How do I force my N95's video center to refresh?

Using a N95 8GB at the moment.
When I first got it, the video center was working perfectly, detecting any video that I load into the phone. However, it doesn't do that now. Tried formatting it but it didn't work. Any suggestions?
Thanks

cut all videos to your pc.
connect ur phone to your pc and open via mass storage. make sure u can see hidden files on ur PC. open folder data, videocenter and then mv. delete the file iptvmyvideos.
disconnect your phone, perform a soft reset and then connect your phone back to your pc via pc suite. use nokia video manager to transfer the videos back to ur phone.
restart your phone and search for the videos. continue browsing until they start appearing.
if this doesn't work then perform a hard reset and update your firmware again. remember to back up all your data bofore.
can't wait for n97 successor

  • N95 8GB - Video Center

My video center application closes after a few seconds.
The only change I had was that I subscribed to Podcasts and downloading audio and video podcasts. But still I only have 20% Internal memory used.
The videos from video center can be played from the Gallery >> Images & videos.
Oh yes, I also installed Gizmo5, onto the phone memory as instructed. I don't think they are related, but then again...

    Thank you a lot guys!
    ...and hello again :-)
Another problem I found is that Video Center automatically imports (videos) from Nokia Podcasts, which I happen to have a lot of video podcasts (e.g. geekbrief.tv). They keep me entertained each morning I take a train and bus to work (45 minutes trip).
I want to keep them for a while after I downloaded them, then erase after a few days, and giving thumbnails to files that can change after a while is too much work for a consumer device that is meant to be all fun, I think :-). Sorry, I shouldn't be whining about this in here, but directly to Nokia.
Anyways, has anyone tried to configure Video Center not to automatically import videos within the phone? No sooner to do myself since that would mean I have to remove all my (video) podcast episodes to keep my video center from crashing.

  • How do I stop Firefox from playing video after I navigate from the page or leave Firefox?

Simple and annoying. . Extremely frustrating issue with Firefox for Android. ..
I watch a YouTube video or any flash video. . And after I hit play, the ONLY way to stop it is to hit pause or let it play to the end or close the tab. .
It will NOT automatically stop if I open another tab. or if I navigate from Firefox. .
I feel this is a very basic feature. Did I set something up that was wrong?
    Can I ask two questions?
I have another extremely annoying and frustrating problem with Firefox for Android.
The "top" (if you pull down the tabs) search bar DOES NOT allow my stock Samsung keyboard to auto space. . Thus instead of typing
"How do I stop Firefox from playing video after I navigate from the page or leave Firefox?"
    I'll type in
    "HowdoIstopFirefoxfromplayingvideoafterInavigatefromthepageorleaveFirefox?"
Unless I manually got the space bar.
Using a recently factory data reset Samsung Galaxy s4 active.. android 4.2.2 and stock Samsung keyboard ... Firefox 34.0.1
    Thanks in advanced.
    Ps
I was a hardcore xscope user for years and just recently gave in to Firefox when i lost all my bookmarks due to a forced factory data reset. .

I'm using a different keyboard which works fine in the most top search bar...
I cannot believe that it's not a feature.
What if I was watching a video and wanted to shut it off quickly? I'll have to hit back? Wait for the previous screen to load then hit the power button?
Please tell me that feature ids soon to come

  • How do I force Qt to open all vids maximized? + Ignore imbedded autoplay?

Every time I open a movie, QT opens it in the default video size, and every time I have to maximize it. I'm tired of doing that! WMP and REAL both have the ability to open all vids in maximized mode, but I can't find that option in QT. Is there any way to force it to override the default video size on the file and open the QT window in maximized mode (not fullscreen, just maximized)?
And while I'm on the subject of overriding default video file settings, how do I force QT to ingore the "play on start" setting in the video file? I've uncheck the option on the QT player preferences to play files when opened, but the program still uses the imbedded setting on the .Mov files.

  • How do I force iTunes to load all media in my iTunes folder into iTunes?

