
- To make a backup since the other actions may erase the iPod
iOS: How to back up and restore your content
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
When it says place the iPod in recovery mode sue one of these programs
For PC
RecBoot: Easy Way to Put iPhone into Recovery Mode
If necessary:
Download QTMLClient.dll & iTunesMobileDevice.dll for RecBoot
For MAC or PC
The Firmware Umbrella - TinyUmbrella
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

If your iDevice is using a version of iOS lower than 5, you will need to use iTunes on your syncing computer to perform the upgrade. Use the Apple link below as a guide for the upgrade.

  • How do I fix iPod Touch's white screen?

    Hello,
So I'm having this problem with my iPod Touch 3rd Generation, where appears to be fully blank (white), and I've tried different methods that was mentioned on the internet including:
    Turn it on/off
Hold home and power button for 40 seconds
    Restore iPod
    Drain the battery
The thing is, none of these methods worked, sometimes it would go back to normal, but then 5 seconds later it will start flickering and turn white again. On a side note, everything works fine, that was how I managed to turn it off, so the iPod functions properly, you hear the sounds, but you can't see the screen 'cause it's all white. Just wanna ask if there's other methods I should try or should I visit the Apple Store (ps. I bought my iPod in another country )?
    Thanks,
    Eric

  • How can I resolve iPod Touch 4th gen charging and iTunes connection issue?

I have an iPod Touch 4th generation and the other day it stopped charging.  When I pug it in, it appears to be receiving a minimal charge to keep it alive, but isn't restoring the battery life and doesn't show that the battery is accepting the charge.  After plugging it in for a day, the battery was only partially charged to approximately 20%.  I've tried several USB cables and different plug-ins to no avail.
Then I tried to connect it to the computer and iTunes doesn't recognize it.  I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Apple Device Manager and iTunes software, and resetting the iPod.  I've also tried holding the sleep and home buttons at the same time while connecting the iPod to the computer with iTunes software open.  Nothing seems to work.  I have other iPods/iPhones that connect to iTunes without issue, so it is isolated event with this iPod Touch.  I was hoping to restore the iPod to its original settings to see if that would do the trick, but am unable to figure out how without iTunes.  Any suggestions?  help!

    Not Charge
    - See:
    iPod touch: Hardware troubleshooting
    - Try another cable. Some 5G iPods were shipped with Lightning cable that were either initially defective or failed after short use.
    - Try another charging source
    - Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
    - Make an appointment at the Genus Bar of an Apple store.

  • TS1363 How to fix ipod when screen is frozen and appears locked?

I'd also like to figure out how I can sync music from my computer seemlessly without clearing all the music on my ipod, then transfering it all back including a few new tracks (head scratcher).

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

    For how to restore:
    iTunes: Restoring iOS software
    To restore from backup see:
    iOS: How to back up
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

  • How to fix ipod touch?

I have a 4th generation ipod touch which was jailbroken and was running on the 4.3.3 update. I went to try and restore and update it to the newest update out and it stuck me in recovery mode and I can't get out of it. I have already looked up different ways and none of them worked. the only screen I can see is the usb cord with an arrow pointing toward the itunes symbol. I have tried to put it in DFU mode and that doesn't work. when I plug it into the computer, It only gives me the option to restore and update it. When I click on that it says its restoring it for about half an hour then it pops up with an error and says it can't restore it. Any ideas how to fix this so I can use it again?

Do you get an error number?
We can't really provide you help here as you voided your warranty when you did the jailbreak. Google the error number you are getting or use one of the forums for whichever jailbreak you used.

  • How to fix ipod touch 4g home button(jammed)

How to fix ipod touch 4g home button(jammed)?

Hey! So I found out this free way to be able to use the home button with no cost! It won't unjam it, but using this method you will have a touchscreen homebutton.
    Directions:
    1. Go to Settings
    2. Go to General
    3. Scroll down and go to Accessibility
    4. Scroll down and go to Assistive Touch
    5. Then turn assistive touch on.
What you will see is a little white circle on the screen. When you tap this circle you have the Home button option(which functions all the ways of your jammed home button). As well as a few other options; Device, Favorites and Gestures. You can move that circle about the screen for your convenience. This is just a way to have a home button without paying to restore.
