How do I get actionscript animation to video?

I have a flash movie with actionscript animation that I need
to convert to video. How can I do it? Every time export it to video
from Flash (8 pro) I get nothing but stills. I have a number of mx
transitions that would take forever to convert to timeline
animation. Please help.

You have the right idea. Since Flash seems to ignore AS
generated animation like interactivity, the only option left is to
record the screen while the animation is running. You can either go
hardware or software for this.
Software would be the most convenient, but I can't recommend
a specific screen capture utility for the Mac, as I'm on a PC.
However, if you go to versiontracker.com and search for OSX screen
capture utilities, you should find one. Also some other Mac users
may be able to help.
For software conversion, the general method is to get your
flash sized as close to the final video size on the screen. For DVD
this will be 720 x 480. If you can modify your Flash stage to be
this size, it will simplify the process, as many capture utilities
can capture from a window instead of the whole screen. Capture the
video at 30 frames per second, uncompressed. .It will be a large
file, but all the quality will be maintained at this step. If
"uncompressed" is not an option, choose the quicktime animation
compressor, as this will do a lossless RLE compression, and still
maintain the quality. Next you will have to transcode the video to
MPEG2 for DVD. Many of the burning and authoring packages can do
this. Or a video editing package should be able to do it, as well.
The free video package that comes with OSX (can't remember the
name, imovie maybe??) can export for DVD, also.
The other route is hardware: For this you will need an scan
converter and a recorder or camcorder with inputs. Many of the
miniDV cameras can take an analog or DV signal in and convert to
MiniDV on to tape. Many low cost encoders have come on the market
to allow powerpoint or games to be displayed on a standard TV. And
many of them allow you to pan, zoom and center the image. The
general method is to size your desktop for the max resolution of
the encoder, usually xga (1024 x 768). Size your Flash as big as
possible on the screen. Plug your Mac video out into the encoder.
Plug your Mac monitor into the encoder (to pass the signal back to
the monitor so you can see it). Plug the encoder into the inputs of
your recorder or camcorder. Play the animation and start recording.
Then use your firewire to capture the video back into the computer
as a DV file. Convert to MPEG2 as described above.
Here is a link to a cheap scan converter at buy dot come as
an example.
http://www.buy.com/prod/startech-com-vga-to-ntsc-pal-pc-to-tv-video-converter/q/loc/101/10 313177.html
Another place to check for a scan converter is
bhphotovideo.com. They have a lot of video stuff for Mac.
Sounds complicated, but Flash is not really made for this, so
you have to "improvise" I have used both hardware and software to
convert both Flash and Shockwave animations to from the PC to DVD,
so it is possible to get good results. Hope this helps.

  • How do I get songs from iPod(video) to iTunes(7 and using VISTA).

How do I get songs from iPod(video) to iTunes(i'm using iTunes7 and Vista).
I don't have the disc, cause i can't find it. But my computer downloaded the ipod, it just cant find the files?
i've been looking through the topics for the past hour and none of them helped. Maybe i'm stupid i dont really know, but i've restored my old computer a couple times and i found a post and it helped both times. now i can't find it anymore.
THIS IS THE ONE I'VE BEEN SEEING AND IT DOESN'T HELP ME ONE BIT:
Connect your iPod to your computer. If it is set to update automatically you'll get a message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all the songs from your iPod. Your iPod should appear in the iTunes source list from where you can change the update setting to manual and use your iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Also when using most of the utilities listed below your iPod needs to be enabled for disc use, changing to manual update will do this by default. Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in Summary then press the Apply button: Managing content manually on iPod
Once you are safely connected there are a few things you can do to restore your iTunes from the iPod. If you have any iTunes Music Store purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. You'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod to a computer
The transfer of content from other sources such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, this is just a small selection of what's available, they are generally quite straightforward. You can read reviews and comparisons of some of them here:

    YamiPod Mac and Windows
    Music Rescue Mac & Windows
    iPodCopy Mac and Windows
iRepo Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
iPod Access Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
There's also a manual method of copying songs from your iPod to a Mac or PC. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available on page 2 at this link: Copying Content from your iPod to your Computer - The Definitive Guide
Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync. I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay.
Can someone give me a link, or tell me one that shows step by step.

Here is a way of doing it, for another take on this, search the forum for posts by Zevoneer.
    Copy from iPod to PC
It is important not to allow your iPod to sync with an empty library. If it is set to synchronise automatically you will get a message saying your iPod is linked to a different library and asking if you want to sync – it is important to press cancel as syncing with an empty library erases all music from your iPod.
You can also prevent auto sync by holding down shift & ctrl as you plug in your iPod and keeping the keys held down until the iPod appears in iTunes.
Once you are connected, you need to set your iPod to manage music manually.