I copied over the iTunes folder from my Mac to my Windows 7 PC.  I went through the instructions I found online about transfering my iTunes library from a Mac to Windows and everything seemed to work fine except when I open up iTunes the only media it shows me is my purchased media, and all my playlists are gone.  iTunes doesn't show me any of the music or videos I have in my iTunes folder that is not also purchased.
I thought when I started iTunes and pointed it to the new iTunes folder it would read through everything in the folder and load it into iTunes but it has not.  I can manually add my music to iTunes but it would take hours to load everything.
So how do I force the latest version of iTunes to read through the iTunes folder and load everything into my iTunes library?
    Thanks.
    Jesse

If were talking about iTunes Store purchases then...
In iTunes go to Edit > Preferences > Store and turn off
Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases
Share details about your library with Apple
On any iOS device go to Settings > Music and turn off
    Show All Music
Close and reopen iTunes and/or reset the device and you should see your version of the metadata for each track rather than the original store data.
As given in my previous post there is a way to prepare an iTunes library for moving between systems such that it won't break the links between the library and the media. It sounds as if your library wasn't in quite the right shape to be moved successfully. Options are to go back and do it again, or you could repair what you have with my script FindTracks. For details on how it works see this thread.

  • How to add a soundtrack to a video

I could not see a video, so I extracted the AC3 soundtrack with DiVx Doctor II, then changed it into an MP3 wit mAC3dec and I was supposed to be able through QuickTime Pro 7 to add the MP3 soundtrack to the .avi... But I can't figure out the way to do it.
    Anyone knows how?

That makes two of us. My Philosophy-Predicate Logic professor used to say that a problem was the difference between where you are and where you want to be and that the solution was how to get from one place to the other. While I applaud you telling us what you have done, I am forced to confess that I still have no idea what kind of a file you started with or what kind of a file you are trying to end up with.
If you have a good AC3 audio file and wish to convert it to an editable compression format that is fully supported by QT and all QT applications, I would recommend AIFF. If you have the free MPEG Streamclip application installed, simply "Open > Audio File" option to load it to the application and then select the "Export to Other Format" option to export the file to "No" Video and "AIFF" Audio at 48.0 KHz, 16-bit, and mono/stereo as needed. The resulting file should be compatible with all QT applications.
As I am not sure if you are starting with an AVI (or other compressed) file w/AC3 and that your are trying to extract the AC3, convert it and then add it back to the same file (or a different AVI file), what video compression format is involved, or what QT components you may have installed, it is difficult to suggest and more direct work flow involving fewer intermediate steps.

  • How do I force progressive download?

I have an Adobe Media Server all set up and playing videos over RTMP.
Users on low bandwith settings experience buffering, on occasion. To combat this, I want to force users to download the entire video before they watch any of it.
Through my research, I've found that "Progressive download" is the way to go if I want to do this, though I haven't found how to enable or access this on the server.
How do I force progressive download?

I am in control of the client. I'm using the Strobe Media Playback, and alternatively, a simple flash client using netConnection and netStream.
How do I set it on the client? Is it a change of "rtmp://" to "http://", or do I have to change a flashvar setting or what?
And if I set progressive download on the client, would it be different than using HDS or HLS?
In my http.conf, what I changed is:
    Under <Location /hls-vod>
         HttpStreamingContentPath
        from "../webroot/vod" to "../applications/recorder/streams/_definst_"
All of my videos are in that directory.

  • I am having trouble completely emptying my trash on my mac.  It says items are in use, but they are not.  How do I force these items to be removed?

I have copied dvds that I own, for backup copies, onto the desktop of my macbook.  Then I've placed a copy into iTunes for viewing later.  Once the copy is over in iTunes, I delete the copy of the movie on the desktop and it goes to the trash.  I do this because 1) I don't want to clutter up the desktop and 2) I don't want multiple copies of the movies on my hard drive.  When I go to empty the trash, it says these items are in use and will not remove them from trash.  Why is that?  They are not in use as far as I know.  How do I force them to be removed from trash?

I had a similar problem.  I think it was caused by deleting an app while it was still running. I should have shut the app down before deleting freom the applications folder.  When I tried to empty trash I received message:
"The operation can't be competed because the item something.app is in use."
Go to utilities, open a terminal, change directory to the hidden Trash folder and remove the offending item in use. Example:
    cd ~/.Trash
    sudo rm -rf item
Next time, maybe try quting iTunes before deleting and see if it makes any difference.

