How do i flatten an images in iweb?

I created a tile image as the background for my website and then I added an overlay with a gradient. I like the effect, it looks great but when I visit my website online I notice that it loads the background image first and then the new layer moment after. This makes the site look very unprofessional.
How do I flatten both of these images in iweb?

You might try this method: with the image file on the Desktop Control-click on it and select the Copy option in the contextual menu. Next go to the image in iWeb and click on it until it's selected and do a paste. It will replace the photo but I don't know if it will avoid the border/frame that the page layout adds to all photos added to the page.

  • How do I flatten an image in Photoshop with a transparent background?

Hello!  I am trying to flatten an image in Photoshop while keeping my transparent background.  When I flatten, it gives me this white background instead.  Someone posted this, "thanks for the help. I've seemed to of figured it out. what I did was>merge all visible layers(except for the background layer),>command and click on the layer to select all>flatten image>command j>deselect> and then delete the flatten layer. this gave me the transparent background I was looking for." but it didn't help me.  Please help!

    Hello Jeff a Wright,
The version of Photoshop I am using is Photoshop CS5.1.  Whenever I flatten an image, it makes a white background, and gets rid of my transparent background.

  • How do I chance an image in iWeb?

I have a header image I've created and am using at the top of each page. Now that I have the site laid out, I want to replace these headers with ones specific to the page. But every time I try to drag a new image (same dimensions) over the old, it doesn't replace the image as I expect, it just plunks down a new one over the old. Which I then have to manually align it and apply the styles to.
What a pain! Especially if you're just making small changes to an image.
Is there not away to simply replace/change the jpeg on a page, with another file?

  • Flattening an image

In raw how can one flatten an image upon creating several adjustment layers?  Simple question from someone totally new.

It's not entirely clear what you mean.  Large file sizes for your RAW files, or large file sizes for images that you export?
I would guess that you mean large file sizes on exported images, since the size of the RAW file being used by Lightroom remains virtually unchanged regardless of the number of edits that are made in Lightroom.  Metadata might change the file size a tiny bit, but this wil be have a negligible effect.
So, if we are talking about exported images being too large, what format are you exporting them in?  JPG, TIF, PSD?
One topic that has been covered quite a few times on the Internet for the last few versions of LR is the large file size of JPEG files exported from Lightroom.  If you export your edited photos as JPEGs at 100% quality, then you will certainly get huge JPG files; sometimes as big as 2 megabytes per megapixel, depending largely upon the complexity of the image data in that particular photograph.  The solution in that case (assuming hard drive space is limited or you need to send the file over the internet) is to simply turn down the quality to somewhere in the range of 80%-90%.  You'll see a significant drop in file size.  You can decrease the file size even further, of course, by exporting JPEGs only as large as you actually need them to be.  So, for example, if you're exporting an image that you plan to email someone just to give them a look at your work, you could export it at only 800px and 85% quality and your resulting file will be very compact.

How do I flatten images in Illustrator?

The Object>Flatten transparency does not change the kb for the document.
I'm trying to make the piece smaller so I can send it via drop box or

thought if I could flatten the images it might help but Object>Flatten

  • How do I change the image title when it is uploaded from iphoto to iweb. At the moment the image title is /shapeimage_1.png and I would like to put in something more relevant than just shapeimage?

How do I change the image title when it is uploaded from iphoto to iweb. At the moment the image title is /shapeimage_2.png and I would like to put in something more relevant than just shapeimage_2?

When you drag images from iPhoto to iWeb, iWeb retains the original filename.
When you use a mask, iWeb creates a png file with the shapeimage name.
So do not use a mask and crop your images before dropping them on the iWeb canvas.
When you use an irregularly shaped mask, then png files are created. They have to be png because of the transparency of the shape.
You can use a 3rd party application to create the png images yourself, and give them a proper name.
Or use the published png files, rename them and drop them back onto the iWeb canvas, while first removing the previous images.

So how did you do it?
by understand what iweb widgets do, in this case setting gridEntry widget's scalMode preference from fill to fit.
then reset the displayed image, so it fits in the display area even if it's portrait aspect.
however, i found some glitches in gridEntry widget that's quite strange... but all fix-able.
perhaps, iweb experts (whose had poked at my example) here can chime in.

  • How do I change the image resolution of a photo?

