How do I generate the sample EJB Client

The online documentation says, by right clicking on EJB in system navigator, I should be able to see the context menu for creating a Sample EJB Client. However, I only see "New Java Client" and that too is disabled. Can somebody tell me how do I generate the Sample EJB Client.
Thanks
vimal

The right-mouse option is on each individual session bean.

Thanks for the reply with the very helpful details.

I suspect that we are in a no win situation here - an Elements Organizer 12 issue.
With Elements Organizer 11, 10, and 9, I can bring your MPEG2.mpg into the Elements Organizer with thumbnail with
image. I cannot for Elements 12. And, I am working with the same MPEG2.mpg in Elements Organizer 9.0/9.0.1, 10, 11,
and 12 on the same computer. In the morning, I will look Elements Organizer 13 as well.
In my work with 12, this MPEG2.mpg consistently crashed the Elements Organizer 12.
It is difficult to explain these results by invoking a missing codec theory since all was done with the same sample on the
    same computer.
    More later.

How can we generate the reports in html or text file formats from HTMLDB?

    Hello all.
Bi Publisher is great, but has a very high price tag. It's even more expensive than Forms & Reports Services. We are considering APEX to replace Forms & Reports on the web, but the reporting limitations are still a problem.
I wonder if there is another option.

Learning how to look things up in the documentation is time well spent investing in your career. To that end, you should drop everything else you are doing and do the following:
    Go to [url tahiti.oracle.com]tahiti.oracle.com.
Locate the link for your Oracle product and version, and click on it.
You are now at the entire documentation set for your selected Oracle product and version.

Spend a few minutes just getting familiar with what <b><i><u>kind</u></i></b> of documentation is available there by simply browsing the titles under the "Books" tab.
Open the Reference Manual and spend a few minutes looking through the table of contents to get familiar with what <b><i><u>kind</u></i></b> of information is available there.
Do the same with the SQL Reference Manual.
Do the same with the Utilities manual.
You don't have to read the above in depth. They are <b><i><u>reference</b></i></u> manuals. Just get familiar with <b><i><u>what</b></i></u> is there to <b><i><u>be</b></i></u> referenced. Ninety percent of the questions asked on this forum can be answered in less than 5 minutes by simply searching one of the above manuals.
Then set yourself a plan to dig deeper.
    - Read a chapter a day from the Concepts Manual.
    - Take a look in your alert log. One of the first things listed at startup is the initialization parms with non-default values. Read up on each one of them (listed in your alert log) in the Reference Manual.
    - Take a look at your listener.ora, tnsnames.ora, and sqlnet.ora files. Go to the Network Administrators manual and read up on everything you see in those files.
    - When you have finished reading the Concepts Manual, do it again.

  • How i can generat the ".top" file at ultiboard

    Hello
how i can generat the files of our pcb design like " .top " file to use it for making our bourd by the machine

I assume you are talking about exporting gerber files and NC drill files. Go to File >> Export and you can select one of the options...
    a) Select one of the Gerber RS274 options, then click Properties, here you can select which layer you want to export. Based on your comments, you are looking for probably Copper Top, Copper Bottom... but maybe you may want to export also the Board Outline, Silkscreen Top and Bottom, etc. It will depend on your board manufacturer which files they need. On you have configured which layers to export, then click OK and you are back to the Export dialog, now click the Export button and it will start exporting.
    b) For the .drl and .rep files, in the same Export dialog, select NC  Drill, you can then select Properties to configure it, or Export to create the files.

  • How will you generate the work schedule in live system

How will you generate the live system
    Appreciate for sppedy answer

Your live system must be open for table changes if you want to generate your work schedule rules - this will need to be done by your basis team.
Usually, work schedule rules are generated in development and transported through to production.  The generation is performed by using program RPTSHF00 (or transaction code OG00).  You generate as a batch with the 'BTCI = ''/online, ='A' or 'E'"field set to E.  This will save the generation to a transport.  If you have a lot of work schedule rules, you may need to split the generation over more than one transport.

  • How do I access the remote(requesting) clients IP address through the Portal API?

How can I access the remote(requesting) clients IP address through the Portal API?
On our 4.5 - IIS system, we can acces it using the Request.ServerVariables("Remote_Addr") in the ASP pages.
We are deploying 5.0 on Java Portal and would like to be able to do this through the Portal's API so I can call it in one of our custom login Activity space or control etc.
I have looked documentation for the HTTPServletRequest object. It seems like we should be able to access it through one of the methods getRemoteAddr if we can get a handle to HTTPServletRequest object through the Plumtree's framework.
I think the XPRequest object encapsulates the HTTPServletRequest but I didn't see getRemoteAddr method listed in the Javadocs.
Is there a way to access the client's IP address through the Plumtree's framework?
I need to do this so we know the location of the user and in our business case we have fixed IP adresss which let us identify which location is user accessign the system from. We can't do this through preferences or profile because we have to use generic userid for the specifc group of users.
Any help on this would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

Hi, Vanita. For now, you can use
    stringsClientIP = HttpContext.Current.Request.ServerVariables["REMOTE_ADDR"].ToString();

  • Set SECURITY_PRINCIPAL,SECURITY_CREDENTIALS in sample EJB client to what?

