How do I get an app to reinstall with no data from the first time?

Basically, I just want to restart the game, but when I reinstall it, the button doesn't say install, it is an cloud with a down arrow inside.

Hi, if the App is in the Dock, right click, choose Options>Open at login.
Or System Preferences>Accounts>Login Items window, drag the App there or click on the tiny plus icon to add it.

when it show a cloud to the right then it's not on your device
it mean that it's tied to y our iCloud account and can be redownloaded should you wish to
if you buy other music from iTunes and don't want it on the iOS device anymore because you transferred to your computer
and wish to add other music then that too will show with the cloud it mean that should you wish you can get it downloaded again free
it's pretty much the same deal in app store app where you can click on purchases and access all apps tied to your appleID

How do I uninstall an app entirely, not just deleting it from the Launchpad? I've delete the app at the Launchpad, but the remaining files of it are taking up space in my macbook. How do I do that?

As Cunnla says, the best way to remove an application and all auxiliary files associated with it is to use a developer supplied uninstaller or, lacking that, directions on uninstalling from the developer. Unfortunately, there are a number of applications which have no developer uninstaller nor instructions.
Some won't recommend it, but I use AppDelete for those apps with no instructions. It gets rid of most auxiliary files and I've never had a problem with it. I just make certain that the auxiliary files that AppDelete selects are, in fact, associated with the application.

App file sharing: files are displayed only the first time...

clicking somewhere else and then back to the application that you want to share files are not there any more.
I've to close and re-open the itunes in order to see them again.
itunes is running on windows 7 64bit.
is this a bug ?

Hi! I have the same, exact problem. The files are displayed only the first time I look at the apps listed under File Sharing. If I look at another app on the list, the files on the one I previously checked are gone when I look at it again. Is there any way to fix this? I have a Lenovo X61s on Windows XP Professional 32 bit.

How can I get my emails back into my hotmail account from the Mail app

I started using the Mail app some weeks ago because I apparently needed it, to be able to open an invitation for an iCloud shared photo folder. As soon as I registered my email into the Mail app all my emails from my hotmail account where deleted from the hotmail server. I really hope that this is possible to revert because if not, it'd be a catastrophe for me. I use that account from several devices for work, and I need those old emails in the server to be able to work again!

You can use the iPhoto Export feature to do that. Furthermore, it's the best way if you want to keep the quality of the pictures.
To put the photos in the Pictures folder, first open iPhoto and then, select Edit menu (on the menu bar) > Select All. Finally, go to File menu > Export, and export your photos to the Pictures folder, so they will appear on all Time Machine backups you create since then

How do I get my apps to sync with my ipad after I have updated to the OS 5.

I updated to OS 5 last night. I have all my music and apps on my itunes, but when I go to sync the ipad it doesn't transfer my apps tp the ipad. This is frustrating.

Do you have the apps selected to sync and have the Sync Apps heading selected as well?
Are you using the correct Apple ID and iTunes account?
Do you have restrictions turned on in Settings>General>Restrictions>On?
If you have checked all of those things, try unsyncing all of the apps - uncheck the apps and sync that way, then check (select) all of the apps to sync and sync again.
You can also just try restarting or resetting your iPad and then try to sync again.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

How do I get Mail to download mail and delete it from the server?

I don't think Mail is downloading my E-mail from my server to my computer.
My main e-mail account is set up as a POP mail account and I have it set to: "remove a copy from server after receiving message: right away"
I have a couple of years of e-mail on my computer and it was getting slower and slower to access many of e-mails. I checked the e-mail account on the server and the file size was huge. I browsed the file and there was a ton of old e-mails in my mail file. I figured this is what was making it really slow to access my e-mails. So I went the the setting in Mail under the advanced tab that says: Remove Now. I clicked it and it took a long long time but then my mail file on the server was emptied. But when I went to access the message in the Mail program I would get this message in italics in the body of the e-mail:
The message from Kathleen <[email protected]> concerning “Re: Tivo” has not been downloaded from the server. You need to take this account online in order to download it."
I was online and all my e-mail messages had this exact message (with the name and subject different). Why is that. I thought POP meant it was suppose to download to my computer?

