How do I get a charge on my ipad 3?

Before I updated my ipad 3 on yesterday I was able to plug in my charger and hear the charging sound. Now I plug in my charger and its as if it is not plugged. Before the update I had no problems now I have to plug it into the ipad then restart it. Once I restart the pad it charges. Please help me either to fix this frustrating dilemma or show me where I can go back to the prior instead of 6.1. Thanks!

I don't think it's the software update. Usually when there's issues with charging it's one of four things
Bad power brick
bad outlet
bad cable
ANd if you can swap those out and eliminate htem then there could be an issue with the port on your iPad. the port on my iPad went bad. You can try restarting your device and keeping an eye on it. however you may want to make an appointment at your local apple store and have them take a look at it.

If the 'report a problem' link doesn't work then you can try contacting iTunes Support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption
If the purchase was made on an iOS device then to try and stop it happening again you can use Settings > General > Restrictions to turn off in-app purchases, and you can require your password to be entered for every download.

The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). What type of account did you set-up on the iPad, POP, IMAP, the items on your iPad could have downloaded off the server or you will need wait awhile for the message to update to the iPad.

I've done all of these things, and nothing is working. I understand how the cloud is supposed to work, and I understand how to sync via itunes. For some reason, the calendar is the only thing that isn't syncing.
I have support on the phone now. We've figured out that if I make a calendar entry on icloud from my PC, it follows through on my phone and ipad. Same if I make the entry on my iphone - it follows to icloud on my PC and ipad. But when I make the entry on the ipad, it doesn't follow through to my iphone or icloud on my PC.
I've had a tech walking me through all of this for about a half hour now. Can't figure it out. He's checking with his senior tech, has me on hold right now. It's looking like I may have to make a trip to my nearest Apple store, 45 minutes away.

How do you get multiple screens on the iPad with iOS 5.1.1? We just upgraded to iOS 5.1.1, and we see no way to be able to open multiple screens at once. Before, there was a small button in the upper portion of any window. That button would take you from a particular window to the place where multiple windows are open at once. Does it do it differently? Is there a special setting button that we have missed? Thanks!
One more thing: We are only talking about Safari.

I don't think I've seen a way to have separate Safari screens visible at the same time. The small thumbnails were deleted in one of the iOS updates, and replaced with a multiple "Tab" system.
You can open an additional screen in a new "tab" by pressing and holding on a link until a new menu comes up.

Thank you for your reply Domingo. Your suggestion worked as far as sending me a link to buy the book at iTunes. But it did not allow me to download the book from my wife's account. I did finally get an answer from Apple. It took an entire day of emailing back and forth and the final answer was relatively easy once Apple finally decided to give up the solution. Basically, you have to open ibooks and sign out. Then you have to sign into ibooks using the book purchaser's Apple ID and password. Then you can download the book onto your device. Not too bad, huh? It only took a whole day of Apple people sending me wrong instructions before they figured it out. Geez. What a disappointing experience.
