How do I get a HD video project to look good in SD?

I have been trying to use Premier to produce videos for our church's kids programs since Christmas. They look great until I burn them to DVD and then they look grainy or fuzzy. Might as well use an old SD camera. I just started searching the forums but the one article that looked like it would help only showed what to do with Premier Pro, using features that are apparently unavailable with Premier Elements.

Well, you've got a number of things going on there, RJ. So it's likely going to take a lot of time and effort to make this project work.
For one thing, you've got several video formats mixing in the same project, which is a sure recipe for disaster in Premiere Elements.
The video from your Sony Cybershot is apparently AVCHD -- though I can't find any specs for the camera online so I can't make any specific recommendations on working with it.
Your Sony H55 shoots in a variety of formats, including non-AVCHD MP4 1280x720p, which is usually not compatible with Premiere Elements. (Do not shoot any of your video in 24p, by the way. You'll only further complicate the issue. Stick to traditional formats like ~30 fps and 60i.)
And I can find no information on the type of video that Videonics mixing board is creating. (It's a pre-non-linear editing device, and was not made to interface with a computer.) But converting it to an MPEG will likely only make it less compatible, in this particular case.
But in any case, you should NOT be using the HDV project settings for this project, since none of these devices is producing tape-based HDV video.
So I'm not sure where to begin. Whether you should try to get the program working with one particular format and then hybrid the others, or if you should try to figure out a way to convert all of these videos to a common format.
To convert them to a common format:
1) Open an AVCHD project for your Cybershot video. You'll have to check your cam's specs to know which of the available project presets you should use. Then place your Cybershot video on your timeline and use Share/Computer/AVI with the DV preset to output your video as DV-AVIs. (Since you ultimately want to create a standard def project.)
2) Open a new project with the AVCHD Lite (1280x720) project setting, and then place your H55 video on your timeline and use Share/Computer/AVI to output it as DV-AVIs.
3) I don't know what to do with the video from your mixer board, but ideally you want to output it as 720x480 DV-AVI video also.
Once you've got all of your video converted to DV-AVIs, you can open a new project using the DV project preset and mix the AVIs in it. The video you output from it should look great and make a very clean DVD.
But, unfortunately, it's going to take a pretty complicated workflow to get you there. Sorry.

You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)

It sounds like you to 5 separate videos. If you start recording, then stop it, then start it again, you will have 2 videos. Not 1. As for splicing them together, you will need a video editing package for your PC. I don't know if Windows Movie Maker (or whatever they're calling it now) can handle this or not. On a Mac, I'd say just use iMovie.

You may set the slide setting as 'Advance by user'.
So,
a. Insert flv on a slide.
b. On presenter ribbon goto Slide Manager .
c. Select the slide on which flv is inserted and set Advance by user 'Yes'

Try forcing iPhoto to load the Library on the External Hard drive by launching it while holding down the Option key. Choose the Library on the External HD, and quit iPhoto, see if iMovie can see the Library with the iPhoto Videos contained inside.

2- try to open the video you want with quicktime player.
IF IT OPENS WITH QUICKTIME PLAYER:
- on imovie menu bar click FILE >> IMPORT and then import your movie. iMovie should convert it to a usable format which takes a few seconds and the your video will appear on the new event folder on the imovie screen (below "iphoto videos")
IF IT DOES NOT OPEN WITH QUICKTIME PLAYER:
- download "MPEG streamclip" or "Handbrake" or any program to convert videos into mov. (i think that's the format quicktime player plays). Anyway, if you use MPEG STREAMCLIP, on the menu bar go FILE >> OPEN FILES >> open the file you want (remember it should be in the "new events" folder because you just put it there in step 1). The video will open on the screen.
- still on MPEG streamclip, go on the menu bar and click FILE >> EXPORT TO QUICKTIME. This will convert the video automatically.
- go back to imovie. On the menu bar click FILE >> IMPORT >> MOVIES and select your video from the new event folder.
This is what worked for me... I am no expert, it was all trial and error, but it worked in the end!

To check your internet speed, go to: > Speakeasy Speed Test
or > Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test
Plus you can also check your internet speed using the Activity Monitor, which is in your Utilities Folder.

If you don't have your iPhone anymore, you can't access the data on it remotely.
However, if you are syncing to iCloud, you can set up iCloud syncing on your computer and at least get your contact info.
