How do I force other logged in user sessions in Windows 8.1 to log off or disconnect?

I am running Windows 8.1 on a Dell laptop. There are two user that login to Windows using Microsoft Live accounts. The other user is logged in and remains that way even after a Restart and a Reboot.
I cannot find a way to force the session to terminate and do not have the users password. So far, I cannot find any Forum postings that will help either.

Hi Greggor,
You say they are still logged in after a restart?? if you open task manager and look under users are the session aside yours listed?
Thanks,
Adam

How do I force Acrobat 11 Professional users to use the "save as" verses "save"?  I want the users to type in a fillable form, but not save their edits on the original form.  I want them to be able to save with a different file name.

You can't really force it, but you can encourage it... For example, you can set the file as read-only and add an instruction to do so before the file is saved using a script.

'''You can still have the old messages''', to make sure you get your tabs restored immediately, but with or without the messages and whichever way you respond to the message you can still get back your previous session through the History menu. (see item #31 "tabslost")

    Hi....
    Greetings........
How soon will the website log the user off, the application in case of no user activity ie the application is not use for long time?
so I want to know 1. how long the application(may be dashboard) is Idle
    2. Is there any option to change the default log off time
    Thanks in advance

You need to be a bit more resourceful, you can't expect people to do everything for you. I don't know which websites your company blocks so I am not going to list all the language translators on the web to see which ones are and which ones are not. Ask a friend to visit the page and send a screen shot, visit the page from internet cafe or from your home internet connection. There are tons of ways to do it...

I have been scouring everywhere for a solution to a similar problem where the audio would drop out for a second or two ever 5 or so seconds - regardless of whether we were streaming content or using an iPad and Air Play.
I tried changing the audio channels on the ATV as suggested elsewhere and here - no luck.
Played with the settings on the Air port Express - no luck.
We swapped the ATV to a different tv and it worked fine.
Then played with the audio settings on the SONY Bravia - no luck.
Swapped the audio out on the ATV to play through the Air Port Express and plugged in the some headphones.  NO AUDIO DROP OUTS!
My deduction - a problem with the HDMI cable.  Borrowed a friend's cable - wasn't going to spend another $50+ if the cable wasn't the problem.  And lo and behold the HDMI cable was the problem.
    Only took 3 hours.

  • How to separate application module instance per user session?

    Hi.
How do you separate application module instances per session or per user? I am creating a web application and has created a simple filter that implements Filter.
    Thanks in advance.

Hi Frank. Thank you for the reply.
I tried using two browsers. The behavior of each page is very much different when being opened individually. Its like the two pages is sharing the same iterator / data and / or entity object. These two pages were opened to see if one is dependent upon the other. But when I test the same scenario on a different computer, everything works out fine.
Is there a way for me to verify if the sessions are different? and if they are different, is there a way to verify if the application module created a new instance for the other session?

  • My Macbook Pro won't shut down/force quit/log off...

I've been having a problem turning my macbook pro off for about a week now. It won't shut down, force quit or log off. I've tried holding the power button down as well, with no luck. It won't even go to the sign in screen ....
I'm not sure what the problem could be because I haven't done anything different lately... no new software, websites, etc.. Nothing came up with my Avast full system scan either.
    Help please! Thanks in advance.

  • How can I check from where a user is signed in to Lync / force a log off?

    Hi there,
in my support organization we have personalized accounts and one general account that is used for chat support. Now as Lync is delivering the instant messages on a first come - first serve basis, I would like to check
from where someone is signed into Lync in order to be able to ask the user on that machine to sign out /
    force a sign-out.
I found the Deep Dive into the Lync 2013 client sign in process ( http://channel9.msdn.com/Events/Lync-Conference/Lync-Conference-2014/CLNT400-R ) , but I didn't find was I was looking for.
Can you please guide me towards finding a solution for that?
    Thanks,
    O 815

    Hi,
Base on my knowledge, there is no readymade method to find the location of the Lync client sign in.
You may need to find the information on database.

  • How do I: Force a redirect when users navigate to a particular page

We have customized the "My Communities" dropdown so their pages fly-out when the community is moused over.
I've been asked to find a way to essentially redirect the portal to something different when a user selects a particular page.
Rather than hardcoding various conditions into the header (if Community=b and page=a then redirect), I'm wondering if there is a way to redirect folks from a portlet on the particular page?

from a portlet you can write out javascript and do a window.location if thats what you're looking for.

  • How to keep lightroom from logging off?

I have a close to 100,000 images in my catalog and every time I have to open lightroom it takes a long time for it to open and download. How can I keep lightroom open so it is ready to go?

The number of images in the catalog should have no detrimental impact on the performance of Lightroom. Tell us about your computer:
    What OS?

  • Script for internet connect with dial up modem, check email & log off

I am looking for a script to connect to the internet (with dial up) external apple modem, then check email and then log off and disconnect. I don't want any other applications opening internet connect? A would use this script file with ical and could have my email checked and open up in the morning before I leave for work....being that we have dial up the entire process of connecting to the internet and checking email is time consuming. Any help is greatly appreciated. thks

You need some additional logic in there - as written, the script will launch mail, then immediately disconnect the internet connection.
At the very least you need to add a delay before disconnecting to allow for Mail to download awaiting messages.
Since you cannot predict how long a delay you'll need, a better approach would be to query Mail.app and wait until it's idle, like:
    tell application "Mail"
launch -- doesn't need to be frontmost
check for new mail -- get all mail
repeat until (get background activity count) = 0
delay 2 -- wait 2 seconds before checking again
      end repeat
    end tell
In this way the script forces a check of new mail (don't assume that Mail.app is set to auto-check, especially for dialup users who often compose mail offline and may have automatic checking disabled), and it hangs around until Mail.app has finished downloading all the messages.

  • Change user session language in HANA Studio

    Hi All,
I have created a calculation view and used text join with a text table. The text table contains description in 2 language (say English and German).
When I check of the output of the calculation view via SQL query (or data preview), only the english description is coming; which is perfect.
My question is, how does HANA studio knows that my user session language is English? Can I change it to a different language?
Say I want to see the German description. How can I get that?
    Regards,
    Raja

    Hi Raja
You can change the language settings in the properties dialog for the logon data.
As the logon language is set at logon time, you need to re-connect after changing the settings to see the effect.
BTW: this question had been answered already several times - using the search bar is not a crime...
