My friend bought an ipad 2 with wifi and 3G, and used to have a data plan until she switched it to her new ipad. I would like to buy a plan, with AT&T, but I have no idea how. Can someone helps me?

Settings > Cellular Data > there's a link to set up your account.
If it doesn't show call your carrier and ask to set up an account there.

Xfinity is a cable provider that offers Internet and voice as well. If you don't have a 3G or 4G iPad, you don't have a data plan at all. Is your iPad a 3G or 4G iPad or WiFi only?
If its Wifi only, the only reason that you would need a data plan is if you have a mobile hotspot like a MIFI device. AT&T data plan on the iPad would have nothing at all to do with having AT&T service for your home.

Restore from the iCloud backup - assuming that you were backing up to iCloud in the first place. If you weren't using iCloud for backup - then you are out of luck.
If you were backing up to iCloud - you have to erase all contents on the iPad in Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings - before you can restore from the iCloud backup.

You should have restored from the backup before you synced the iPad. If iTunes created a new backup when you synced, the old backup may have been overwritten and the data may be gone.
Without connecting the iPad to your computer, launch iTunes and go to Edit>Preferences>Devices. Do you see a backup in that window from the day that you backed up the iPad before you sent it out to be replaced? If you do have a backup from that days, you can try restoring from that backup. While you are still in that window, click on the box that says - prevent iPods, iPhones .... From syncing automatically. Click OK. Quit iTunes.
Connect the iPad to your computer and launch iTunes, right click on the iPad under devices and select Restore From Backup. Select that backup from the window that pops up and restore from it. Then sync with iTunes.
You can turn Auto sync back on in the prefers when you are done.

I'm with Verizon and they have USB devices that work very well for what you want to do. I admit that the website is not to good for finding information but if you can go into a Verizon Store, they will be able to get you fixed up on a data plan which usually includes a free USB device. I suggest Verizon as a carrier because AT&T's rural coverage is not to good.

Looking to get a data plan for the sole purpose of playing online video games

I live in the mountains of Pine Valley, CA and the seclusion is becoming intolerable. I'm looking to get a data plan with Verizon to play online video games, namely Diablo 3 or failing that due to latency, then Civilization 5. Can anyone give me pointers on if this would work and what plan I could get? Currently, I have a plan with Boost Mobile which uses Sprint cell phone towers. I tested my internet connection with speedtest.net and received a ping as low as 140 and as high as 1000, but I'm hoping the 1000 is just due to reception issues that can be fixed with a better antenna. The 140 ping is a little high too but I'm hoping this will be better on the Verizon network since I think their cellphone towers are closer. The closest landmark to me is the Golden Acorn Casino at 1800 Golden Acorn Way Campo, CA 91906. If anyone could tell me the distance from Verizon's cell tower to the casino and Sprint's and could estimate a ping value based on that, I would really appreciate it.
I like Verizon's data plan for 10gb but I'm confused on device connectivity. Is this the data plan plus whatever router device I hook it up to? I would also need some sort of antenna and a router, wireless or wired. Can anyone give me pointers on how to find these? Share Everything with a mi-fi and 10 GB would be $80 a month when you can get Homefusion for $60 for the same 10 GB. An considering the antenna is more power and outside you're a lot more likely to get reception with Homefusion. In either case it should be noted you'll need to pass a credit check and sign a two year contract.

If you can see the iCloud contacts in Outlook, you can copy them back to your PC by selecting all the contacts (click one, then press Control-A), then drag and drop the selected contacts to Contacts under My Contacts on the left sidebar of Outlook.
If you want to copy your calendar back to Outlook, select your iCloud calendar on the left sidebar of Outlook, switch to the list view (select View from the ribbon, then click Change View>List), select your events (click on a single event, then press Control-A), then control drag and drop them to Calendar under My Calendars on the left sidebar.

How did they wipe it? By using Find My iPad and performing a wipe? If so, that means they have your icloud ID and password, not a good thing.
You could try connecting it to iTunes and performing a restore from iCloud. But if they changed password, then you are out of the loop. How did they get your password in order to change it?
