How do I fix this run time error crash on start up?

Whe I start Elements 10, it stops and waits at the "Organize" or "Edit" choice. (normal operation.) I chose edit and it crashes with a C++ run time error.

How to display "Non-Fatal Run-Time Error In Function Panel" dialog?

I'm learning how to develop an IVI-C specific driver using LabWindows/CVI. When I run my function from its function panel and it returns an error, I would like to display a dialog with both the error code and error message (as opposed to simply returning an error code on the function panel). This would save the user from having to call Prefix_error_message() to translate the error code to its error message. NI-DCPower driver is a good example of this behavior (see attached error dialog). How do I show the "Non-Fatal Run-Time Error In Function Panel" dialog? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Thank you for replying to my post. The checkErr is just an error handling macro defined in ivi.h to goto Error: tag when the function returns a non-zero value. I have been using the checkErr macro (as well as viCheckErr and other macros) in my driver.
Using the same hp34401a specific driver as an example, please allow me to explain my question in more details:
Let's take the hp34401a_close function as an example. It is a simple function with only a few lines of code:
When the hp34401a_close function is run from its front panel using an invalid session handle (e.g. "8" in this screen capture):
You will get three "Non-Fatal Run-Time Error" popup dialogs, one from each of the IVI library functions that it calls: Ivi_LockSession, Ivi_UnlockSession, and Ivi_Dispose. However, there is no "Non-Fatal Run-Time Error" popup dialog from the hp34401a_close itself.
My IVI-C specific driver is behaving identical to the hp34401a specific driver.
In comparison, if run niDCPower_close function from its front panel using an invalid session handle (using the same "8" in this screen capture):
You will only get one "Non-Fatal Run-Time Error In Function Panel" from the niDCPower_close function itself:
I think the behavior of niDCPower driver is much better than the hp34401a driver. It replaces the three "Non-Fatal Run-Time Error" popup dialogs from the IVI library with a single "Non-Fatal Run-Time Error In Function Panel" popup dialog from the driver function itself. I would like to do the same thing with my driver but have not figured out how to display a "Non-Fatal Run-Time Error In Function Panel" dialog. Thanks in advance for your help!

It sounds like you are unable to print from your computer to your printer. I would run through the troubleshooting steps in this article:

Make sure that the printer is powered on, has ink / toner, and that there are no alerts on the printer’s control panel. Note: If you cannot clear an alert on the printer's control panel, stop here and check the printer's documentation or contact the manufacturer for support.
Ensure the printer is properly connected to a USB port on the Mac or AirPort base station / Time Capsule. If the printer is a network-capable printer, make sure that it is properly connected to your home network.
Use Software Update to find and install the latest available updates. If an update is installed, see if the issue persists.
Open the Print & Scan pane or Print & Fax (Snow Leopard) pane in System Preferences.
Delete the affected printer, then add the printer again.
If the issue persists, try these additional steps:

Run time error when calling Start() method from an Output counter user control in my class.

I am new to DAQmx and .NET.
In my application I need to activate a clock out on counter 2 (HW pci 16 E 4).
I went through all the steps like the sampling examples but instead of Analog input
I used counter output , and setup the pulse ratios.
When I click the switch in the user interface ( a user control databinded to the clock output)
the output works. Since I need to activate it programmatically I tried to call the daQmxUserControl11.Start()
method but this causes the following error :
An unhandled exception of type 'NationalInstruments.DAQmx.DaqException' occurred in nationalinstruments.daqmx.dll
Additional information: Specified operation cannot be performed while the task is running.
Task Name: DAQmxTask1
Status Code: -200479
Any ideas on what am I doing wrong?

I also discovered that dragging the user control onto my user interface doesn't allow alternate activation.
( I actually tried stopping and then starting but the result was the same )
Calling the routines as indicated in the header comments also gave some hiccups ( I had to remark some code to get the system working progrtammatically.

How do I fix this? "Firefox is unable to start correctly (0xc0000056)" I can't start in Safe Mode, either.

My Firefox does not open, at all. When I try to open i get the message that says "Firefox is unable to start correctly (0xc0000056)". I have tried to run the Firefox crash report, which also does not run. I'm unable to start in safe mode, also. All I get, is the above message...nothing else.

I'm not using that extension, so I do not know which files are used in addition to sessionstore.js and you need to check the profile folder yourself for suspect files.

How can I see a run time error?

When I run the VI in development mode the VI works just fine. But after I compile and run the VI I get an error that flashes across the screen and then disappears. Arggg! How can I stop the process to see my error?

There are a few possible solutions to this.
One, I am writing an article about right now. It involves writing a Loader. This is a simple VI that loads and runs your main program, so that it can remain as a VI. If this is a viable solution for you (your VIs remain as VIs), then it is probably a great solution, as you won't have to worry about why your VI runs differently as an executable than in development.
The second is a lot more involved. You need to troubleshoot this error. First, you should already have in place some good error handling. If you don't, get it. Once you have it, or if you already do, you need to determine about where the error is coming from, and start putting in some troubleshooting. I always like to create a singl
e Global Variable (this to me is the ONLY good use for a global) with all sorts of indicators to act as a runtime probe (since you can't probe a built application.) You just write values to various controls as you need them, when you need them, and this allows you to view those values. Since this is designed primarily to view data in reentrant VIs, you will have to create a viewer for your built application. Simply create a VI that loads when you run your app that displays all of the global values.
Those are the only suggestions I can offer for now. Without knowing the nature of the error, etc, I can't give you any further advice.

