How do I get Adobe to help with an installation problem?

I removed Windows Vista, and installed XP instead. Then tried to install CS3 using the file I downloaded from Adobe 2 years ago. It installed Acrobat, but the other components (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) failed with “Component not installed.” No error message. Never even asked for my serial number.
Phoned Adobe support on Sunday: closed.
Phoned again on Monday. Told to run CSClean. Did not solve problem. Phoned back. Swapped around departments (2 hours total on hold.) Promised they would email a link to download the installation file again. No email sent.
Phoned again Tuesday. More hours on hold. More promised link. Never sent.
Phoned again Wednesday. More hours on hold. Finally given a zip file link. Downloaded it 3 times, using different software (browser, FTP client.) I received the exact number of bytes on Adobe’s server, but the file is “not a valid archive” — rejected both by Windows itself and by WinZip.
We’ve now lost 3 days work, and cancelled clients for Thurs as well.
Utterly frustrated! WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO TO GET ADOBE TO HELP???

    On Monday I took delivery of a brand new "refurb" MacBook Pro 17" from Apple. Once I'd done the initial registration with Apple, I swapped the boot drive for a Samsung 512GB SSD and installed all my software, including Creative Cloud CS6.

    In my naivity, I assumed that hitting "Continue" was a valid and supported action (I mean, that's what it says, right?) So I did this, and all seemed fine.
    Sadly, that evening, the new MacBook Pro died (with a power supply issue unrelated to my SSD upgrade). Happily for me, the hours I had spent instaling software were not wasted as I was able to remove the SSD, pop it in a USB caddy, and boot my old MacBook Pro from it.
    At this point, starting Photoshop triggered the same dialog as above, but because that had worked before, I naively hit continue, entered my details, and all was fine.
    Perhaps I should explain that one of my SSD performance tests was to load up a 200M pixel image into PhotoShop.
    I found that as a USB drive, both booting and Photoshop were quite a bit slower. I tried it on my iMac too. Finally, I tried installing the SSD in my old MacBook Pro (it has fast, but I got a kernel panic after a while).
    A replacement new refurb MacBook Pro arrived on Wednesday, so once I'd registered it I popped the SSD into it, and it has been fine ever since. Except that I can nolonger get Creative Cloud to activate. When I hit Continue and enter my details, I now get ...
    I found that the problem did persist, so I contacted support, and that is where the nightmare really began. I have since clocked up about 4 hours of online chat and phone calls with Adobe staff, and they have been unable to resolve the issue.
    I have now explained my story several times to various Adobe employees, and they've made certain promises that they have failed to keep (e.g. like calling me back, or emailing me updates).
    At least one person has suggested that I would have to wait 72 hours for the issue to clear, and that I should use a trial activation in the meantime. He even tried to show me how to rename a PCM cache file, which he didn't get quite right, but which didn't work even when I worked out how to do it.
    My supscription is paid up, yet I don't have access to the software I have paid for. I have only followed the direction of the dialog boxes that Adobe's software has provided. I have not tried to use the software on more than two machines.
    I am extremely frustrated. I've asked Adobe staff to escallate the issue, and they say they have, but nothing has happened. I've said that I want to raise an official complaint, but this has fallen on deaf ears. I think Adobe have a lot to learn from Apple in terms of customer care. It took Apple less that two days to get me back up and running, and that involved shipping new hardware to me!
    In desperation, I have turned to this forum for help.
    Do you know how to make it work?
    Do you know how to get Adobe to take you seriously?
    Who should I complain to, such that my situation is taken seriously?
    I get the impression that there are some issues with the new cloud activation software. I've certainly had some funnies over the past couple of months, but this is the first time I've been permanently locked out of software that I have paid for.
    Yes, perhaps I was naive in hitting continue so many times, but I was only doing what the software suggested, and not breaking any licensing rules.

