How do I fix this?! Certain songs on my 6th gen nano will no longer play AT ALL, but they used to.
6th Gen iPod Nano will not play certain songs; it just skips over them to a song that WILL play. These are all songs that PREVIOUSLY played without any issue. They still play fine in iTunes on my computer. All mp3 format. Tried restoring several times. I've looked around online and have found that I'm not the only one experiencing this issue; however, I have yet to find any solution to the problem. Help!
Try running these songs through MP3 Validator to see if there any issues.
If nothing else, convert them to another format such as AAC via iTunes using the instructions in this Apple support document.

I have tried numerous solutions being posted in this support forum. I went in and deleted my places.sqlite file so that it created a whole new profile. I then tried to restore my bookmarks, and nothing happened.
I went in and discovered I had a places.sqlite.corrupt file. As suggested by one of the links provided in other articles, I deleted the other places.sqlite files, and then renamed the corrupt one as just places.sqlite. I restarted firefox and still nothing.

I tried just leaving the player in the paused/sleep mode instead of turning it off (someone said it will stay on the song you were just listening to--but no). Still goes back to nowhere (now playing = random and shuffle). I've read that this is a serious problem with the 6th gen. I don't use or like the shuffle feature. I use a sort list in my songlists to play in the order I want. I just want the player to remember which song I left off on and pick it back up from there when I get back to it. I have a 5th gen nano and 2 classics and they work great at going right back to where you left off. Seems like a no brainer to have it remember which song you were on in a songlist and not go back to a random shuffle (now playing) and hear the same song over. Anyone know any tricks to resolve this?

RobNo, the app does not have to completely restart. It gets shifted in its open state into storage. Similar to how a computer uses the hard disk when it has insufficient memory.
What complicates things is that sometimes memory does not get returned for reuse when you close an app. Thus yo should periodically double click the Home button and "delete" unnecessary apps from the multitasking dock and power off and then back on the iPod. -
I can't relax and listen to music as my nano will go to sleep after just one minute of not touching it. This is really irritating and needs to get fixed. Can anyone help? I've read the manual and it doesn't say anything about my problem.
Your nano is pausing playback when the screen goes dark. The reason for this is that it is not detecting your headset. You may be able to hear music, but the headset jack is not inserted enough for the nano to detect that it is there (or something is blocking the connection). Here are your three options:
Insert the headset jack harder. Most folks find that this solves their problem. If you can see ANY of the silver of the plug when it is inserted, it is NOT fully inserted. You should feel and hear a click" when it is fully inserted.
Clean out the crud in the headset port. If you have tried #1 and it just won't insert all the way, it is likely that you have crud in your headset jack. Shine a light in there. The entire inside of the jack is white, so if it looks dark down at the bottom, there is probably crud down there. You can try blowing it out or using canned air. Just understand that shoving anything else in there to clean it out will be taking your warranty into your own hands! However, I have cleaned mine out using whatever was handy and small enough to fit in there and so far so good. Your results may vary!
Take it to the Apple store. If you have really tried with 1 and 2 and it is still happening, then there might just be something up with your headset port or your headset jack. If it is the headset jack, you can look closely at that and be pretty sure if that is the problem. Try another headset to make sure. If you have worked all the way through to this point and it is still happening, it is time to take it to the Apple store.

This does not affect your photos or any database information (keywords, faces, places, ratings, etc) in any way - they are stored in the iPhoto library - the iPhoto preference file simply controls how iPhoto works - which is why renewing it is a good first step.

Ok, I used to be able to open links up in a new Tab using my middle mouse button. However, I updated firefox with the automatic Updates on the 26th of October and now I no longer can open links with my middle mouse button. Why? How do I fix this: you are running an operating system that Illustrator no longer supports?
This comes up ever time that I try to install Illustrator. I have a PC and have all of the necessary requirements (at least I think so) according to the System Requirements, yet this problem persists.
Check the requirements against your system. Search Google using "Illustrator System Requirements" and check for the version you are trying to install.

THE RADIO IN MY TRUCK IS IPOD COMPATABLE, IT HAS AN AUDIO VIDEO CABLE THAT COMES OUT OF IT THAT I PLUG INTO MY IPHONE TO PLAY ALL OF THE MUSIC OFF OF MY IPHONE ON MY CAR STEREO. ALTHOUGH THE RADIO IS DESIGNED TO WORK WITH IPOD AND NOT IPHONE, IT HAS ALWAYS WORKED EVER SINCE I PURCHASED THE PHONE. NOW THAT I UPGRADED TO THE NEWEST VERSION FOR IPHONE (1.1.3), THE MUSIC WILL NOT PLAY ON MY RADIO ANYMORE. THE PLAY LIST STILL SHOWS UP ON MY RADIO, HOWEVER THERE IS NO SOUND. MY PHONE NOW DISPLAYS A MESSAGE SAYING THAT IT IS ATTACHED TO A DEVICE THAT IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH IPHONE. IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN DO TO MAKE THIS CURRENT SOFTWARE VERSION PLAY MUSIC ON MY CAR RADIO? i had the same problem after i updated my iphone yesterday. today the phone did not wanna play any songs that i downloaded from i-tunes. the song i copied from my cds worked fine. i connected my laptop to the internet and played some songs from itunes and synchronized my phone after that.

On my new computer I installed Itunes. I wanted Itunes to use my portable harddrive for music, but instead it copied my library to the hard drive of my computer, filling it almost full. I didn't realize this happened until I synced my iphone to Itunes. How do I fix this? I want to delete the library from my hard drive of my computer, and use the library from my portable hard drive.
