Okay so this is my machine. I want to run Boot Camp and to install Windows XP onto the machine as I need to use certain windows programmes for my business as well as the Mac stuff.
I have no idea how to partition some of my free 26gb space to create a drive to install windows onto?
    Can any help please?

If you do really want to partition your hard drive then you need to look in your utilities folder for disk utility.
Once this is open, click on your hard drive image in the left hand column and then you will see a partition tab. Here you can split your HD into two partitions. Call one of them XP or something like that so that you know where to install windows.
It's quite safe and you can always go back to one big partition if things do not work out.
    Remember though to backup first...
    To the OP
Do not heed this advice, you should use Boot Camp Assistant to create the partition for Boot Camp, do not use Disk Utility.

  • What is the ISO image that boot camp is asking for when i try to in tall windows 7 on my mac book air?

I am at the point in boot camp where i am creating a bootable USB drive for windows installation, it has a flash drive selected but is asking for an ISO image, i am installing windows 7 and have no idea where the iso image is on the disk.

It is asking for an .iso image of the Windows bootable installer DVD. This would be the .iso file you would get had you purchased Windows and downloaded your purchase. If you have the Windows DVD then you don't need to do what you are doing. Just boot from the DVD to install Windows.
Open Boot Camp Assistant and click on the large button, Print Documentation. Read carefully before proceeding.

  • ?Burning ISO images for booting on intel.

I have a couple of iso images I'm trying to burn (DVD) as bootable on my iMac. I did it once before under 10.5.8, but for can't remember what I did. Images are vmware ESXi image and a windows server 2008 image. Just used what is on OS X. Do not have any 3rd party software.
    Thanks for your help

Use Disk Utility. Drag the .iso file to the sidebar, click it once, then press Burn in the toolbar.

Your MacPro is a UEFI model based on How to identify Mac Pro models - Apple Support since it has a Model Identifier of 6,1. From Bootcamp Info.plist
          <key>PreUEFIModels</key>
            <array>
                    <string>MacBook7</string>
                    <string>MacBookAir5</string>
                    <string>MacBookPro10</string>
                    <string>MacPro5</string>
                    <string>Macmini6</string>
                    <string>iMac13</string>
            </array>
    1. Use Boot Camp: System requirements for Microsoft Windows operating systems - Apple Support to download the appropriate drivers from the Apple servers manually to a flash drive. You will need Boot Camp Support Software 5.1.5640.
    System Requirements
    MacBook Air (11-inch & 13-inch, Mid 2013)
    MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch & 15-inch, Late 2013)
    Mac Pro (Late 2013)
    iMac (21.5-inch & 27-inch, Late 2013)
    Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1, 64 bit
    2. Remove all physical external drives except the OS X and the designated Windows drive. Manually partition your drive and create a Free Space partition of the size you want. This will be split into a 128MB MSR and remainder MS Data partition. This is called EFI installation of Windows.
    3. Insert your Windows DVD in the built-in Optical Drive.
    4. Plug-in your USB2 flash drive from step 1. Remove all other external peripherals, except Keyboard/Mouse/Display. The Keyboard/Mouse being wired eliminates issues with Bluetooth.
    5. Start BCA and choose the last option 'Install/Remove Windows'. Choose the EFI Boot from the DVD. You can also do the same using the Alt/Option key when powering up the MacPro.
    6. Windows installer should start. If it does not, please post back with any error messages.
I assume that you have not modified Bootcamp info.plist to try and create a bootable USB.

  • How can I get MagicTrackpad to work with Boot Camp and Windows Vista?

Just installed Lion and then installed Magic Trackpad. Now I need to know how to get the Magic Tackpad to work with Windows Vista in my Boot Camp partition. Windows Bluetooth recognizes the Magic Trackpad but it says the device won't confirm the passkey. No passkey came with the Magic Trackpad and the option to not use a passkey still doesn't achieve connection with Windows. Suggestions/ comments, please.
    TIA,
    Picman

    UPDATE
Just completed several lengthy sessions with Apple Tech Support (escalated to excellent Sr. Advisor). Bottom line is that there seems to be no answer to the problem of the Magic Trackpad not being able to maintain its pairing/connection with Windows (Vista in my case) or OS X (10.7 in my case) when switching Boot Camp partitions. In fact, when trying to re-pair it is necessary to remove the MTP batteries first. To pair at all with Windows requires the use of the Bluetooth passkey "0000" (not provided in MTP documentation). This achieves limited MTP/Windows functionality (cursor and "click" control only - with BC 3.1. BC 3.2 is supposed to provide more gestures, but I have not gotten there yet). Appears that when switching back to OS X, that passkey has remained with the MTP and is not what OS X is looking for, so it fails the connection. Removing/replacing the batteries probably dumps the passkey and allows the OS X connection. The Sr. Advisor says he sees this issue often (including with Windows 7) in their internal chat rooms, but no solution. He will be referring it to the engineers and will let me know the outcome. Meantime, assuming I keep the MTP, I'll have to resign myself to using a wired mouse when going to Windows (not a huge inconvenience, since it's only for Quicken; but the issue is worse than "in-elegant" for Apple!
I am satisfied that I have obtained the best possible help from Apple on this issue. If anybody has more, please reply.
    Thanks,

  • How can I get Lion to recognize my boot camp partition.

