Bi Publisher is great, but has a very high price tag. It's even more expensive than Forms & Reports Services. We are considering APEX to replace Forms & Reports on the web, but the reporting limitations are still a problem.
I wonder if there is another option.

Spend a few minutes just getting familiar with what is available here. Take special note of the "books" and "search" tabs. Under the "books" tab (for 10.x) or the "Master Book List" link (for 11.x) you will find the complete documentation library.
Spend a few minutes just getting familiar with what kind of documentation is available there by simply browsing the titles under the "Books" tab.
Open the Reference Manual and spend a few minutes looking through the table of contents to get familiar with what kind of information is available there.
Do the same with the SQL Reference Manual.
Do the same with the Utilities manual.

I run a series of tests on multiple stations and I need to generate a report, both electronic and one to be printed for a DHR (device history record), for each station. If I use file i/o as you suggested is the preferred approach to generate an electronic file and make the report from that, or generate both the electronic and hard copy report from arrays as the measurement data is acquired. Note that the electronic data is more detailed than the data in the hardcopy report.

Hi,
Once we make the MAster infoobject as the data target, then we can create the report on the master data. to make the IO as Data target , you just need to mention the tick mark for Infoprovide check box in the MAster data /Texts tab page of the IO.

How can I generate portal report that give list of iviews-roles-users

I need to generate a portal report that will list all roles and iviews that assigned to them.
iviews can be assigned direclty or trough worksets/folders/pages.
Is there a way I can create such a list? Is it requires development? If so, Is anybody already deveopled such a report and can share the code?

Hi Ami,
I cannot assure that this can be achived with portal application. Coz we are trying to get iviews n role info assigned to users. i.e. Portal object info.which is not stored in d server as it appears to end users. it will be stored as PCD ID based., not name based.
The requirement might need to develop Portal Applicaion at SAP NWDS but, i am not sure of displaying iviews. Also we can get the Role IDs of assigned role but not Role.

Can I create a link on my generated report that will issue the mailto command and email the results of this report run?

You will have to include some Javascript in your report, I guess. A simple solution is provided by Internet Explorer itself:
File -> Send -> Page by Email
Or you can run your report with destype=mail, but you don't have a preview that way.

b) MCTE
c) MC+E
d) MC+Q
which you can explore whether they meet your requirement.

Unfortunately i don't know how to import the BPM Reporting Activity into VC?

In Visual Composer, choose Model Open... .
A list with all available models appears.
Browse the model structure and in the context menu of a model, choose Open Model.
The selected model opens for editing in the Design board.
Choose View->Task Panel -> Search to search for BPM DataSources.
The Search dialog appears.
From the Select provider dropdown menu, select BI Data Sources.
From the System destination dropdown menu, select BI (Sql) Portal.
In the Search for Table field, enter the name of the generic process or process context DataSource you want to find. You can use an asterisk (*) in the search string as a wildcard to search for a partial match. Choose the Search pushbutton.

Generate Portal reports in PDF format

How can I generate Portal reports with the output in PDF format and send it as an attachment using email (UTL_SMTP)?

Portal itself does not have the facility (unless they've added it recently but that would seem to me to make no sense). Use a report writer (the run-time library for Oracle Reports is part of the 9ias install) which have such facilities and allows the resultant file to be saved on the reports server which you can then send as an attachment using a proc you write with utl_smtp package (although, some report writers may already have that facility built in). If you don't like that option, Adobe sells packages that provide APIs to convert files into PDFs (you write the file to the server using the utl_file package assuming the db is Oracle, you could also write to the client's FSO but that's bad form). Or, if your really over-ambitous, you can attempt to write your own application to convert the file but then you'd need to know the PDF internals (and don't re-invent the wheel anyway). As above, you'd need to write an smtp-based package to pick up those files.

ACCORDING TO THIS CODE sum of these column SUM(a.AMOUNT),SUM(b.LABOUR_AMT),SUM(c.AMOUNT) are not correct and there are one more problem if BILL_NO is not in LAB_WORK_DTL JOB_CARD_DETAILS these table then result shows NO DATA FOUND but BILL_NO is avalable in
TRANSACTION_DETAILS this table.
How can i generate this report .

/Can you define the relation between these three tables. I see in your sql you are joining the three table with the column PARTY_NAME. Is that the proper joining condition? Can you explain that.
And also when you say this
ACCORDING TO THIS CODE sum of these column SUM(a.AMOUNT),SUM(b.LABOUR_AMT),SUM(c.AMOUNT) are not correct What exactly do you mean. What is not correct? Can you show some sample data.
And also it would be of great help to all the people here if you format your SQL and use {noformat}{noformat} tag to preserve the format of your code.
