hi how do i get my screen to go back to normal somehow it flipped and now it is sideways i have to turn it on the side to read what is on the screen and i don't know how it happened or how to fix it can you please help me fix it i use this for school and to talk to my parents when im away from them please help me thanks

Power dowm, power up, hold the these keys, before the start up chime.

Does it not work either way? Sending and receiving? Did you check the settings and make sure that nothing has changed? If you can receive email, but not send it, check the outgoing mail server setting. Make sure that your username and password are in there.
Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Your email account>Account>Outgoing mail server - tap the server name next to SMTP and check in the primary server and make sure your username and password are entered and correct - even if it says that the password is optional.

I've been having problems with my Ipod fo rmonths now. It just stopped on day and isn't responsive. The screen is black and when I press the home/start buttons nothing happens. Only the Voice Over comes on and says 'Ipod Touch Image'. I don't know what's wrong.

There are two different resets. The reset you did involved holding the sleep/wake & home button.
The other reset will do exactly what it says. That reset is located in Settings - General - Reset.
