Hello i am new to mac os i have used windows all my life so im not quite use to mac os yet so iv tried to set up the printer to work from my macbook pro but i cant get it to work. the printer is on a homenetwork connected to a windows computer which it is sharing the printer on the network i have other computers that can access the printer but they are all windows pc's. my printer came with driver software for macintosh and i have installed it but still i can not selet the driver software and still does not work

When you turn on printer sharing your mac becomes a print server and will advertise the printer using the bonjour protocol.
So on your pc download and install Bonjour For Windows
Scanning is not supported however.

How do I get the printer to work with AirPort?

I have had my printer connected via USB cable to the AirPort for a while, but recently when I had to disconnect the printer for some home improvement, I ended up with problems.
Upon reconnecting the printer to the AirPort, I started receiving this message:
USB Power
A device connected to this Apple Wi-Fi base station's USB port requires more power than this Apple Wi-Fi base station can provide. Plug the device into a power supply if possible, or connect it to a powered USB hub.
My printer is connected to a power source, but I still cannot print to it. I can see the printer when I send something to be printed, but it will not actually print.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to get my printer to work again?

Thanks for the detail. The dash separates the "main" and "guest" network.
There are a number of settings that are 2.4 GHz on both networks. The only time the dash separates 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz is on the last 3 settings.
Since the printer specifications available on the HP site show it is a b/g device only, I suspect that the printer does not like the current guest setting of 802.11 b/g/n you are currently using, which is also what it would be if the AEBS was set on Automatic.
Try the following setting:
802.11n only 5 GHz - 802.11 b/g
It's really the only choice that would keep the 5 GHz that you want on the "main" network and possibly allow the printer to connect. Unfortunately, the optimal choice for range and speed is not the setting that you may need to work with the printer.
If the printer still won't connect, I would call it a day and when it comes time for a new printer, look first for an ethernet device or at least an "n" device that will handle 5 GHz if you want a wireless printer. The advantage of an ethernet printer would be that it would also work over your wireless.

HT3500 I have mosx Lion have no driver for my photosmart c4580 printer and the printer test page gives no ip address. How do I get my printer to work?

We bought a new Mac bookpro using the latest version of lion 10.8. We also have a c4580 photosmart printer and have bee unable to find a driver down load for this printer and our Macbook. We have tried to use u tube and other sites including Apple support to try to connect to our printer. We run a printer test page and the ip address comes up "not applicable". Do we need to connect the macbook to the router? What are we doing wrong? HP site will not give us a driver download. I have to buy it. Seems simplar to goand buy a new printer but this one is still good. Can anyone help? We are not as software savy as alot of you out there. Thanks.

Hi, I have just bought an apple iMac and I can't get my printer to work. It is a Sansung ML laser 4500. I tried to download a driver on thee Samsung website but can't get a driver. Please advise how I can get this printer to work as I don't want to buy another printer.

Samsung does not have an OS X driver for their 4500 series printers. You can check in Print & Fax to see if a driver is provided in OS X, but if Samsung doesn't make a driver for OS X then it's unlikely you will find one that works. Of course you can try the Generic driver, but no guarantee it will work. If it does only some printer functions will be supported, if any.

For Airprint to work your iPhone and printer must be on the same local network. Your printer must support Airprint (see here for list: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4356).

How to get Network Printing to work with Brother!!

So i have my BROTHER DCP-7020 printer connected to my Windows machine and i've been sharing the printer on the network with my old iMac 24' which prints perfectly. Now i have the 27' imac and i have no idea why it won't do printing via network, plugging in USB works fine, i've installed the driver but it doesn't look like it did anything. It just worked on my 24' without any hassle, it gets detected in the "Printer Settings" automatically and i dont recall doing anything to get it to work before.
Can anyone give me some tips of why it won't print and what I need to do in order to get network printing to work on my new Mac?
By the way BOTH MACHINE runs SNOW LEOPARD.
