How do I get a CD to eject, it seems to be stuck?

Restart the computer and as soon as it powers up, hold the eject key on the keyboard. If this doesnt work then:
Go to Appliactions, Utilities, then Disk Utility. The CD should be displayed in the panel on the left hadn side, Select it and click the 'Eject' button at the top (or right click the CD and click eject)

Which iMac do you have? There are many variants made since 1998 that have different optical drive systems.
Do "About this Mac.." from the Apple menu and post what that window shows. If its shows Processor" as "Intel," you should repost in the forum for current iMacs here:

Otherwise, you are in the proper forum section (older iMacs 1998 through 2006), and we simply need to know what model.

There should be a small opening right next to the DVD port. That is the ejection mechanism. You need to stick something small, long and hard (like a bobby pin) in it to manually eject your CD. Don't go gorilla when putting it in but use firm pressure. That should work.

My MacBook Air won't stay off. I turn it off and it will wait anywhere from a few seconds to a few hours and turn itself back on. You can see how that can get annoying and I can't seem to solve the problem.

I have read the the advice you gave, and I had already tried that. It did not help.
When I tried to download an album with nine songs, (I have paid for the complete album), two songs were missing. One of them has showed up/disappeared a couple of times, but with a cloud/arrow-symbol next to it, what I thought to be a symbol for downloading from the cloud. When I click it, it starts a downloading process, and then I am told it cannot be done, "please try again later". The other song is nowhere to be seen. The song with the cloud/arrow-symbol, I bought 3 times, once with the album, twice just the song. That didn't change matters. iTunes tells me I have downoladed all songs I have purchased.
I do not really understand why you do not understand what I am writing, I only describe what happens when I use iTunes.
If a person want to use iCloud, one needs an iPhone, iPad or an iPod Touch. That information is not given until you have downloaded and installed the iCloud program. That is why I have it on my computer, but cannot use it. To set up an iClod account, you have to connect one of the above mentioned devices. I don't have one, so I cannot do it.
If you want the (13013) problem explained, I suggest you google it. I am not the only one to have that problem.
I am thankful that you spend time on trying to help me, but I cannot explain things clearer than this.

so I have put the G4 install and restore CD into the drive and held down the C to reinstall the software ..

how do I get the disc OUT to put in the G4 install 1 disc? I have tried holding down the eject button during various phases of the whole start-up shut-down process. I maybe should run the techtool disc first though. I did get it hooked up with the Terminal drive process and have everything that I need and now I would just like to get this baby reformatted! and reinstalled!

Hi,
Try using Open Firmware.
To eject a disc with Open Firmware commands, follow these steps:
1. Restart the computer.
2. Immediately after the startup sound, press and hold the key combination Command-Option-O-F.
Note: The Command key has the Apple and () icons on it.
3. Release the keys when you see a white screen that says "Welcome to Open Firmware."
4. At the prompt, type: eject cd
5. Press Return, then wait a few seconds. The disc drive should eject any disc that is present, and "ok" appears behind your command when the action is complete.
6. Type: mac-boot
7. Press Return.
Your computer should now start up normally.

How can I get Time Machine to eject drive

Since I installed Mavericks, I can't eject my 1 TB Seagate external Drive that I use for Time Machine. I get a message that it is in use by another program and can't be ejected. I can only eject by "force ejecting". Drive is connected via USB. Time machine appears to be working ok, I just can't easily eject the drive, which makes me a little nervous. If I turn off Time machine and then plug in my drive then it ejects just fine. If I mount the drive with time machine turned on and then turn it off, the disk has to be force ejected. If I have TM turned on when I mount the disk and it is turned on when I try to eject, it has to be force ejected. Any suggestions?

The best quality you can get is to first understand that the biggest frame you can play back using a DVD player is 720x480. So no matter how big the image is going into iDVD it is throwing away some information to get it all to fit 720x480. Your best option then is go to Share Menu > Media Browser... Then choose the Large size.
Open iDVD and find your video project by clicking on the Media button in the iDVD lower right hand corner. Then above that there's the media browser window with the Movies button on the right hand side. Click Movies button and browse for your project under the iMovie star icon.
Drag that project into a clip and burn the project to a DVD-R.

How do i get my file back when it seems to have been lost or replaced?

My Mac froze and then shut down so i started it up again to find my indesign file had been replaced with a much older file with practically no work on. I closed the document and tried opening it again but it now will just open as a much older file. I think my file has been completely lost and it had so much work ok.