    Hi..,
I am the beginner in Photoshop.
I want to change one image resolution from 72 dpi to 300 dpi.
So, I search and got one pdf for change the resolution of the image. In that they mention, take the "Printscreen" of the image and paste in the photoshop and change the mode(Index - flatten) and change resolution via the "Image -> image size -> Resolution".
Like that i did, it changed correctly.
After that I Open one already saved image file in Photoshop and do that same steps but the resolution was not changed.
So, now how to change that saved image resolution to 300 dpi...??
    Regards.,
    VISWA

    Viswa,
To find the current resolution of your image, follow these steps:
With your image open in Photoshop, Image > Image Size (Like you've already done earlier).
Check the resolution as shown above. If it doesn't show 300, enter 300, hit OK and 'Save' your image.
Open the file and check again. If it still shows 72, post back with more details of the type of file you're trying to open in Photoshop and if possible, a screenshot so we can help.

  • Images in iWeb

I want to put images in iweb that have no backgrounds. JPGs always have a white rectangular background but my photoshop images can have transparent backgrounds leaving the object "cropped".  How can I have irregularly shapped objects cropped in iWeb?"

Make sure your image actually has an alpha channel (transparent background)...
Use PNG, or PSD... then drag the image into your webpage...

What is the best format to import images into iBA? How should I compress my images before importing? What is the best file format? PNG? Jpeg? I'm trying to figure out the best file format / compression for importing images into iBA. Also, does anyone know how iBA will compress the file? Are the assets attached (like a website) or flattened out? Does anyone know how iBA handles this? Many many thanks to anyone with insight into this.

  • If I own Photoshop Elements 5.0 on an old computer without internet access, how do I open the image

If I have Photoshop Elements 5.0 on an old computer without internet access, how can I open the image I created so I can print it?  The new computer with internet is not the one I have registered the Photoshop product.
    Thanks.
    Eddie

    Hi eddie
If you saved the image on the old computer as a project or a PSD file it will only open in Elements. The best thing to do is make another copy and then transfer it to the flash drive.
If you open the saved collage in the PSE5 Editor you can click the top menu Layer à Flatten Image
Then click File à Save As and choose jpeg.
Copy the jpeg to the flash drive and then plug it into the new computer and drag the jpeg collage to Pictures or another folder.

  • How do you sharpen an image in layers

I have pc that uses xp pro cs5.1 extended....everything on the program works!! in normal editing mode I can do most things including sharpening, selection....recently I started to edit within layers and I can get most things done...but I cannot figure out how to sharpen the image once it is in layers as it is not one of the choices in the drop down menu, the same goes for selection. If this cannot be done then I will flatten the image and edit normally. My knowlege of layers is basic so be kind to me
    Regards,

A pet peeve of mine is excess worry about being "non-destructive".
The word is misused.  What you're doing (assuming you have any Photoshop capability at all and you're trying to make the image better, not worse) is constructive.
You should understand that the previews you see in Photoshop of your multi-layer image (unless you take extreme measures in configuration which I doubt many people know about) are all done in 8 bits/channel, so it's doubtful you're seeing what you're doing at a high quality level anyway.
If you really want to maintain all your layers and minimize the impact of sharpening, you can stamp the visible layers into a new layer of pixels above all the others (Control Alt Shift E) then sharpen it.  If you have to work on the document you can just do it again afterward - it's not like it takes a long time to do.
But honestly it's not even evil to just re-develop an image from a raw file and do all the edits again.  I find that I can often do a better job overall on a photo after doing that - and it avails you of the most recent advancements in Camera Raw.
I'm sorry if this message seems harsh, and please know that I'm not directing any criticism to anyone here, I just have a very strong personal opinion that all this "non-destructive" editing hype is just so much BS.

Convert it to the much more web-friendly png format.

  • I am running 10.6.8 and using iweb for my web site. After several SEO analysis they all indicate I need H1-6 header tags. After looking at the source code I see there are none in iweb. Is it necessary to add? If so, how do I add H Tags to iweb.

I am running 10.6.8 and using iweb for my web site. After several SEO analysis they all indicate I need H1-6 header tags. After looking at the source code I see there are none in iweb. Are they necessary to add?  Why would one add these tags and how do I add H Tags to iweb? And are there examples to look at? I am slowly learning about simple web design and assumed that iweb was stand alone without having to write code. Is this one of the reasons iweb is no longer supported? Thanks for looking at this!

A simple text page like this:
    Heading
        sub heading
              text paragraph ....
Is traditionally represented by html tags like:
    <h1>Heading</h1>
         <h2>sub heading</h2>
              <p>text paragraph ... </p>
I would guess that the use of h1-h6 tags helps search engines to understand the structure of a page as the tags imply a certain structure.
This can be compared to more generic tags like <div> that could represent any kind of content - and may be what iWeb uses (you'll have to check yourself).
I would generally recommend that you use some kind of up to date blog/site building tool, perhaps Wordpress or Squarespace (I haven't used either one myself) that support current web technologies - this should reduce your SEO issues and make it easier to properly support mobile/tablet users.