Yesterday morning I found my mac suffered from a b-tree failure and was unable to access OS X 10.6. I ended up booting into my Boot camp partition of Windows XP and backed it up then reinstalled Snow leopard. Then I upgraded to Lion, saw it fail due to a partitioning issue, created a 2gb partition called Mac HD 2 (by shrinking mac hd), saw i could install but not full install. So I created another partition and installed Lion successfully. Got into Lion and shrunk my 2x 2GB partitions into one 4GB partition. My Windows XP hard drive boot camp partition was still on my desktop. I can access all the files but I can not boot into it. When I hold down the option key there is only Mac HD or Recovery partition.
Is there any way to get the boot camp partition to work?
I did notice that when I was looking through the settings I could choose which HD was the default boot option. Mac hd with 10.7 and a folder called Windows XP were both available.

We also cannot get Robohelp to recognize our FrameMaker installation.
We are using Robohelp 9  and Framemaker 11.
We are in the process of moving all of our Robohelp content to Framemaker, but our project team still needs CHM files for the next release or so.  So we figured we could move our content to Frame 11, then import the Frame content into Robohelp when we needed to generate the CHM files.
The process works great when we use RH 10 and Frame 11, but we get the following error when we use RH 9:
"This operation cannot be completed without FrameMaker.  Install FrameMaker and try again."
I have uninstalled and reinstalled Frame 11 and RH 9, but am still getting the same error.  Buying a set of new Robohelp 10 licenses probably isn't an option.
    Any other suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Sue

  • How do I "get Windows" to install with Boot Camp

I never, ever thought I would have to utilize Windows ever again, but the real estate industry is so outrageously hostile to the Mac platform, most or all of the industry software and websites ONLY run with IE on Windows. So I'm f'ed. But I don't know much about Windows. What is the latest version? I heard Vista is really crap? Is XP better? My man question though is:
According to the Apple site, all I need to do is "get Windows" and install it through Boot Camp. On the Microsoft site under "Buy", they funnel you straight into buying a whole PC in order to get Windows. I can't find anything about just buying a copy of the OS.
Would appreciate some basic clarification on getting started with this subject...
    Thanks!

    Hi Christopher,
first for clearance: your signature states a G5 dual 2GHz. Is this still correct ?
Because BootCamp only works on Intel-Macs not on PPC-Macs like yours !!
Bootcamp itself is merely a helper application which sets the Mac up so that Windows can be installed.
For a Windows installation you have to have/buy a Windows XP Home or XP Pro with Service Pack (SP) 2 or 3 or a Windows Vista Home / Business or Ultimate.
These can be found at Amazon or Newegg for example.
You can not use so-called Upgrade-discs and manufacturere-branded OEm-disc (from Dell, Hp or the like).
You can use so-called System-Builder discs.
Personally for your use XP would be my first choice, since Vista is for my a 'Nice Try' but not more.
If you can wait a little bit, the I would propose to get Windows 7 which should be out later this year, since it's the Vista that Vista has never been.
Apart from BootCamp there are Virtualization applications like Parallels, VMWare Fusion and VirtualBox which would better suit your needs, since they allow you to run Windows while still be in OSX, whereas with Bootcamp you have to restart your Mac in order to run Windows.
    http://www.parallels.com/products/desktop/
    http://www.vmware.com/products/fusion/
    http://www.virtualbox.org/
For these you also have to have/buy a Windows license/CD.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to Get Windows 10 Image for Galileo

I purchased a Galileo gen 2 board and would like to start prototyping a project I have in mind -- but I cannot for the life of me figure out how/where to get a Win10 image for the board.  I've signed up (twice) through the 'Connect' web site (and gotten
zero replies), and the links on the Connect site that talk about getting an image if you bought your board yourself just lead to a 404 error.
    Any suggestions?

What installing the twain plug-in, you mean? Go to your applications folder. Find the Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 folder. Look in there for a folder called support files, then for a folder called optional plugins. In the Optional Plugins folder, there should be a folder called ImportModules. Just drag that from the Optional Plugins folder to the regular Plugins folder.
This will be infinitely easier to do if you put your applications folder window into list view, not the default icon view. To do that, click this button at the top of the window:

In photoshop cs5 go to Help>Updates

  • How do i get a still image to fade the same way and at the same time as a video?

I have a video stacked on top of a still image. When i add a transition, the still turns to a black screen while the video fades in accordance to the transition. How do i get the still image to fade the same way and at the same time as the video?

I do. I've applied it to both the  still image and the video. Say i used the lens flare transition. If i apply it to both the video and the still image, the video will dissolve in to the next frame, but the still image will go to a black screen and then jump to the next frame. Its almost as if i inserted a black frame instead of a transition, but only for 2 seconds. Below is kind of a peek what it looks like.

Okay, I know this doesn't answer your question, but don't get me wrong. A logo is meant to be the way it was designed - upright, no flipping/ swiveling animation. Why exactly do you want to let your logo turn around?
If its to grab attention, why dont you consider animating the area on which your logo sits (header)? Or maybe add nice transitive slideshows on your main content area to add more interactivity?