If you have an iPod with iTunes Store purchases on it, you can use it to copy your purchases to other authorized computers.
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=iTunesWin/7.3/en/2586win.html
However this is not allowed for other music.
This MacMuse tip tells you how to copy music from your iPod using Windows Explorer, but it is a bit fiddly:
    http://discussions.apple.com/messageview.jspa?messageID=797432
Otherwise you can use third party software to manage the transfer, there are a variety of programs out there, some free and some that will copy ratings and counts as well as the music files. Here is a selection, check them out and see what suits you.

    Hello,
Flash Player is only supported on Apple OS X systems (10.6 - 10.10).  It is not, and has never been, supported on any i-Devices.  There are no plans to support these platforms.

Restore is like wiping hard drive of the computer, to get anything back in that case is only possible if you have backup. If you did create backup, follow instructions here to restore from it.

Connect the 5 to a computer and see if it is recognized. If so copy the pictures from phone. If not, you are out of luck.

For the first question: place one video on top of the other, as a connected clip. Change the size and position as you wish.
You have many questions that suggest you are very unfamiliar with the application. I think you'd be well served by going through a few online tutorials. All the things you ask are easy and fun to do in FCP X. It is best to learn by seeing it done. Look at rippletraining.com, izzyvideo.com, and others. I am sure you'll find that it will be time well spent.

  • How can I get the best quality video on YouTube?

I tried what you posted from another poster, Steve, but had a problem at step 2, the part in red.
    2. Import this AVI file into Windows MovieMaker, place the file on MovieMaker's timeline and Publish (to your hard drive) a
    WMV, dvd-quality (4:3 size) PAL 3,0 M.
When I click Publish, the only option I get is "YouTube" and "Get Add Ons".
Since the option I was told to take didn't exist, I clicked "save movie" and then "high definition 1080p".  Hey I'm just trying to figure this stuff out.  I'm new to it, so I picked the highest quality I could find.
Well, the result is a movie on YouTube that is OK, but nowhere near the quality of the movie on my computer. Just for fun, I uploaded the AVI file to YouTube from MovieMaker.  It was a huge file, it did upload, but the quality was still not there.
So, I return to my original question, which is almost the same as the originally posted question:
How should I save video with Premiere Elements to get the highest quality video to post to YouTube?  The videos were taken in AVCHD format, but after editing, I don't know the best rendering option to get the highest quality video when viewed on YouTube.  The videos look great on my computer, but on YouTube, the video is really degraded.
    Thanks for any help!
I have an i7 processor, 8 gigs or RAM, and am running Windows 7 x64.  Video editing is with Premiere Elements and my video camera is a Canon HG10 that shoots AVCHD.

I had the best success using the John Cloudman method from the link you posted.  The video was much better quality  on YouTube (in my opinion) with this method than the method of going to Movie Maker etc. I tried John Cloudman's Frame widtht of 1280 and Frame Height of 720 and then frame width 1920 frame width by 720.   I found 1920x1080 better quality on YouTube than Mr. Cloudman's 1280x720.
I pasted in the part of the link below that I found most useful. A big thanks to John Cloudman for posting this!!
    John Cloudman offers further advice:
From the Share tab,  choose Personal Computer and then QuickTime.  Choose the Cable Modem,  DSL preset and then click the Advanced button.
From the  settings window, do the following:
    b Video Tab
    *Video  Codec: H.264
    *Quality: 100
    *Frame Wdith: 1280
    *Frame Height:  720
    *Frame Rate: 29.97
    *Field Order: None
    *Pixel Aspect  Ratio: square
    *Set Bitrate: checked
    *Bitrate: 8000 kbps
    b  Audio Tab
    *Audio Code: AAC
    *Output Channels: Stereo
    *Frequency:  44kHz
That should generate a .mov file that Youtube will  handle correctly.  You can modulate that Bitrate to reduce the amount of  data size, and  you can modulate the Quality number to reduce the  encoding time. I  wouldn't go lower than 3000 kbps for a bitrate or  below 50 on Quality.  Hope this helps everyone!

  • I updated my software last night and when I came back to the computer its says there was a problem and I need to restore factory settings. How do I get my photos and videos off the phone

I plugged in my phone to update to the latest software. After a while, I went back to the PC and it said there had been a problem and that I needed to restore the factory settings.
I am worried that I will lose all the photos and videos that I have on the phone. How do I get them off.
When I now plug the phone it the screen looks like when you first get it - i.e. itunes logo and asking me to plug in.

If the device has been used as designed, the pics and via taken with the device would have regularly been copied off to a computer.
The first step in the update process via iTunes on the computer is a backup.
Restore the device from the most recent backup.
If data is lost, then it is merely the fault of the user for not backing up the device or saving their data regularly.
Once the device is in recovery mode, the ONLY option is to restore.
