How do I fix my broken bookmark editing

First off, I have been having disk error problems with Ubuntu, and I think that a file that involves the bookmarks was corrupted. I did remove and reinstall the latest firefox package with Synaptic and apt-get (they do the same thing right?) But I still have this problem: I can not add or modify my bookmarks in the toolbar. I can go to the window to organize my bookmarks but its like nothing is there on the left main view box or the right that shows the bookmarks. If I try to import or restore, it does nothing. Thanks for the help!

quit iTunes
trashed ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iTunes.plist
started iTunes, and authorised my account
Worked straight away after that !

How do I fix a broken SMB protocol so my Sonos sytem works again?

I'm new to this, so bear with me.
I have been running a Sonos Play 3 since June 2013 without any problems. Two days ago I got a messsage on the Sonos Controller software saying;
"Unable to play ‘song name’ - cannot connect to //'my mac'/Music because the server cannot be found"
So I put in a ticket with Sonos Support and they've told me the following;
"The bug is not with Sonos, we see this problem a lot with Macs because SMB is broken. Sonos is able to play your music on your computer because your computer has to share the folder on the network. It does this with with a protocol called SMB.
If you don't want to upgrade I recommend you purchase a NAS(network attached storage) drive and move your music to it and share the NAS drive to Sonos."
I don't really want to run Mavericks because I'm used to Lion.
So my question is this - how to a fix a broken SMB? Can a borken SMB be fixed?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you have Apple Care or your computer is still under warranty, call and get a case number. At least you will not have to pay for the repair if the crack is not "accidental" damage.

How do I fix my broken Wi-Fi?

I'm getting incredibly tired of my iPhone 4S (iOS 7.1.1) not being able to connect to Wi-Fi. Without it, I'm not able to do much, and I've already done most of the suggestions I've seen in the forums such as:
- Reset Network Connections
- Reset the entire phone then restored it
- Reset the phone and set it up as new
with no results.
What happens on my phone is this:
The Wi-Fi circle is permanently blacked out (Unavailable) when I swipe up on my screen. When it isn't, however, it's off, and I click it, it "turns on", but when I swipe down and pull it back up, it's back to off (But "Available"). I then try to go to settings and the Wi-Fi'll either say "Not Connected" or "Off" and whenever I click on it, it freezes and I have to do the power + home button reset. Sometimes, I'll be able to get into the Wi-Fi tab and my access point'll appear, but it'll say it can't connect. I've read that I might just have a burnt out Wi-Fi chip or something, but all I know is I'm leaning closer and closer to the blowdryer and freezer method I keep hearing works.

Try one if the "far out" approaches. There is apparently a hardware problem with your iPhone. You might get lucky.

How do I fix my broken PSE 9 Organiser program?

I'm about ready to scream!
Whenever I open PSE 9 Organiser, it opens to show that it is generating thumbnails and the hourglass is not moving at all. Then if I dare to do anything at all and I do mean anything, it stops responding and I have to shut it down via ctrl-alt-delete or the Windows not responding pop-up window.
So, what have I tried to fix it?
I have updated to SP2 after disabling user account control
I have removed the thumbs.5.cache more than once and then tried to update the thumbnails with no success, as the program just froze on me
I have tried to "repair" the catalog, but the program just freezes as soon as I click on File
I have tried to "optimize" the catalog, but the program just freezes as soon as I click on File
I have also uninstalled and re-installed the program, though without any appreciable difference in performance, (I did not actually search and remove all PSE 9 files, I just made use of the Uninstall feature in Settings)
Now, you may understand my fustration in trying to get this program working as well as it did when I first installed it.
So, could anyone please tell me what I should do to get this program to work as it should?

I have a user profile that is corrupt. In CA, under People, Manage User Profiles, I can't find the broken user profile but when I try to create profile again with New Profile. It won't let me. As it says the Profile exists already. How do I

I've had to use code like the above to delete user profiles before - however - I would strongly suggest excluding the loop from the above code - otherwise you'll be deleting ALL user profiles - which doesn't seem to be what you want to do

That should work the same way. However, you might want to check "Unsorted Bookmarks" to see whether they are in there. This can be found at the bottom of the Bookmarks Sidebar (Ctrl+b to open).

how do I get back the "File Edit View History Bookmarks Yahoo! Tools Help" line of text that I could click on for options that used to be at the top of the browser window above the taps

I did that (I think I did) however the confusion is that I get only part of the menu and not the most important menu items like "file" "edit" etc. with all the drop downs. It is so freaky - my other computers have no problem like this and I and show the menu bar or not just like you described. I really doubt anyone really understands my problem with it. I took some screen shots of the good computer version and the bad one so someone can "see" exactly what I am seeing. This may be a one of a kind gremlin issue, LOL. Anyway, without those menu items, I am very limited on the usefulness of FireFox on that computer so I have to rely more on Chrome for those features and use the FireFox with Billeo and other tools that still work. Someday it may magically fix itself, LOL.
Of the two images, one is the good computer and the other is the bad. The bad one shows the only way to see the menu items however they disappear after I am done with the custom menu and no other time can I get the items to "appear" it is like they are there but cannot get them to show when in the normal menu bar mode.