Another approach might be to use the iTunes folder named "Automatically Add to iTunes" folder.

  • How do I force-eject a CD when I cannot even get to the start-up screen?

Friends, Let me first apologize for getting myself into this mess, in the first place.
I bought a second-hand iBook G4 in the U.S., for a friend of mine, and brought it to South America, where I am living for one year, but far from any Mac Repair Center. I am getting the computer ready, to give to my friend, as a gift.
The computer was working perfectly here for the few weeks that I have had it. It has OS 10.3.9 installed, but no OS9. I wanted to install OS9, so that I could give my friend some older software to use with it.
(In fact, I inserted the software CDROM that I was going to give to my friend, into the second computer, to install the program before giving him the disk also. This was an important mistake.)
Moreover, the OS9 disk that came with this second "new" computer does not appear to be the same one that shipped with the computer originally. Consequently, when I tried to install OS9 Classic, it would not install correctly from this disk (although it was indeed made for installing OS9 to another iBookG4, but not this one, apparently.)
Consequently, as a short-cut, I simply copied my own Classic "system folder" from my own (completely) identical iBookG4, transferred it to a pen drive, and was going to move it to the second computer. Not all of the files copied successfully, however (some printer descriptions, for example), but most of them did.
So, I transferred what I could, in the meantime, and now I had a new Classic "system folder" on the second computer.
When starting up the Mac Classic environment there, however, the Classic environment would crash, and in that case I would just close the Classic environment altogether and continue normally in OSX mode, trying to solve the problem. I realized that my "copy" was not good enough.
Then I got the idea to make an "archive" of the original classic folder on my own computer, and then transfer the archive, to see if it would make a more perfect copy this way. It archived perfectly indeed, and at half the size, so I assumed that I would now have all the necessary documents, once it was transferred and decompressed onto the second computer.
Meanwhile, I decided to erase the incomplete corrupt copy of the (classic) system folder on the second computer, to avoid confusion when the new copy was transferred. As I moved it to the trash, the computer told me that it was being used by the system, and that it therefore could not be deleted. Since the classic environment was not running, I assumed that this was some sort of error, meant to protect the folder from accidental deletion regardless of the circumstances. Consequently I re-named the folder, and then deleted it successfully, and received no error message.
I went back to the first computer, to copy the new, archived classic folder to my pen drive. When I did, and returned to the second computer, I noticed that the screen was black there, but the disk, still spinning.
I checked to see if it was the display, or the connection, or if the computer was sleeping, or the screen saver activated, but none was the case.
I re-booted, but there was no start-up chime. The disk spun normally (or perhaps more loudly than normal).
I re-booted, holding down P and R, but no results. The display was completely black (i.e., no ilumination whatsoever, not merely a dark screen, but rather black).
I concluded that the source of the problem was what I had done with the classic folder (renaming it or deleting it).
I got the idea of inserting the system disk, to reboot from the CDROM, but the problem was that there was already a software disk inside, and it would not eject when the eject button was pushed.
I found some suggestions online. I rebooted holding down the track-pad button, for example. No results.
I rebooted holding down CMD OPT SHIFT O F, (or whatever the combinations were that were suggested). No results. I cannot even get a terminal screen to appear, much less a gray screen.
If I close the lid while the computer is running, the computer will NOT go into sleep mode. (So much for the suggestion about forcing an eject from sleep mode).
I noticed a comment online that there might be a force-eject hole inside the felt, but I do not know how to move the felt back well enough to see, nor do I know where to look, or whether there is even such a hole on this model. (if you know of a diagram or photograph online, please direct me)
(Incidentally, if it is any help regarding the model, it is of serial no. UV445CLX_ _ _ , assembled in Taiwan)
How can I force eject the CDROM inside?
Is the solution to reboot from the system software disk, once I succeed in ejecting the CDROM?