    Hi!
    I'm getting an:
javax.naming.NamingException: Lookup error: java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: connect; ...
from a sample client class that JDeveloper generated from an Entity Bean that it generated from a Table.
I haven't successfully been able to the Oracle 9i IAS on a separate machine, so I'm using JDeveloper's embedded OC4J for now.
In the Database Connection is specified the DB user and passwd, in ejb.jar and orion-ejb.jar i created a role "serious-user" and specified that it can access all the Bean's methods.
I'm not sure if the DB access is refused because something is wrong or missing about those role definitions or because I'd need to instanciate some session or the like..
so far, I only have: Entity Bean, sample client generated from it, ejb-jar.xml and orion-ejb-jar.xml .
the generated sample code says this:
                   Hashtable env = new Hashtable();
                   env.put(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY, "com.evermind.server.rmi.RMIInitialContextFactory");
                   env.put(Context.SECURITY_PRINCIPAL, "admin");
                   env.put(Context.SECURITY_CREDENTIALS, "welcome");
                   env.put(Context.PROVIDER_URL, "ormi://localhost:23895/current-workspace-app");
Is the security principal supposed to be changed to the role I've defined? What about the security credentials?
    challenged,
    Lukas
Btw: Something might be wrong with my Jdeveloper/OC4J setup ..
In a different project, trying to retrieve the ServletContext from a Servlet's init() method gets me a null pointer exception.

I'm having the exact same error message with my Sample Client. And I get this error even though I have made sure to run the Entity Bean, and the Session Bean. When I run these EJBs, i get no errors and it looks like the embedded OC4J is getting launched.
So there must be something else going on, at least for me. But What??
Also, where do you specify whether you want to Run the client against a standalone OC4J instance or the Embedded OC4J instance?
Thanks and whoever answers my question will receive my undying gratitude as well as a few good karma points.

  • Buffered event counting. Why can't I explicitly sequence generating the Sample Clock Pulse and reading the counters?

At irregular occasions I need to grab counts from several counters, and buffering the counts must be done simultaneously for all counters. I'm modeling my approach after zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/5404 which someone kindly pointed out in an earlier thread. However, that example only uses one counter, and you can't test the synchronization with only one counter, so I am using two counters configured the same way, and they're wired to a single benchtop signal generator (for example at 300 kHz).
What I want to do, I can test in a loop with a somewhat random wait in it. I want to drive a hardware digital output line high for a few ms and then low again. The hardware line is physically connected to terminals for my timing vi's Sample Clock Source and so will cause them to buffer their counts for later reading. After I pulse this line, when I know new good buffered counts await me, I want to read both my counters. If their bufferings are simultaneous, then each counter will have counted the same number of additional counts since the last loop iteration, which I can check by subtracting the last value sitting in a shift register and then subtracting the two "additional counts" values and displaying this difference as "Diff". It should always be 0, or occasionally +1 followed immediately by -1, or else the reverse, because buffering and a count could happen practically at the same moment.
When I do this using a flat sequence to control the relative timing of these steps, so the read happens after the pulse, the counters often time out and everything dies. The lengths of time before, during, and after the pulse, and the timeout value for the read vi, and the size of the buffer and various other things, don't seem to change this, even if I make things so long I could do the counting myself holding a clipboard as my buffer. I've attached AfterPulse.vi to illustrate this. If I get 3 or 10 or so iterations before it dies, I observe Diff = 0; at least that much is good.
When I use two flat sequences running in parallel inside my test loop, one to control the pulse timing, and the other to read the counters and do things with their results, it seems to work. In fact, Diff is always 0 or very occasionally the +/- 1 sequence. But in this case there is nothing controlling the relative timing such that the counters only get read after the pulse fires, though the results seem to show that this is true. I think the reads should be indeterminate with respect to the pulses, which would be unreliable. I don't know why it's working and can't expect it to work in other environments, can I? Moreover, if I set some of the pulse timing numbers to 1 or 2 or 5 ms, timeouts start happening again, too. So I think I have a workaround that I don't understand, shouldn't work, and shouldn't be trusted. See SeparateSequence.vi for this one.
I also tried other versions of the well-defined, single sequence vi, moving the counter reads to different sequence frames so that they occur with the Sample Clock Source's rising edge, or while it is high, or with the falling edge, and they also often time out. I'll post these if anyone likes but can't post now due to the attachment limit.
Here's an odd, unexpected observation: I have to sequence the reads of the counters to occur before I use the results I read, or else many of the cycles of this combine a new count from one counter with the one-back count from the other counter, and Diff takes on values like the number of counts in a loop. I though the dataflow principle would dictate that current values would get used, but apparently not so. Sequencing the calculations to happen after the reads fixes this. Any idea why?
So, why am I not succeeding in taking proper control of the sequence of these events?
    Thanks!!!

