How do I format my new SSD and get my computer to read it?
I installed a new Samsung SSD with SATA III PCIe connector in my 2006 Mac Pro 1,1 2.66Ghz today.
It's showing up in Disk Utility as being there, but it says it's unformatted, and I can't access it from the desktop.
How to I get the computer to register it in Disk Utility?

Since it is showing up in Disk Utility, try selecting it, then clicking the Partition button, choosing GUID partition table as an Option and Mac OS Extended (Journaled) as the format.

How do I configure my new SSD without my original utility disks (they're currently in another state . . . in the middle of moving)? I have a drive adapter and have connected my old hard drive which allows me to run the computer, but I was unable to transfer everything from old to new using Disk Utility. OK, it's not an SSD, it's an SSHD (love a set of initials) specifically it is a standard 4TB rotating drive with 8GB of SSD memory attached. Treat it just like any other drive because that is how it appears.

If you want an entirely fresh installation then cloning is not the way to go, otherwise it's the best choice. If you don't have the disks it is the only way to go (with Snow Leopard anyway)
You could boot from the old drive and use it to install Mavericks on the new one if you wish. -
I installed a new SSD drive in my computer and now Adobe Creative Suite Web Premium says I don't have a license. I have license. It was very expensive. I am disabled now, and I need this software working. Adobe Acrobat has been a primary tool for accommodating memory problems after a brain injury. (A car ran me down while I was out getting exercise.) I installed the SSD because I needed my management of PDF files to run faster. I called tech support for help when the software first stopped working, but they needed me to give them a number from my original disks. Because of my disability, I've been having someone come in to clean, and the shelves where I kept my software packages were cleared. I've been hunting for them ever since, but I can't look for them myself for very long at a time. Today I finally found them, but now I can't seem to contact tech support. What happened? I don't want to delete my old files because I need the setup to remain unchanged, because I don't do well with changes. I think all I should need is to have someone located the license file on drive E: and move it to wherever it is needed on the SSD drive, but I don't know what to look for.
Tech support is not normally available on weekends. You should contact them as soon as the weekend passes and pick up where you left off with them.

How do you update it? Basically what has happened my password was disabled for "security reasons" on sunday (21/10/12), so i tried to reset it, but for some reason i couldnt get into my old email (probably because i havent used it for 2 years), so i read on here i could swap it to a new email that i currently use (which is what i have done) ive swapped everythin over to it (facetime, iCloud etc) but keeps coming up with old email and asking for password

Your iPod is designed to sync with only one iTunes library at a time. It will recognize the iTunes library on the PC as a new library. If you sync the iPod with this new library, all content will be erased from the iPod and replaced with what is in the new library. So what you will want to do is copy everything from the iPod to your new iTunes library on your PC first.

You might consider itunes match for moving CDs you've copied into your itunes library if you dont have a way to use home sharing.
iTunes match is an optional service offered by apple that costs about $25 a year. It scans your music library and if it finds music that is already in apple's itunes catalog it'll automatically "unlock"/"store" these in the cloud for you. I just purchased an iMac and upon setting it up I initiated an username and a password. Unfortunately I didn't write it down and now I'm trying to add software and the system won't let me because I forget that info. How do I reissue a new usernam and password?
Boot from your recovery partition by holding down the key combination command-R at startup. Release the keys when you see a gray screen with a spinning dial.
When the recovery desktop appears, select Utilities ▹ Terminal from the menu bar.
In the Terminal window, enter “resetpassword” and press return. A Reset Password window opens.
Select your boot volume if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Follow the prompts to reset the password.
Select ▹ Restart from the menu bar.
You should now be able to log in with the new password, but you won't be able to unlock the Keychain. If you've forgotten the Keychain password (which is ordinarily the same as your login password), there's no way to recover it. You’ll need to reset your keychain in the preferences of the Keychain Access application. -
I recently bought a new SSD and installed windows and all major files to it including Itunes. My old 500GB SATA harddrive is still connected and accessible to Itunes, but I cannot get any new album I download to Itunes to sync up with my 64 GB Iphone 5.
Please help me as I am going raving mad over this.

You will need to boot from another source: a bootable clone, your old internal in an external enclosure, or your install disk.

Someone hacked my computer and set up a new administrative account by re-registering my computer. I can not access this account nor delete it. How can I fix this and get my computer back to the way it was? And also prevent this from being able to happen again. Not sure why you can't delete that account. If you have admin privileges, you should be able to. Sounds like you only removed the Home Folder for that account.
You should highlight/select the account you want to remove and then click the minus button. Might need to unlock the padlock with your admin password.

This was EXACTLY what I needed about the purchases I made from my device. However, is there a way to re-download other ones you've made from a computer? Because I realized some of them were not just purchased from my device.
