    How can I format a field in the form creator? It's putting the same text in all the fields within a table. I want each field within the table to have different text. As soon as you click out of the table, all the text is the same.
    I even changed the fields from a text box to a drop-down list so a person can make their selection, which will be a quantity from 0-9. There are two of these such fields. You make your selection in each, click off the table and both fields show whatever I selected in field 1. The original Qty I selected in the bottom field was a 5 but it changed it to whatever is in the top field on it's own. I've added a screen shot.

    This behaviors usually happens when you create the fields but  a copy paste command from one of the fields. The copy paste command assumes that your intentions is to maintain a copy of the field in two separate locations (e.i, a form field  "company name" printed in each and every page of a multi-page form document.
    Go to the properties fields of each field and make sure  to assign unique form field  names.

When I publish with Adobe Presenter, these transcripts appear in the Notes tab in the published course. However, when I publish my course, any bullet lists that I may have formatted in the Notes view in PowerPoint, do not format correctly in the published course. The text of the bullets is there, but the bullet formatting is missing.
    I am using Adobe Presenter 8, PowerPoint 2007, and I'm running on Windows 7 Professional. I have tried saving my PowerPoint file in the PPTX format and in the older PPT format. Neither retains the bullet-list formatting in the published course.
    Is there a trick to getting lists to format correctly in the Notes tab?

    I have a macbook since a couple of years running 10.5.8 OSX. the last months the system is getting a bit slower and since i bought a midi controller which is arriving today i am thinking of making a format. But i havent the original cds. So here are some questions for u mates and plz consider me as a total amateur.
    1. Will a format make the performance of my macbook back to its original state when i bought it, like it is done with a pc format?
    2. I have ordered this: Mac OS X Snow Leopard International 10.6.3 (upgarde from Leopard). will i be able to do a format with that or i have to oder the original cds (i understand that i will loose iLIfe)
    3. I have some programs installed in my macbook and i have some bookmarks i really work with them. so i am thinking of using time mashine before and after format. Should i do that or if i do that then the format thing has no point at cause the macbook will be slow like it is now??

    Call Apple, givre them your serial number and they will send you the original install disks only charging for shipping & handling. You should always have those.
    1. A re-format will make your Mac volume blank, after re-installing it would be back to original defaults, but it is usually unnecessary, unless you are experiencing insurmountable problems.
    2. Yes, you will be able to format & install. But like I said, you're better off just upgrading.
    3. You should always have a backup either TM or SuperDuper or CarbonCopy Cloner. The value of these cloning apps, is that you can boot from them in case you get into trouble on your main drive.
    Before you install run Disk Utility > Verify Disk. If you find errors repair until no errors are found.

    I successfully restored my Toshiba 1110 with no CD Rom. The CD Rom on the Toshiba is not robust. Many of them fail. You need a copy of Windows 98 and a Copy of Windows XP. The XP you loaded on your desktop will work because the Windows Production Key should be on the bottom of your computer. You also need to buy an adapter from 40 pin to 44 pin for the EIDE cable. This will cost about $10 and will let you install the laptop HD in your desktop computer.
    The problem is that you cannot Windows XP Setup unless you are in windows. You can, however, boot a Dos floppy disk. Windows XP will not run in the Toshiba unless it is set-up from inside the computer. My system involves creating a small partition on the hard drive and loading the contents of the CD into the partition then loading Windows from the partition.
    1) Use windows XP in your Desktop to create a large partition C: with the HPFS and a small partition D: (10 GB) FAT. You can pull the data cable on your desktop Hard Drive so that you don't format it in error.
    2) Copy the contents of the win98 directory on the Windows 98 disk to the same directory on the small partition. Copy the contents of the I386 directory on the XP disk to the same directory on the small partition. Copy the two Setup files from the root of the XP disk to the root of the small directory.
    3) Reinstall the Hard drive in your laptop.
    4) Boot the laptop with windows 98 or XP boot disk.
    5) Setup windows 98 from D:\win98\setup
    6) Boot window98 from D: and install Windows XP from D:\setup.
    7) Download the Lan driver from the internet then install all other drivers from the internet.

    Personally, I have never had any probs at all with my G4/10.4.11 Powerbook (USB 1.1) seeing any USB drive, even those advertised as working with only 2.0 USB.
    IMO, either your USB drive's FAT32 file structure is goofy (run Windows Scandisk & maybe even Defrag on the USB drive), or your Mac OS's USB systemfilestuff is gunked. Or your i's actual USB port(s) aren't working.
    Do other USB drives work on your i? If so, the prob's your particular USB drive in question. If not, the prob's your Mac.

    I think there are third-party programs which will do that, but you can also do it with Automator:

    The file or clipboard contents will be in Tab Separated vars, so you'll have to open with a spreadsheet program and save as Comma Separated Vars format.

  • How can I format an SD card on my mac?  I have tried the erase thing but when I put the card into my 35mm camera it says that the card has to be formatted.

    I just purchased two new SanDisk 8gb SD cards for my trail cameras.  When I put the cards into the trail cameras, the cameras will take pictures but it won't store them on the cards.  When I put the cards into my 35mm camera the camera tells me that the cards need to be formatted.  I have went through the steps in the disk utilities and erased the cards, which I assume is the same as formatting them??  I have tried this for hours and have had no luck getting these things to work at all.  It was awful disgusting when I checked my two trail cameras the first time and found out that they had taken close to 75 pictures but the cards were empty.  When I bought my 35mm camera several years ago, I bought a couple of Kodak SD cards and used them right out of the package and never had to do any of this formatting thing.  I don't understand what is going on and could sure use some help with this.  Thanks for any information anyone can give me with this problem.  I would love to have seen what animals set my cameras off 75 times in the last few days.  Thanks again.

    AFAIK cameras offer their own built-in format utility for inserted SD cards.  You should use that.  Otherwise, refer to the manual that came with your camera to determine precisely how your SD cards need to be formatted to work properly.  Personally, I'd suggest Partition Scheme: MBR, and Filesystem: FAT32.
    Try to limit the number of formats you perform on the SD cards, though, as you're reducing their lifespan.  I believe formatting causes re-writes to a portion of the SD card that has fewer read/write cycles than the rest of the card as a whole.

    Then open the inspector by selecting the menu item "View > Show Inspector", then click the table inspector segment:
    now use the row height and column width fields to adjust as needed.
    You can also select multiple rows and columns by clicking in an active tables row/column header, then dragging to select rows (or column), then hover the cursor on the line the separates rows (or columns) until the cursor changes to a bar with arrows, then click, hold, and drag as needed.

    Not necessarily. I'd suggest downloading and installing the "combo" update. That's a combination (thus the clever name) of all the updates to Leopard since it was first released, so installing it should fix anything that's gone wrong since then, such as with one of the normal "point" updates. Info and download available at: http://support.apple.com/downloads/MacOS_X_10_5_8_ComboUpdate Be sure to do a +Repair Permissions+ via Disk Utility (in your Applications/Utilities folder) afterwards.

    Depending on how your margins are set and the height of your table rows, you will get some number of rows per page. Your only control of where the pages break is with those controls. Margin setting is a Sheet Property and can't be changed page by page, but if there's a particular row that you want to end a page with, just increase the height of that last row until the rows below pop to the next page.
    If you have a Header Row, you can ask it to repeat at the top of each page, so you don't have to manually repeat the column headings.
    Knowing how to easily change the dimensions of a table, in rows and columns, is amongst the basic stuff covered in the Numbers User Guide. You can get it from the Help Menu. A good read on a Winter's evening.
