How do I get 2nd monitor working using DVI-D port on an HP Pavillion 400-314 desktop. VGA works, 2nd monitor does not work using an adaptor for the DVI-D to VGA. Win 8.1 64 bit no place for add on cards. built in jacks only
DVI-D is digital only while VGA is analog. There are many adapters on the market that worked from DVI to VGA, however these will not work for DVI-D. There are adapters (here). The way to ensure that you are getting the right adapter is to look at the blade area of the DVI-D side. There should be four pins around the blade. These four pins provide an analog signal that can be adapted to VGA. With this adapter you should have no problem connecting your second monitor.

Does the iOS device connect to other networks? If yes that tend to indicate a problem with your network.
Does the iOS device see the network?
Any error messages?
Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

I followed the instructions, but once I turn on "Home Sharing", the word "Shared" disappears from the left hand column of the iTunes window. So, where can I link to my other computer so I can share my music??
Make sure that the iTunes version is updated on your computers that you are using for Home Sharing. Also, I think that all of the computers have to be on with iTunes pulled up while you are trying to transfer data.
You have to have Home Sharing turned on with both computers. If you do have Home Sharing turned on with all of your computers, are your 'Shared' computers all authorized under the same account? If not, they should be.
Have you checked 'Share my library on my local network' in preferences? You should have the box checked for both computers.

The iPad will not go to sleep at all, but don't forget to set it back to 5 minutes or whatever time you want to use in the settings so that you don't burn through your battery any faster than needed. -