Kevin, thanks for all the work.
    >Have you run with the little execution highlighting lightbulb on? -Yes. In versions of this where there is no enforced timing between the counter and the digital line, and there's a delay inserted before the digital line, it works. There are nearly simultaneous starts on two tracks. Execution proceeds directly along the task wire to the counter. Meanwhile, the execution along the task wire to the digital high gets delayed. Then, when the digital high fires, the counter completes its task, and execution proceeds downstream from the counter. Note, I do have to set the timeout on the counter longer, because the vi runs so slowly when it's painting its progress along the wires. If there is any timing relationship enforced between the counter and the digital transition, it doesn't work. It appears to me that to read a counter, you have to ask it for a result, then drive the line high, and then receive the result, and execution inside the counter has to be ongoing during the rising line edge.
    >from what I remember, there isn't much to it.  There really aren't many candidate places for trouble.  A pulse is generated with DIO, then a single sample is read from each counter.  -Yup, you got it. This should be trivial.
    >A timeout means either that the pulse isn't generated or that the counter tasks don't receive it. - Or it could mean that the counter task must be in the middle of executing when the rising edge of the pulse arrives. Certainly the highlighted execution indicates that. Making a broken vi run by cutting the error wires that sequence the counter read relative to the pulse also seems to support that.
    >Have you verified that the digital pulse happens using a scope? -Verified in some versions by running another loop watching a digital input, and lighting an indicator, or recording how many times the line goes high, etc. Also, in your vi, with highlighting, if I delete the error wire from the last digital output to the first counter to allow parallel execution, I see the counter execution start before the rising edge, and complete when the line high vi executes. Also, if I use separate loops to drive the line high and to read the counter, it works (see TwoLoops.vi or see the screenshot of the block diagram attached below so you don't need a LV box). I could go sign out a scope, but think it's obvious the line is pulsing given that all these things work.
    >Wait!  I think that's it!  If I recall correctly, you're generating the digital pulse on port0/line0...  On a 6259, the lines of port 0 are only for correlated DIO and do not map to PFI. -But I'm not using internal connections, I actually physically wired P0L1 (pin 66) to PFI0 (pin 73). It was port0/line1, by the way. And when running some of these vi's, I also physically jumper this connection to port0/line2 as an analog input to watch it. And, again, the pulse does cause the counter to operate, so it clearly connects - it just doesn't operate the way I think it is described operating.
For what it's worth, there's another mystery. Some of the docs seem to say that the pulse has to be applied to the counter gate terminal, rather than to the line associated with the sample clock source on the timing vi. I have tried combinations of counter gate and or sample clock source and concluded it seems like the sample clock source is the terminal that matters, and it's what I'm using lately, but for example the document I cited, "Buffered Event Counting", from last September, says "It uses both the source and gate of a counter for its operation. The active edges on the gate of a counter is used to latch the current count register value in a hardware register which is then transferred via Direct Memory Access...". I may go a round of trying those combinations with the latest vi's we've discussed.

  • How do you change the Selected Email Client

I have created a form that submits XML data by email.
The first time you click the "Submit by Email" button, a dialogue box opens up and asks you to select one of 3 options: "Desktop Email Application", "Internet Email" or "Other".
The problem that is occurring is that people will either not read the statement or out of ignorance select "Desktop Email Application" when in fact they have internet based email. There is no apparent way to go back and reset this preference.
Does anyone know where this preference is stored and how to change it?
Alternatively, does anyone know how to generate the XML file by an alternate method that could be saved and then attached to an email?
This has been a major problem that has prevented the use of this form, any help would be greatly appreciated.

This setting is handled by your Operating System.  On Winddows (Win7) you go to Control Panel->Programs->Default Programs->Set Default Programs.  On OS X you set this using the preferences of you email client.  For example launch Mail and go to Mail->Preferences->General.  The first setting is for default email client.
    Hope this helps.