Verify/repair your disk first (not just permissions), as described here:

After having fixed all filesystem issues, if any, and making sure that there's enough space available on the startup disk (a few GB, plus the space needed to make a backup copy of the Mail folder), try this:
1. Quit Mail if it's running.
2. In the Finder, go to ~/Library/Mail/. Make a backup copy of this folder, just in case something goes wrong -- e.g. by dragging it to the Desktop while holding the Option (Alt) key down.
3. Locate Envelope Index and move it to the Trash. If you see an Envelope Index-journal file there, delete it as well.
4. Open Mail. It will tell you that your mail needs to be "imported". Click Continue and Mail will proceed to re-create Envelope Index -- Mail says it's "importing", but it just re-creates the index if the mailboxes are already in Mail 2.x format.
BTW, you haven't answered which mailbox has the problem. I could be that just rebuilding that mailbox fixes it -- you should verify/repair the disk and make a backup copy of the Mail folder first, nevertheless, though.
Note: For those not familiarized with the ~/ notation, it refers to the user's home folder, i.e. ~/Library is the Library folder within the user's home folder.

I assume you want to connect the printer wirelessly. First, from the front of the printer: Setup > Network > Wireless Setup Wizard. Follow the prompts.
Get the latest software for your printer from the "Support & Drivers" link at the top of this page. Start the installer and when it asks, select "Network" or "Wireless" installation type.

Iphone not working properly, can i get a new one for free if this is the first time it's happened?

The other night I went to a friend's house and my phone was sitting on the table. Someone bumped into the table, causing a drink to spill all over my iPhone 4S. Now, the volume buttons and the volume itself no longer works. As well as my speaker phone, it's very quiet and fuzzy. All my ringtones and notifications are extremely quiet and fuzzy as well. This is my first iPhone ever, and was wondering that since it's my first and I've never ruined any other ones...would the Apple store provide me a new phone for free and be able to transfer all my data to the new phone?

You don't need to charge it unless you want to or it needs it. You can and should charge as often and as long as possible... deep discharges are hard on lithium batteries. Normal mobile use will result in the one charge cycle/month that Apple recommends.

How do I get rid of 'game of war' pop-up from the app store?

I was browsing reddit, clicked on a link that directed me to imgur, and after a few seconds I was redirected to the app store where Game of War popped up. Now I can't navigate away from this app pop-up in the app-store, and I really don't want to download it. I've cleared my cache and cookies, but this makes no difference. I would delete the app store and reinstall, only that's not possible.

hi… Just came across this post. Naturally, that's because I was looking for the same solution. Unfortunately, none of the things suggested here will work. That's because this is nothing to do with cookies or defective apps or the like.
It has to do with unscrupulous advertisers.
They are clearly inserting a script that auto directs you back to the App Store. Whether it is the app developers themselves into this… Or some agency that arranges for their banner advertising… I do not know. I have seen it attributed in many other places around the web.
I am inclined to believe that it is the developers themselves, since it happens to be only two or three specific apps that do this… The ones mentioned above and game of war and one other one, which I don't recall at the moment… Though that seems incredible, considering how many times I have had to look at their stupid pop-up.
I have also seen that Apple is trying to find a way to prevent this. And I am sure that the guardian and the Huffington Post and some of the others would try to prevent… At least I hope so. Any conspiracy theorist could imagine that they would be in collusion with this company, as it would increase sales. However, it reflects so badly on both of them that I have a hard time believing that accusation.
I continue to think that it must be the app developers.
And I think that it would be great if everybody found some way to make it absolutely clear to those developers that we will not stand for any longer. It is literally ruining the experience of using many news apps, the Safari browser, or visiting several online publications and websites. I doubt is this is an issue with the Fast Release schedule, more like an issue with a website that is incorrectly screening the user agent of the browsers being used, or with a website that hasn't been updated for a browser that was released over three months ago.