    How did you get through to customer service?  They've changed the website and I can't even find phone numbers or a chat button any more.
    Here's my story that I posted on discussion yesterday, but no one has replied:
    I am screaming and pulling my hair out right now!  The last six months with Adobe has been a nightmare.
    Once again I am completely locked out of Creative Cloud and cannot use the apps even though my automatic monthly deduction for payment was just made a couple of days ago.  Creative Cloud continues to reset itself to the trial version which runs out in 30 days and after that I am locked out once again.
    Now it looks like it is harder to access support than before.  Where are chat and the phone numbers now?  This was a nightmare with countless hours spent on chat and the phone over the last six months, and now I don't even know how to access support in order to spend even more time that does not solve the problem.  What am I to do?
    I cannot use the product I have paid for!
    Please help!

No response. A couple weeks ago, I tried the Chat function. It was assigned a number, but Chat was unavailable and no one responded. Just tried Chat again, which says it is available 24/7, and it is unavailable. What can I do short of buying a new license, which I will not do.

    Adobe Support is for problems installing and licensing their software on your computer, not to fix something you’ve done by mistake, unless you pay for their support which will likely cost quite a bit.

    It may depend on the plugin that is loaded into your browser. However, right click on a PDF and select the Open With option and go to the default button to select Acrobat as the default. That might do it.

    There is no serial number require for Creative Cloud products, you may activate the products using your email address and password which is associated with Adobe. If your Dreamweaver asking for serial number, then make sure you are signing in with correct email address.

    in this case I would download a really new trial version of your program(s) in question and change it/them into a "real" version later, BUT because you said, that you "re-installed" already, so it becomes a little bit complicated. It would be necessary that you have to use "Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner Tool".
    Here an advice for that (The order varies depending on your individual needs. Please read all my proposals first, so you can better choose the first step:)
    1. Maybe you have to activate/deactivate, so please have a look there:

    2. Sometimes, we know in the meantime, the "opm.db file" is the culprit. In this case you should delete it.
    3. You did already try "uninstalling and re-installing". Be careful with (de)installing aso. by (de)installing by your own resources. As much as I regret it and as strange as it may seem I fear it's a challenge for Adobe's Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool. Sometimes - for whatever reasons - CC doesn't "want" to work. In this case you should CC completely delete and reinstall by help of Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool. (A try to uninstall by own resources is not enough!)

    Based on what you've posted, your computer does not have the right tuner.   You need a QAM tuner to record locals from FiOS, or a CableCard tuner to record all local and cable channels from FiOS.

    1. Update iTunes to the latest version. Plug in your iPod. If iTunes still can't recognize it, then in iTunes in the top left corner click help> run diagnostics. On the box that comes up, check the last two things. Click next and it should identify your iPod.
    2. Click on your windows start menu. Type in "services". Click on it and when it pops up, on the bottom of it click on "standard". Now Scroll down to find "Apple Mobile Device" Right click it when you see it and click on "Start". When it has started, close iTunes and replug in your iPod and it should show up.
    3. Check the USB cable
    4 Verify that Apple Mobile Device Support is installed
    5. Restart the Apple Mobile Device Service and verify that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed.
    6. If you just want to add some photos, songs and movies from computer to your devices, you can use an iTunes alternative to do the job
    7. Check for third-party software conflicts.

    Welcome to the Apple Support Communities! It sounds like you did a good job editing your Apple ID and primary email address, but you didn’t sign out of iCloud on your iOS device before hand. What you may need to do in this situation is go back to the Apple ID website and edit your Apple ID and primary email address back to the email address that is signed in with iCloud (there is no need to verify the account after editing it back to the old account, just changing it back is enough). Once your Apple ID is back to the original account, delete the iCloud account from the iOS device and be sure to keep all info on the device when prompted. After you delete the iCloud account, go back to the website and edit your Apple ID and primary email address back to the new address. Once it is back to the account you would like, you can sign into the iCloud on the iOS device with that new account and merge all of the data when prompted. Please use the following article as a reference.
