How do I generate a pulse with a user specified puse duration, down time and repitition, and then out put to a graph and then to daq ports?
I used lab view in engineering class, but that was the extent of my usage and after fiddling around in lab view and looking on the web looking for solution, I could not produce desired results. My professor wants me to produce something that will output a pulse for a specified duration, then downtime for another specified duration and then repeat the process a specified amount of times.
I am using labview version 7.1

Are you using hardware (DAQ card) to generate this pulse or are you planning on doing this all in software. If you have a DAQ card in LabVIEW you can go to Help » Find Examples and then select Hardware Input and Output » DAQmx » Generating Digital Pulses » Gen Dig Pulse Train-Finite.vi. This will use a counter from your DAQ card to generate a finite number of pulses at a specified frequency and duty cycle. Give this a try, or let me know if you are not using hardware, and we can figure something else out.

If you want the other user to be able to see the pics, but not add to, change or alter your library, then enable Sharing in your iPhoto (Preferences -> Sharing), leave iPhoto running and use Fast User Switching to open the other account. In that account, enable 'Look For Shared Libraries'. Your Library will appear in the other source pane.
Any user can drag a pic from the Shared Library to their own in the iPhoto Window.
Remember iPhoto must be running in both accounts for this to work.
The library stays in the Pictures folder for this. -

You may have to set up different user accounts in the computer if you wish to
continue sharing the computer among other people, and only use the Mail app.
Otherwise, if you use a webmail such as yahoo, gmail, or other, just use a browser
and login each time; then there is no saving of your email to the computer as such.
I've never used an email client software, nor had an ISP based email account. So
my numerous computers have never downloaded email into software. No loss.
But the answers do include setting up extra user accounts, not admin level, so the
other users do not mess with the operating system; a standard account or just a
guest account to use a browser to access web-based login email accounts, works.
There are third-party email client for OS X, some are free applications, others are
part of a larger browser product, such as SeaMonkey, & other Mozilla derivatives.
They provide an email segment or client aspect; unlike Firefox that's a browser.
Setup information should be within the Help viewer in the computer itself. Or by a
simple search online, including the OS X version and any email client software
your computer may have installed. Some browser software includes email client.
Also there are several ways to go in this matter. I don't see questions, only answers.
To learn how the Mail application works, if you want to import everyone's mail, then
figure how to set up user accounts in the OS X. Or use web-mail & login by browser.
Hopefully you can find the best solution for the unasked question.

This is a image of the ipod already restore, and everytime looks like that!If restoring the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod dow not solve the problem you likely have a hardware problem. In that case either make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store or call AppleCare. If defective, Apple will replace your iPod at no cost.

I backed up my iMac with a "WD My Passport" using the Time Machine option and tried to restore my iMac but it only saved my applications none of my documents, photos nothing else! What happened?
There should be two sparse bundles on the TC, one for each Mac. If you click the TC in a Finder sidebar, you should see something like this (in Column View):
If you see the sparse bundle for the iMac there, but not on the window where you do a full system restore (after starting from your Recovery HD or OSX Install disc), they may be corrupted (especially if your iMac was failing at the time of the last backup).
Try repairing those backups, per #A5 in Time Machine - Troubleshooting.
Then try the full restore again, per Time Machine - Frequently Asked Question #14. Note that if you suspect problems on the most recent backup, you might want to select an earlier one. -
How to continuously generate a pulse train with variable frequency

I am trying to use NI-USB 6259(BNC) to send Pulse signals to conduct position control of a servo motor with labview. The position control of servo motor follows these rules:
The number of the pulse train determines how many degrees the motor rotate ;( e.g. the angular position of motor)
The frequency of pulses determines how fast the motor rotate; (e.g. the speed of motor rotating)
The digital determines the direction of rotation of motor (e.g. clockwise or counterclockwise)
My question comes when I need to continuously generate a finite plus train signal in a period of time. Below is a sample:

Here is the explanation of this table, the motor keeps rotating in clockwise direction during 0~1s. When the time reaches 1s, the motor just complete the rotation of 923 pulse signals. And then the motor starts to rotate in counterclockwise direction during 1s~2s. When the time reaches 2s, the motor just complete the rotation of 3540 pulse signals. So we can see that the rotating speed of motor in 0~1s is different from the speed in 1s~2s. Namely, the frequency of pulse signal in 0~1s is different from the frequency in 1s~2s.
I have already use the counter output of DAQmx, it just can generate pulse signal with certain numbers and certain frequency in one time. The attachment is the vi which can generate a finite digital pulse train from a counter output channel and the frequency, duty cycle, Initial delay, and Idle state are all configurable.
How can I continuously generate a series of pulse train with varying numbers and frequencies during a certain period of time.

I already checked that article. The frequency in that Vi can change dynamically, but the method of adjusting the frequency is ‘manual’ .Below is the front panel of that Vi. When the Vi is running we can change the frequency by press the button.

I am trying to generate a single 8V pulse of 10ms duration on multiple channels of the 9472. The 9472 is in slot 4 of the 9172 compact daq chassis. To test my results, I have connected an oscilloscope to one channel of the 9472 (with no load attached). I tried modifying the Create Digital Waveform VI from the Write Dig Chan-Ext Clk example VI. In doing so, I generated a binary array with the first half of the array filled with all 0's and the second half of the array filled with all 1's. When I triggered my O'scope on a rising edge, I saw the channel turn on (also the LED was lit on the 9472). However, the channel stayed on even after the routine had completed (LEDs were lit solid). So to try to turn the channel off, I appended one 0 to the end of my array. Now the O'scope won't trigger and I see no sign of the LEDs on the 9472 blinking. Any ideas how I can solve this problem?

How can we generate a pulse train with variable inster pulse delays?
I want to generate a pulse train with random inter pulse delays (100us-10000us) and the pulse width would be 50-100us. I programmed for single pulse generation using counter cfg,a for loop contaning set attribute parameters pulse spec 1 and pulse spec 2. I changed the pulse spec 1 value in every cycle
This program is generating the pulses but not the exact values in the sense the some times the delays are more than 10 msec. As per the program the delay should be maximum 10 msec. please help me ASAP.

I would suggest to take a look at the example program linked below. It shows how to change pulse specs on the fly. You have to be make sure you are ignoring a certain error when doing this.

I want to generate a pulse waveform using the pwm outputs of 7344. How can i very the frequency of the PWM programatically.If you are programming in LabVIEW, you can use the Configure PWM Output VI to set up the frequency of the pulse train. If you are in any other language, you can use the NI-Motion API and call the flex_configure_pwm_output function to achieve the same result. Please refer to the NI-Motion C reference help that gets installed with the NI-Motion 6.0 driver or follow this link:
