How do I fix my iTunes which keeps having an unknown error when I try to download a song?
My iTunes is not allowing me to download music, I enter my password which is correct and it says 'unknown error' and just gives me the option to retry or cancel and then still doesn't work.
Help would be great thank you.

I have an older Ipod Touch that is (I believe) the third generation because I have no camera on my ipod. I recently changed my Apple ID and password on my Itunes account. But when I try to update my apps or download new software/music my old apple ID comes up and I can't change it. On the itunes store and my settings it shows my new Apple account. How do I stop from my old account from coming up and my new account appearing when I try to download something new?
- To change ID go to Settings>Store and sign out and sign in with the one you want. If you iPod has iOS 5 you may have to also go to Settings>iCloud and sign into the second account.
- Apps are locked to the account that purchased them.
- To update apps you have to sign into the account that purchased the apps. If you have apps that need updating purchased from more than one account you have to update them one at a time until the remaining apps were purchased from one account. -

TS3297 changed itune account; get "unknown error" when I try to download updates
I had a shared itune account. The main account changed email address and password. I opened up a new itune account with the old email address and a differnent password. I can log into the account. I can not update applications
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar.
Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then try the action that you're having trouble with again. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting. -
I have just required a second hand mac and when I try to download a song or import a cd to iTunes an error notice says that I am not priveledged to make changes? The preference settings and apple I'd seem to be ok. How do I fix this?

I've never seen this issue, and I handle many iPads, of all versions. WiFi issues are generally local to the WiFi router - they are not all of the same quality, range, immunity to interference, etc. You have distance, building construction, and the biggie - interference.
At home, I use Apple routers, and have no issues with any of my WiFi enabled devices, computers, mobile devices, etc - even the lowly PeeCees. I have locations where I have Juniper Networks, as well as Aruba, and a few Netgears - all of them work as they should.
The cheaper routers, Linksys, D-Link, Seimens home units, and many other no name devices have caused issues of various kinds, and even connectivity.
I have no idea what Starbucks uses, but I always have a good connection, and I go there nearly every morning and get some work done, as well as play.
You could try changing channels, 2.4 to 5 Gigs, changing locations of the router. I have had to do all of these at one time or another over the many years that I have been a Network Engineer.

When I try to download a song or a video on my ipad it starts to download and then before it finishes it stops and says download error. Tap to retry. Any suggestions on how to fix this error and get my items that I purchased to download?

I keep getting an unknown error when trying to connect to the store. I ran diagnostics and it says secure link to itunes store failed. I've tried all suggestions from apple and nothing will work.
Please HelpI received this email from Apple and this corrected the problem for me... I only had to reset the iTunes cache
1) Open iTunes
2) At the top menu, click File > Preferences (iTunes > Preferences on a Mac)
3) In the Preferences menu, click the Advanced tab
4) In the Advanced menu, you should see a button that says "Reset Cache". Please click this button. -
I keep getting this error when I try to download apps or songs : MZCommerce.CreditBalance Mismatch.Mobile_message Can someone tell me how to get rid of this? It is very aggravating when trying to use the IPAD.
Try to go to Settings and then Store. Tap to your Apple ID and select View Apple ID. Now choose to check your payment information and when you're done tap Done. I had to rewrite my three digit code of the credit card and now it works.
Oh, I also activated Genius for Apps but I don't think it makes any difference. -
I am upgrading from iPhone 3 to 5. I have backed up my 3 on iTunes. I keep getting an error when I try to download all info to the 5. The error says I have disconnect my phone but I haven't. Happened multiple times. Any help would be appreciated.

First, turn off your CAPS lock. Typing in all CAPS is considered screaming/yelling and many will simply ignore your posting.
Are you currently having issues? Is it when trying to purchase only on the device? Are you able to complete purchases via iTunes on your computer? -
I try to redeem an iTunes GC and I get a "Session Has Timed Out" Message. The same thing happens when I try to download a song, after I'm taken to the SLA page. I sent Apple Support an email. They told me its software on my computer restricting access to my Internet Connection, but I haven't installed any new software since my last purchase from the iTunes Store. What can I do to fix this?!?! Thanks

I just downloaded Acrobat and it won't work. Why won't it work? I keep having it quit unexpectedly when I try to launch it. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling. I've tried restarting my computer. Any suggestions? I fit all they system requirements.

The operation can’t be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code -50)I would get an external drive today and copy all your stuff off the TC.. forget trying to load more onto it. There is a good chance after 3years (A 2TB should be only about 2years tops), the disk or the TC itself is on the way out. Do it immediately. If TM is also failing to backup you need to recognise symtoms of impending doom.
Unfortunately the error messages are archane and it is hard to discover their meaning.
You also cannot verify a network drive.. you can verify the TM sparsebundle though so do that.

Reboot the whole network from off.. certainly if you run later OS it can simply lose the drive..
If you still fail to be able to copy to the TC.. then get that external and copy off it. Tell us if you can do that.
