How do I force Qt to open all vids maximized? + Ignore imbedded autoplay?

Every time I open a movie, QT opens it in the default video size, and every time I have to maximize it. I'm tired of doing that! WMP and REAL both have the ability to open all vids in maximized mode, but I can't find that option in QT. Is there any way to force it to override the default video size on the file and open the QT window in maximized mode (not fullscreen, just maximized)?
And while I'm on the subject of overriding default video file settings, how do I force QT to ingore the "play on start" setting in the video file? I've uncheck the option on the QT player preferences to play files when opened, but the program still uses the imbedded setting on the .Mov files.

I just spent several hours dealing with this when switching to a new PC. It was extremely frustrating as I knew my files were on my external HD but no matter how many times I copied my old iTunes folder over the files were still missing...because dummy me had forgotten to "unhide folders" on my new PC and my old files were actually stored in a hidden folder created long long ago.
This is how I did it on Windows 7 with iTunes 10
1. Look in iTunes Advanced Preferences to see where iTunes is saving files. (Edit, Preferences, Advanced)
Example: C:/Users/Woildbill/My Music/iTunes/Music
2. Ensure you are able to see hidden files - Control Panel, Folder Option, View, Show Hidden Files
3. Use Your Computer's Search Function to Locate the Missing File (Start, Search, type name of song - I started my search in "My Music" folder but be sure to expand to entire Computer if not found right away)
4. In Search Results, right-click found folder and select properties. This will tell you where the file is actually stored.
5. Use Windows Explorer (right-click start) to navigate to the location of the file. It is likley your other missing files are in the same location.
6. In Windows Explorer, copy the newly located files to the iTumes location from Step 1 and everything should work again.

One way is to always quit all applications before you shut down.
An easy way to do this (although in my own experience it doesn't seem to always work perfectly) is to simply hit CMD + TAB + Q and hold down all three keys.
When you do that the computer will cycle through all open apps and close them. If there are any open files that haven't been saved, it won't close them. So you should save everything you want to save before you hit CMD + TAB + Q.

How do I force iTunes to load all media in my iTunes folder into iTunes?

I copied over the iTunes folder from my Mac to my Windows 7 PC. I went through the instructions I found online about transfering my iTunes library from a Mac to Windows and everything seemed to work fine except when I open up iTunes the only media it shows me is my purchased media, and all my playlists are gone. iTunes doesn't show me any of the music or videos I have in my iTunes folder that is not also purchased.
I thought when I started iTunes and pointed it to the new iTunes folder it would read through everything in the folder and load it into iTunes but it has not. I can manually add my music to iTunes but it would take hours to load everything.
So how do I force the latest version of iTunes to read through the iTunes folder and load everything into my iTunes library?

If were talking about iTunes Store purchases then...
In iTunes go to Edit > Preferences > Store and turn off
Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases
Share details about your library with Apple
On any iOS device go to Settings > Music and turn off
Show All Music
Close and reopen iTunes and/or reset the device and you should see your version of the metadata for each track rather than the original store data.
As given in my previous post there is a way to prepare an iTunes library for moving between systems such that it won't break the links between the library and the media. It sounds as if your library wasn't in quite the right shape to be moved successfully. Options are to go back and do it again, or you could repair what you have with my script FindTracks. How do I prevent Firefox from opening all tabs in seperater windows?

Every single time I open Firefox it not only opens all of my previous tabs in one window but it also opens each and every one of them is it's own separate window. As I normally work with over 60 tabs it takes several minutes for them to complete opening and is a pain. Anyone who knows how to control this please help. I've checked all of the existing issues and find it surprising I'm the only one reporting this problem.

It is possible that there is a problem with the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.
Delete the files sessionstore.js [2] and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.

If you see files sessionstore-##.js with a number in the left part of the name like sessionstore-1.js then delete those as well.
Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note or bookmark them).

How do I get rid of "Open All In Tabs" from the Bookmarks dropdown menu? [STUPIDITY] Also, my bookmarks run off the bottom of the screen and I can't see them all.

