How do I gain back my album art work missing from my phone?

I put a CD on my phone but then most of my alum artwork got deleted (only on my phone). How do i gain it back? Thanks

Thanks for the question. If the album artwork still appears on your computer with iTunes, you may just want to resync the content:

How do I sync so that album art work in one library is copied over to another via home-sharing? Most of the artwork has been scanned and added by me.

I have three computers, each with its own iTunes Library, but if I add material to one, every few days I make sure that it's copied over to the others via homesharing. However, some of the metadata does not transfer, specifically the album art work. So on one library, call it my Home Library, everything is nice and tidy, with album artwork where it should be. On the other two, all the albums I've painstakingly made sure are complete on the home library are missing the art work.
Any thoughts? Tune Ranger and other iTunes maintenance apps don't seem to do the job, either. Coverscout, PowerTunes and Song Sargent also fail this task.

My understanding it iTunes handles artwork several ways. First, iTunes keeps a copy of all artwork in its artwork folder. Second, artwork can optionally be embedded in a media file. You can, for example, have an album where no artwork is actually in the files but all use a reference copy in the artwork folder. Even if a file has artwork embedded it may still use the version in the artwork folder.
Embedded artwork travels with the file when you copy the file.
I am hazy as to when exactly iTunes will embed artwork and when it won't. I believe, for example, if you use iTunes to fetch artwork it will not embed it, it will just place a copy in the artwork folder. Then too I never use iTunes to fetch artwork and I usually end up with artwork embedded in a file or two per LP (each embedded copy uses up more disk space). Now, I still use iTunes 7.5 and new versions may not behave exactly the same. If it was my version and I added artwork to a file it would embed it and it would transfer. It sounds like your artwork isn't embedded even if you are adding it the same way I would (I drag mine to the little arwork display box in the bottom left corner of my window, which apparently has vanished completely in iTunes 11).

Just remember embedding artwork adds to each file size, so if you have 1000 files and you add 2 MB of high quality scans to each track you are taking up 2 GB more of drive space.

Album art work missing on new songs

I've been noticing that the album art work is missing on some of the new songs I just purchased from iTunes. I have iTunes 9 and have updated my iPod Touch software. Does anyone know what is wrong and how to fix this?

Just RIGHT click the song, and near the bottom of the drop-down menu, hit "get album artwork".

Album art work missing on some albums

After upgrading to Itunes 10, when I go to the view where it shows the albums and shows their tracks, for some albums it shows the artwork and for others it doesn't. To be more clear, it is the viewpoint that is the second pick from the left side, I think they call it column browser. It seems like some kind of bug because when I click on the artwork under get info it shows it is still there, but it doesn't show up for some reason when I switch back to the view or even if I try to add it back. But when I go to the view where it shows all the albums by cover only, it shows them all then. Any idea how I can fix this? Because the view point where it shows all the albums and their individual tracks is my favorite view, and this is very unappealing.

Never mind I found the setting which I needed to check that fixes it.

How to properly embed album art work into TV/Films itunes: home sharing lag

My setup is a simple apple home sharing network.
I have a mac mini running OS X 10.6.8 and itunes 11.0.4(4) it hosts a lot of music, DVD's that have been re-encoded and paid for content from itunes.
The mac mini is conntected to the network over a very good gigbit lan and has 4 apple TV3 (latest gen) hanging off the network, and multiple PC/Mac/ipod/ipad devices hanging off the network.
I connect to the itunes home sharing service with the apple TV service using the "remote" application on the ipad.
When I select Music/Albums TV Shows or Films from the menu of the itunes library the album art work loads (quickly) over the grey boxes as I scroll down. However this takes a few seconds for each "scroll" I do on the ipad (it has thousands of items in there).
The exception to the rule is any paid content, when I open Music/TV/Films menu on the ipad the paid content (especially for TV and Films) the artwork is already there, and doesn't have to load it.
How is the artwork for paid content contained differently than the artwork for content I've manually put into the itunes library.
If I look at the itunes library locally on the machine hosting the itunes data, the artwork is there straightaway, no loading, pull up the items info with "get info" and click on art work, the artwork is there, and I can see no different in the art work settings for paid content or for content I've manually updated/loaded an image for.
So why/how does the paid for content have artwork on the ipad the exact second I open it over the network, yet the non-paid for content take a few seconds per screen to load it.
Is there something different in how the art work is embeeded, or is it a caching setting ? whats the difference.

You don't saw what size and resolution the embedded artwork is. This could be part of the issue. Artwork on movies you purchase from the iTunes Store is 667x1000 at 72 DPI so if yours is larger than this is could be causing the delay.

I don't think the list style transfers. Copy and paste the text in to Mail, select it and then choose "Insert Numbered List" as a work around.

Enabling Mute if Use Side Switch is set to Lock Rotation
Swipe up along the bottom of the screen to display Control Center (you can do this from any screen, including the Lock screen).
Tap the Mute button.

OK Gang... Since I didn't get a resolution here I decided to forego the 30 minute hold time and called Apple support. (I was just tired of seeing Prince's face on my James Taylor album!).
Here is how to resolve this issue:
In iTunes, select your phone and choose the 'Music' tab
Unselect 'Sync music' then click 'Apply' (basically sync again)
All your music should be removed from your iPhone at this point
Now select the 'Sync music' option again and sync again

Album art work on iPhone issue

Recently I removed all the music from my iPhone 4S and stared from scratch. 99% of my Music in my iTunes has album art work and it's really helpful for me when look for a song on my phone cause I remember what the cover looks like. After a put music back on my iPhone a lot of my albums don't have there art work displayed. I have also come to notice that it only from some of my purchased song from iTunes and does it. I thought IOS6 would fix this but it didn't. Is there anyway this can be fix without restoring my phone and starting from complete scratch? It also seems to be happening on my iPod Touch (4th Gen) and my NEW iPad..