How do I fix this Version Cue error

I recently upgraded my Vista Machine to Windows 7. Before the upgrade I deactivated and uninstalled my Adobe Creative Suite software. After the Windows 7 upgrade I reinstalled both CS2 Premium and CS4 Design Premium. It said there was a error during install that regarding Flash and that some of it's components might not work properly and to try the installion again. I did but I am not to concerned with Flash since I don't use it. My problem is that Illustrator and Photoshop don't work. I get the following error messages when I try to open a file then the program shuts down.

I found the fix from a previous post regarding this issue. It is detailed below.

I was having the same problem as you all. I tried all the dll download sites that said they had the file I needed and all I had to do was to "unzip it and install it into the system directory", and of course, none of them worked. And that was while and after I waded through all the registry scanner stuff that came up on my "VersionCue.DLL error" search.
Anyway, to make a long story short, I simply copied the same file that is in:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Adobe Version Cue CS4\Client\4.0.0\
to
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Adobe Version Cue CS4\Client\4.0.1\
Actually, I copied all of the files, not including the Dictionaries directory,
VersionCue.dll
VersionCueSDK.dll
VersionCueUI.dll
ExtendScript.dll
that were not in the 4.0.1 directory.
Now, I ended up with these 5 files,
VersionCue.dll
VersionCueSDK.dll
VersionCueUI.dll
ExtendScript.dll
ScCore.dll
and 1 directory, Dictionaries.
Now all is back to normal, for me at least. I hope this can help others, as well.

Yes, that should fix the problem also. As I see it the choice is which do you wish to spend, your time or money. The reformat and reinstall will take much more of your time. It will most likely solve your problem this time. On the other hand DiskWarrior will solve the problem much quicker for some of your money. If you have another problem with your drive, you can use DiskWarrior again to fix it. It is your choice.

How do I fix this SUID file error?

After upgrading to Snow Leopard, I had a bunch of problems but seem to have solved most of them by upgrading my RAM to 4GB.
But I keep getting this error when I verify permissions. I have no idea how it happened.
Warning: SUID File "System/Library/CoreServices/RemoteManagement/...ntents/MacOS/ARDAgent" has been modified and will not be repaired.
Warning: SUID File "System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/DesktopService...ions/A/Resources/Locum" has been modified and will not be repaired.
Any ideas?

Not everybody gets them.
Personally, I refuse to be inconvenienced by a software glitch over which I can exercise some control.
These particular SUID warnings can be eliminated although the fix is not for the faint hearted. The solution is documented in [this thread|http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=10482083&tstart=50].

How can I fix this recurring network error in the Messages App?

I use the Messages app all the time at work to chat with co-workers about jobs, etc... We have it set up using our company accounts hosted by gmail. Since upgrading to Mountain Lion we have all experienced the following issue:
At the end of the day, or when I am away from my computer for meetings, or lunch, or whatever, I log out of my user account. A lot of the time I will log back in and the messages app will act as though it is fine, but it will not actually be connected. The program makes no attempt to let me know somthing is wrong unless I try to send a message and I am prompted with "Your message could not be sent. Your account “<my account name>” is not logged in." If I go into the "Buddies" window and change the status to "Available" nothing happens, and the account bar will have the lightning bolt symbol and say "Offline" If I click on the lightning bolt an error message pops up and says, "Messages lost connection to the Jabber account "<my account name>". A Network Error Occured."
The only way to solve the problem that I have found, has been to competely re-start the computer. I have tried disabling and re-enabling the account in preferances, but it still doesn't connect.

I have seen this with AIM Logins that use the SSL Server and not the original server that was non SSL
Since iChat 6 the server name has also changed as has the Login port (Although we were suggesting using the port 443).
The AIM SSL server "Falls Over" more frequently than the other server.
Also iChat/Messages reconnects automatically to the NON SSL server but not to the SSL one (It is a security risk)
You had to manually Log out by Untick "Enable this Account" then Log back in again.
I have not seen this happen in Jabber accounts but I don't use my computer the same way you do.
Jabber Servers tend to either use SSL or Not and can rarely login if you change to not using SLL.
It also seems a bit strange that Disabling the account, as you phrase it, and re-enabling does not work.
For Googletalk Logins try logging out then changing the port to 443 (Googletalk allows this port as well as 5223)
Also check the Keychain (Applications/Utilities > Keychain Access) and see if there is an issue with any Gmail or Googletalk certificate.

How Do I Fix This Runtime Library Error?

I just finished up my site, and this is the only thing holding me back from publishing it. Whenever I "Test" my site, I get this error: " Your content will not stream. Runtime Shared Library (RSL) preloading will require all of your content to download before the first frame will play.
To prevent this you can change the Runtime Shared Library Library Settings, in the Advanced ActionScript 3.0 Settings dialog which can be raised from the Publish Settings dialog.
The Runtime Shared Libraries being preloaded are:
textlayout_1.0.0.595.swz for TLF Text"
Does anyone know how to correct this error? If you do, could you please walk me through it step-by-step. I am still very new to "Flash Professional (CS5)" & "ActionScript (3.0)"

How can I solve my 'run time error' accessing MySpace?

I didn't recommend resetting Safari, unless it proved necessary,
Resetting does all of the below, & some folks rather not lose one or the other
of the items listed, for me it would be my saved names & passwords.