The bottom of my bookmarks in one subcategory extends beyond the screen on my TV and I can't see them all. When I create a shortcut to a web page from FireFox to the desktop, how can I force Firefox to open from it when I.E. is default and has to stay that way?

I have a customer that likes to use Firefox browser and does for all they can. Unfortunately they have to also us I.E. with some of their business companies so their browser is set to I.E. by default and must stay that way. Tried changing default for brevity we will just say opened to many other problems. SO, is there a way to create a short cut to the desktop from Firefox and force that shortcut to open with Firefox and not with the default browser IE?

I am running on Windows 7. I do not know what happened exactly. My little brother used the computer and tried to uninstall Power Point. Ever since then, everything opens in Firefox. I cannot use the shortcut to my folders. All icons are the Firefox one. I have changed them back but they automatically revert to the firefox icon. I went into the default and changed the programs, but still no luck.

How do I force Pages to open a document at the END of the document?

I have a document -- my personal diary -- in which I write almost every day. Every time I open it, it opens about 3/4 of the way into the document, then I have to go to the end of the document to write more. Is there any way to change this weird behavior so the document opens to the end?
I searched discussions and there is an archived discussion of this issue from 2008 where someone points out that if you manually go back to page 1 in the document, then use the Save command, the document will open to page 1 when next opened. However, I can't find any method to have the document open to the end, which seems like it should be an obvious option. I just find it strange that the document does not re-open to the last saved position, especially text documents.
Any workaround?

Well, that was my problem. I was opening an "old" Pages document (updated to 09 of course, but originally it was an 06 document). I would write some additional material at the end and save. But next time I opened the doc it would open to a spot about 3/4 of the way through, not at the end. As I mentioned, I found another discussion in here from a few years back started by someone with the same problem.
Cutting and pasting is really pretty simple (actually I should say copying and pasting in this case): Open old doc, select all, copy, open new doc, paste, save with new name. That worked and now the new document opens to the end. Much more convenient.

How Can I set QT to open ALL files in Full Screen Automatically?

Am I missing something obvious here, or is this a major option missing in preferences of QT? I know that you can set this option for EACH movie in the Presentation tab in the movie's Properties, but I have 1000's of clips on my computer. I just want EVERY movie to automatically open up in full screen mode. This seems like it should be an obvious universal option for QT rather than handled individually for each file (with the option to over ride it per file if you wish for some reason).
Plus setting the option per file is not even practical, because in order to save that option in a file that is not .mov file QT wants to convert it to .mov and save copy of the file...

I am still pretty sure, say 95%, (do not recall perfectly - to many things on my mind... hihi) that the settings in Quicktime in the Preferences DID work before.
QT Player "Preference" settings only control how the content is displayed in the "Full Screen" mode -- not how it is activated. Pop-up options include:
1) Half Size,
2) Actual Size,
3) Double Size,
4) Fit to Screen,
5) Fill Screen,
6) Panoramic, or
7) Current Size
The options are available individually for "widescreen", "standard", or "other" aspect movie formats. The only other method of I can think of using the QT Player to automatically open in the the "Full Screen" presentation mode would be using a QTL file linked to your original source file but it setting the "Full Screen" option is "boring" for you, then creating QTL files would be even more so.

Force IE to open all internet links

Does anyone know of a way to for all web links no matter where a user clicks on them to open in IE. We need to have chrome in our desktop image (for reasons beyond this discussion)
but if a user is using Gmail in chrome and clicks on a web link in Gmail I need it to open IE and not try to open the link in chrome.

Did you use Windows 7?
In Windows 7 control panel\All control panel items\default programs\set your default programs, set IE to a default program to open links.
And try to reinstall chrome, when it ask you if set chrome to default, do not select it.

I want to have just one Safari window open and all the links that I click on that are supposed to be in a new window open in a new tab and all the links that I click on any other program open on the same safari window but in a new tab just like in Firefox.