You cannot boot an iBook from an external USB drive--only a firewire drive. Actually, the drive is just a drive--it is the enclosure that determines USB vs. FireWire. If you could find an appropriate firewire enclosure, you could remove the drive from the USB enclosure and place it in a firewire enclosure and then be able to boot from that. Or you could just purchase an external firewire drive if those are available where you are.
FireWire external drives are quite useful. One option would be to mount the external drive on the good iBook, format it properly for OS X with Disk Utility, and then use a program like Super Duper to make an exact clone of your internal hard drive. This is a popular way of backing up your stuff. You can boot from either the internal or the external. This means that if your internal hard drive were to die, you would have all your stuff on the external, and could run off of that. Since you are already using the USB for backup, it would probably be best to acquire a new firewire drive for troubleshooting and testing if you decide to go this route, since you really don't want to lose your existing backup.
If you did have a bootable clone, you could see if the sick iBook would boot from it or not. However, it may be more productive to pursue your other thread about the boot problem. I see that Richard has joined the thread as I had hoped he would. He actually works on iBooks and is very knowledgeable.
Also, if you do get the second ibook working and want to install OS9, you might want to post a question in the "Mac OS X v 10.3 Panther and earlier" forum. I'm not up on this myself, but I believe there is something about installing OS 9 drivers while formating or something like that. I believe the smart guys on that forum could give you some guidance so that you can avoid the problems you encountered earlier.
    Good luck!

You may have to try deleting all the music from your phone (by going to Settings>General>Usage>Music, swipping All Music and tapping Delete), then sync it all back on with iTunes in order to fix this.

  • How can I determine the type of video out connector I need?

    Howdy,
I have a white macbook purchased Jun/2008. I want to connect to a TV but don't know what adapter I need. How can I determine the type of video out jack my macbook has?
System Profiler says the model identifier is "MacBook 4,1". Under Graphics/Displays the only thing it says about the "Display Connector" is that no display is connected. Too bad it doesn't tell me what type of connector it is. If I knew the name of the connector I'd probably be home free. But it seems like every macbook model has a different video connector (since the state of the art has advanced over the years) and I haven't been able to keep up with the names.
Now, I have a 6" long adapter that will convert this connector to VGA. And searching the Apple store for VGA adapters, the existence of mine says my connector is might be one of "Mini DisplayPort", "Apple Mini DVI", "Apple DVI", or "Apple Micro-DVI". But then there is also the connector at
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/M8639G/A?mco=MTY3ODQ5OTY
and that looks like the one I have. But unlike the other adapters, this one is just called a "VGA Display Adapter". Does the connector have a name? How can I find adapters that have that same connector?
I know I could use the adapter I have, plus a VGA to VGA cable, to hook up to a TV. But the quality of the VGA signal is poor in the digital world. My goal is to hook up to the TV via HDMI. Is this even possible? By which I mean, will my macbook generate the signals necessary to be able to be converted to HDMI?
    Thanks for any help,
    Zebulon T

    Thanks, Ded,
You're right, the cable that I have won't work. I't from my previous, 2004 iBook. This is pretty embarrassing... I looked at the cable but didn't bother to try plugging it in.
Looking at the close-up picture of the Mini-DVI to VGA adapter, that does look like the right connector. So I have Mini-DVI, and the other apter you pointed to can convert this to DVI. I'll take a look to see what makes the most sense, connector wise, downstream from that.
    Thanks very much.

  • How can I force-install iOs5/6 apps on my iPod Touch?

Hi, I have an iPod touch version 4.3.5 (ML1). Model is MC540C.
The App Store sometimes bars me from installing apps because the app has a minimum requirement of iOS 5 or 6. How can I force my iPod to install these apps anyway?

No, it is more than the screen dimension.
You have a 4G iPod, why not update?
    To update:
iOS 4: Updating your device to iOS 5 or later
You need iTunes 10.7 or later on the computer

How can i make a free facetime video call? There's always appearing that my provider might charge for the call?

If you make a call then tap the Facetime button to connect Facetime, the duration of call up to Facetime connection will be charged under your regular airtime.  However, duration during facetime conversation will not consume airtime.
But if you tap the Facetime button on the Contact Page, then the whole duration will not consume airtime.
For Facetime to work, both parties must be connected to wifi.

Thus my question is the same:
    -What software can do that?
-Sony Vegas 10 do the Bluray3D authoring?
-For MVC editing, should I wait for Adobe CS6? Or is it planned an update for CS5.5?
