How do i fix this Power Mac G5?
I have a power mac g5, it can go to safe boot, but when i turn it on regularly it works fine with the sound until it the screen turns into the a blue blank screen or it turns into a grey screen with two black lines. What to do?
One way to test is to Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, Test for problem in Safe Mode...
PS. Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive
Reboot, test again.
If it only does it in Regular Boot, then it could be some hardware problem like Video card, (Quartz is turned off in Safe Mode), or Airport in 10.4 & below, or 3rd party add-on, Check System Preferences>Accounts>Login Items window to see if it or something relevant is listed.
Check the System Preferences>Other Row, for 3rd party Pref Panes.
Also look in these if they exist, some are invisible...

Why can't I open and retrieve my files from iPhoto and my Address Book after importing the files from my Power Mac G5 to my new Mac Pro? I get a warning that says the new OS on my Pro doesn't open files from a Power Mac. Any idea how I can fix this?
For your addressbook, export the files to vCard on the PowerMac, then bring them over to your Mac Pro. For your iPhoto, copy the Users -> yourname -> Pictures folder to your Desktop on the Mac Pro, and open iPhoto on the Mac Pro holding the command and option keys. Select the library file from that Pictures folder and open it. It should import all the pictures into iPhoto as part of the rebuild process. How do I fix this problem, I have a mid 2010 mac mini. I put in both of my 4gb sticks of ram and when I power it on it beeps once every few seconds. The firmware is up to date, so what else could it be, cause this system is suppose to suppore 8gb of ram? please help and thanks

I have a Mac Pro 5.1 and after a power outage my usb ports on the back of the tower do not recognise the apple usb keyboard upon start up. If I leave the plug out and then insert the keyboard after start up it works fine. The same happens with the front usb ports. How do I fix this issue?

Just updated my iPhone 5s from ios 8.1 to 8.3. After the install it asked for Apple ID and password and to allow it to sync to Mac and iTunes. After following the steps my phone kept restarting - turning on and off and goes blank. How do I fix this??

The fix and it will wipe out anything on your iphone is to connect it to your computer and have the latest version on iTunes open. Hold the Power/Sleep and Home button till it blanks out. Keep holding the home button untill it says recovery mode on the screen of the computer and do a restore. -

I bought a Macbook Pro last February, and this is the first time this issue has occurred. My computer has been working fine, but this morning the battery icon is showing a big "X" through it, and when I unplug my power cord, the computer shuts off. Also, the power cord light is green, which I take to mean that it can't be charged anymore. How can I fix this?
Thanks!!I had similar issue with one of the macbooks in the office. Make sure you've got latest firmware installed (run Software Update). This resolved the issue for us instantly (you may need to reboot mac AFTER firmware upgrade for this to work).

To re-install iPhoto
1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2a: On 10.5: Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows: In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
/var/db/receipts/
2c: on 10.7 they're at
/private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
If you purchased it on the App Store you can find it in your Purchases List. -

There is no application called "Adobe" - you are either working with Adobe Acrobat or the free Adobe Reader. Open up the preferences for the application (Edit>Preferences), then go to the "General" category and modify the settings for "Scale for screen resolution". You will have to restart the application after you do that. Does that fix your problems?
