How do i format the memory card on n78

how do i format the memory card on my n78? do we another application to do it? can i do it with my nokia? the music player keeps on searching for files non stop and i wanna know if formatting the memory card solves the problem

You should have because that's how to do it on FP2 phones such as the N78 and N96.
Menu > Tools > File manager
Go into the "Memory card" section, then:
Options > Memory card options > Format

N81: "Memory full" even formatted the memory card

Hi.
Using N81, I get the "Memory full. Delete some data" message every time (when turning on the mobile, when trying to install any app, when trying to uninstall any app, ...).
I've formatted the memory card, and I've got:
- Capacity: 1947 MB
- Used: 1 MB
- Free: 1946 MB
but continue getting the same error.
Any similar experience? I reset the mobile (*#7370# and *#7780#) but I don't experience any change (I've deleted the time and settings, but not the memory issues).

Thank you for your post.
What I recommend you try is to re-installing your firmware and see if this make a difference. You can do this via Nokia suite through tools and update.
If after this is still isn't working when you did a hard reset (*#7370#) did you back and restore? If you did do the hard reset but don't restore, do still experience the same issue?

If you return the memory card to the helmetcam, it may choose to reformat it before use; back to some FAT-16 or FAT-32 format many of these third-party cards and cameras use. Unless you were going to use it for Mac OS X and format it with HFS+ or in a partition map for Mac data, etc.
If not, the easiest way to reformat the card may have been in the camera itself. I've formatted several kinds of camera cards, drives, USB flash drive, and others. The means varies with the intended purpose. Sometimes the default is the best; since it is platform neutral if the device is seen by both players.

How do i format a memory card on my mac?

I don't get a choice to format the sd card (actually via an adapter I plug into the USB port that holds various memory cards) - not sure if formating the sd card would actually eliminate the virus, but thought I'd try... The card is infected with a "conficker" virus, which Sophos can't remove. I have eliminated all the files, and there still is like 55 unviewable files.

N8 how do I Format the microSD card??

The manual says I can reformat the microSD card in my N8 by "You can do this in Menu > Applications > Office > File mgr.."
But I can't see any options in there that would do this?

In File Manager point on the card and hold down until the sub menu appear. You will find the FORMAT option there.

No matter how much data on the memory card, the phone indicates that the memory card is full. I can not bear podcast, video or photo on the map.
The system always says no space is available.
Have the card already deleted or formatted completely. I can remove the card from the phone, the problem still remains.
What should I do?

Once I updated software on my N95 the memory card ...

I have read various posts about the same problem.
I backed up my phone memory to my memory disk memory before updating my Nokia software as suggested. I have now been asked to put in a password. I didn't set a password, and have tried 12345, but no luck. I would prefer not to format the memory card as i will lose contacts and a hefty amount of music.

Nokia should give a warning that the memory card will lock!

That message appears because your phone was hacked to unlock it in order to use it with the carrier you're now using. Updating software or restoring a hacked iPhone will re-lock it to the carrier it was originally locked to. You have two choices: re-hack it, or get it officially unlocked(only the carrier it is locked to can authorize such).

ON an external hard drive.. that is easy.. just open disk utility and reformat it. Make sure you use Mac Extended Journeled. (HFS+)

You cant defrag phone memory. Your phone is slow because certain applications must be running in background. Close applications you dont need.

You can't. There is no memory card. It uses flash memory that's soldered to the logic board. If you didn't back it up, your data is gone.

I have to take my Nokia 6120 in to be fixed because it just stopped making any sounds, tones, alarms, and i couldn't hear anyone and they couldn't hear me.

When I select the message and then say 'move to' i only get the option of 'my folder' which, as far as i can work out, isn't on the external memory card.

Well, for one thing it shouldn't be in the DVD slot. You can try turning the computer on it's side and see if you can coax it out, but otherwise you will need to take it in for service because the computer has to be disassembled.

I never put a password on the memory card so how do i sort this and why has it done this ? Its not the original 8gb that you got with the phone, its a san disk 16gb.