  • How do I control the sampling rate of a PCI-6602 counter

    Labview version: 7.1
    Processor: Pentium 4 1.8 GHz
    Hello All,
I have two avalanche photo diodes connected to two counter entrances on a 6602 (ctr 0 and ctr 1).
As can be seen in the attached VI, I'm generating a signal on ctr2 and using that as an external clock for the counters.
My objective is to accurately read the counter values at a rate of ~100KHz (i.e. 0.01 ms between measurements) and to be able to control the rate via the front panel. This should be possible (80MHz timebase), however when I run the program it is only able to actually sample at ~5 ms intervals. Also I'm encountering error 200141 even though I set the rate in the counter to 1M, which should buffer enough.
What am I doing wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks a lot,

    Hello Aadam,
After looking at your code, I would not use the DAQ assistants to implement this. The DAQ assistant are best to be used for simple acquistion and since you are looking to use more lower level properties of you card, I would suggest to move to use the lower level VIs. It will be easier to understand where the problem is occurring at and will run better than using the DAQ assistant.
I have done some initial research for you to implement this design. I have described each of them below and how they will assist you.
The first example I have found is the Change Counter Output Frequency While the Task is Running. In this example, it will show you how to change the frequency and duty cycle of a counter output frequency task. One thing to remember about these counters are that the frequency will not change until the period has finished. For example, if you changed the frequency in the middle of a period of frequency of 1 Hz, it has to complete the 1Hz period before changing it to the next frequency.
The next example I would investgate is in the NI Example Finder called Correlated Dig Write With Counter.vi. The NI Example Finder can be found in Help » Find Examples... This VI will explain how to use the counter as a clock for another task. You will need to combine the concepts of the first example with this to make sure that you can vary the sample clock.
Finally, in the NI Example Finder, there is an example how to count digital events with an external clock called Count Digital Events-Buffered-Continuous-Ext Clk.vi. With this example, I first suggest to add the counter task and make sure you can get the external clock to work. After this, I would then implement changing clock.

  • How can I install the sample rpts activity universe

We have an install of boe xi r2 but no sample reports.  I created / setup the auditing database and downloaded the boexir2sp2 collaterals from the esd and need to know how to install?  Can the collaterals / sample reports be installed on a disk other than the system C: disk of the server running boe?

Yes, we are using crystal reports.
I look at the Activity Universe properties and the connection = Auditing Connection
I go to Universe Connections the connection named Auditing Connection Exists, but there are no other properties.
The system DSN for the auditing database is on the server and named Crystal11Audit and does connect to the auditing database.
I open crystal, connect to repository, under Enterprise items the Auditor folder exists and has the sample reports.
I open the failed jobs report, set datasource locations, I see the report datasource, and the Universe Query
    I'm not sure how to:....
Check whether the connection is fine or not, and it points to the correct Database Service.
Use the proper client, if not using the DSN.
I can navigate to current connections and use the dsn to the audit database and connect to the audit database but I don't know how to veriffy or reset the report to use that connection as I'm not getting any ability to 'replace with'  by selecting or creating any other connection...
    Hi Bart,
    Are you using Crystal Reports?
We can check whether the connection is working fine or not, by creating a new report from the activity universe.
Check whether the connection is fine or not, and it points to the correct Database Service.
Use the proper client, if not using the DSN.
If we are not able to create reports based on the activity universe, logon to the Universe Designer, and then import the Activity Universe, and then edit the connection to the 'Finish', and then export it, and try to create a new report.
If we are able to create a new report, then we should be able to refresh sample reports.

  • How do I use the J2EE EJB container with the FULL version of Tomcat

The version of Tomcat integrated in J2EE is really cut-down. I want to be able to run the standard Tomcat 4.0.1 to give the full JSP facilities, but I also want to be able to use EJBs from the J2EE.
If I copy the j2ee.jar, j2ee-ri-svc.jar and home interface to the "lib" directory they do not appear to be loaded, as I cannot resolve the javax.ejb.EJBHome.class.
If I copy the same library into the application's WEB-INF/lib directory then the naming jaxax.naming.InitialContext gives a context without the java:/comp/env entries.
I do not want to use another EJB contrainer after having got used to deploying apps with J2EE.
If anyone can help I would be greatful, and post a thanks message with duke dollars!
    Chris
    10 Duke Dollars available

I have done it before and basically it is not that difficult, but in practice not that easy ;-)
All you need to do is see Tomcat as a client to the EJBs. This means deploying the application in two parts: the webapp as a WAR to Tomcat 4.0.1, and the EJBs to J2EE. Both running and started independantly.
This ofcourse means that the WAR file must have the stubs of the EJBs to be able to communicate and access to j2ee.jar to get the InitialContext.
    So:
    - compile the EJBs
    - create the EAR (containing only EJBs)
    - deploy the EAR
    - copy the stubs to the libs directory of the webapp
    - compile the webapp
    - create the WAR
    - deploy the WAR
    Off you go.
