How do I get all the e-mail addresses alphabeticall when I want to send rather than all of them in no order

Before this new version of Thunderbird, when I typed in the first letter of an e-mail address, it would display all the e-mail address starting with that letter and I could pick the address which I wanted. Now, when I type in the first letter of an e-mail address I get all the e-mail addresses in my address book in no particular order and I wind up with all the e-mail addresses in my 'write' command. If you pick the one you want to send, you invariably wind up with addresses you don't want in your 'to' box. Is there some way I can get back to the old system which was a lot easier and less frustrating than the new version that just seems to defy common sense and reasoning and is very inconvenient as it takes forever to get the e-mail address right that you want to send your message to?

If you migrated your MobileMe account before 1 August you should have signed into System Preferences>iCloud with it, and you would be able to see your calendars, bookmarks and emails on the iCloud website. Is this the case? Did you sign into iCloud with your @me.com address?
If you did not migrate your MobileMe account you can no longer do so.
If you did migrate, did you do so from a full MobileMe account or from a Family Pack sub-account? the latter did not get the complimentary storage (because their iDisks were only 5GB anyway).
If you had a full MobileMe account, check on your Mac - System Preferences>iCloud - and see whether that shows the upgrade. If it doesn't, you probably need to contact Support: if you currently happen to have AppleCare, either because you recently bought Apple hardware or have paid to extend the inititial period, you can contact them here:

If you are not covered by AppleCare, then - in common with other free email services - there is no free support (MobileMe Support is no longer available) and you may be asked to pay a fee: in this case you should ask them to deal with it without cost (and hope they agree).

How do I get back the e-mail page layout I had in previous version?

In previous version of Firefox, in SmartZone, I could do away with the ads on right side by clicking arrow and widening screen to show list of e-mail messages. I also had boxes next to each message to check to delete message. After I downloaded message I could click on each file and get a thumbnail version of file, usually a photo. CAN'T DO THAT NOW!
How can I customize my screen to the way it was? Do I just revert back to previous version?

What exactly do you want to do ? If he doesn't already have an email account then you can create one via http://gmail.com or http://hotmail.com etc

Or without giving credit card details : Create an iTunes Store, App Store, or iBooks Store account without a credit card or other payment method
To use that account on the phone, log out of your account on it by tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store and if logged into iCloud then Settings > iCloud > Delete Account (Settings > iCloud > Sign Out if it's on iOS 8)

For FaceTime, can you add an additional e-mail that is not your Apple ID e-mail? Everytime I try to do this on my iPad it sends me a verification e-mail saying I am trying to change the e-mail address associated with my apple ID and wants me to verify.

I am trying to add another e-mail address to FaceTime, but do not want to change the e-mail address associated with my Apple ID. Everytime I try to add the e-mail address in my FaceTime settings, it send me a verification e-mail asking me to verify that I want to change to this new e-mail address for my apple ID. I do not. I just want to have an additional e-mail address for people to contact me via FaceTime. Does anyone know how to do this?

You can have multiple addresses associated with your apple id. You will have to verify any changes before they can be added and this is done by sending you an email. This is to protect you from someone else makeing changes to your account.

I spelled the e-mail address incorrectly when I signed up for the iCloud service but didn't notice it until it was set. How can I change the address to be spelled correctly? If it means deleting the incorrect one and then adding the correct one I can't figure out how to do that either!

You can't change and iCloud email account address once created. You can either create a new iCloud account, or add an @icloud.com email alias address to the existing account, which will receive email in your existing iCloud inbox (more details here: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mm6b1a490a.
If you would rather create a new account and keep your data, start by saving any photo stream photos on your phone that you want to keep to your camera roll (unless already there) by opening your my photo stream album, tapping Select, tapping the photos, tap the share icon (box with upward facing arrow), then tapping Save to Camera Roll. If you are syncing notes with iCloud that you want to keep, you'll need to open each of your notes and email them to yourself so you can later copy and paste the text into new notes created in your new account. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password to turn off Find My iPhone and choose Keep on My iPhone when prompted. Then sign back in with a different Apple ID to create your new account and choose Merge to upload your data. When you turn Mail on you will be asked to create your new iCloud email address. Type carefully as it cannot be changed later.

Check all the addresses in the group to make sure they're correct. Many mail servers, Exchange for example, will reject a message entirely if any email in the group is incorrect.
