How do I get Aperture to export to PSE 11?

I am using Aperture 3.4.4 and when I right click on a photo it goes throught the motions to export the photo to PSE11.  PSE opens, but there is no photo there.  There is a dot in the lower right corner of the photo showing that it is an exported photo.  I can then drag the photo to the PSE11 icon and it will open.  I don't understand why it won't do it the first time.  I am also having troubles saving files back to Aperture.  Any thoughts or suggestions?

Dennis,
I never tried PSE 11, but perhaps it has still the same restrictions as PSE '10, see this thread:
Re: Round-tripping to PSE 10
Things to note:
Use "Save" and not "Save as"  - otherwise PSE will not save back into the Aperture library.
Also, when saving, ensure that the the file name extension will not be changed fromm .tiff to tif, or Aperture will not be able to recognize the file again.
PSE '10 used to have an otion to save over the original file.
(Photoshop Elements>Preferences>Saving Files ; set "On First Save" to "save over the original file")

How do I get aperture to allow photo downloads from aperture to two facebook pages that are attached to my one email address.  I have icloud and photostream and I am not sure how to attach my second facebook page  so that I can download pics to that page.

I did not know you could have the same email for two different FB accounts?
I can only tell you that Aperture can upload to more than one account when they have different identifiers.

    Hi ,
Please let me know, how row migration get eliminated by export and import the table.
Another method, deleting migrated rows and inserting those rows from copied table,
i think the concept behind this method is,inserting these rows into new block.
pls correct me if i am wrong.
    Thanks,
    Kumar.

    Hi!
You can also use ALTER TABLE MOVE command, or if you are on 9i you can use DBMS_REDEFINITION package.
If you have a maintainance window the easiest way would be to use alter table move.

  • How can I get Aperture to find my lost Photos?

    Hi
In a nutshell... I'm on my 3rd iMac (2 in the last 2 months have crashed) and it has data migrated from various backups (some corrupt!), so I have a fresh iMac, with a lump of data located in various places.
Now... Opening Aperture, all my old librarys give me a message along the lines of:
    Consistencies dected, please repair.
OK. No matter what I do (repair, rebuild etc), nothing seems to get rid of the message, so I decided to grab what I can and export it to a NEW library.
This works fine now (as far as I can tell).
I have 3 libraries, the next one I came to - it only displayed 10ish photos in total. The rest of the photos were APPARENT however you can't view them - just a grey outline and the photo name - as the master is offline. I presume this stems from the data being moved around everywhere?
Now, SOME images show a grey outline, however when you double click on them - you can see them!
I understand why this has happened, due to the 3 or 4 times data has been moved about etc, but is there a way to get Aperture to find the images again? Without having to go through every single photo and re-import it. I also don't want to have to do ALL the adjustments again!
I've tried reprocessing/generating previews etc, but nothing.
    Please help!
    Thank you
    Danny

Daniel, that looks like your Aperture Libraries are referenced libraries. When you imported your images into Aperture originally, did you select to store the images inside the Aperture library or in their original location?
If your library is referenced, then it is straight forward what needs to be done: You need to reconnect your edited image versions in the Aperture Library to the master image files. Do you know where the master image files are stored? Have you restored these images from the backup as well?
If you know where these images are, then you do the following:
Open one of your Aperture libraries.
Select a set of images that need reconnecting in the browser.
Select File -> Locate referenced File from the main menu bar.
In the panel that opens select an image that need reconnecting in the upper part of the window.
In the lower part point Aperture to the location of the master image file.
Now the reconnect buttons should appear. Press "Reconnect all"
Repeat for all Libraries and other all projects.
    Good Luck.
Post back, if it does not work.

Can anyone tell me how to get aperture to launch when i connect my camera?

  • How can I get Aperture to re- synchronise with an external folder

Does anyone know how to get Aperture to re- synchronise with an external folder?
I reference my images on an external hard-drive.
I often will move images or add them via other programs. I would like to then re-sync and have Aperture add the new images to its library.
Lightroom does this very well but no joy in Aperture.
    Joe Barrett

OK I know understand your question
I do this as part of my workflow - I put all images into folders on the hard drive and then import them into Aperture as Referenced Masters
I select the Library Inspector and select the higher levelProject I want to store the images in (or create a New one)
    Then I go to the
    File
    Import
    Folders as Projects
Then select the folder tree that you wish to import - BUT ENSURE that you select where you want to store the files.
I keep them in the current location as I prefer to have referenced files
also adjust the other import controls as required.
Then run the import - it may take a while to create the library records ad Thumbnails.
Use the Aperture Preferences window to switch off Faces.
    Hope this solves your problem

  • HT4007 How can I get Aperture onto my new Macbook Pro 15" Retina that DOESN'T have a superdrive from my 5 year old Macbook Pro?  I still have the CD and serial number for Aperture. HELP! PLEASE!!

Like the thread topic says. I need help getting Aperture onto my new macbook pro that does not have a drive. I have no need for a drive after this to be honest just need my programs back on it. Thanks.

    Two options:
Make a disk image or a clone of the installer CD on your Mac that has a super drive - you can create a disk image using Disk Utility or use Carbon Copy Cloner (if you have it) to clone the DVD to a thumbsdrive. Then run the installer on your MBY from this copy.
Or download the Trial Installer and install from there:
    Download the Aperture 3.1 Trial.  http://appldnld.apple.com.edgesuite.net/content.info.apple.com/Aperture/061-8328 .20101020.AprE3/ApertureTrial3.1.dmg
Open the Aperture Trial disc image.
    Double-click the "Aperture Trial.mpkg" file.
Follow the onscreen instructions to install Aperture.
After the installation completes, choose Software Update from the Apple () menu.
Install the Aperture 3.4 update from the list of available updates.

  • How can I get Lightroom to export my edit to a jpeg that looks the same ?

    Hi everyone,
I can't get my jpeg export to look the same as it looks in lightroom after edit.
The jpeg isn't that different but still, way too much for me.
I did use sRVB, 100% no scaling etc... but it seems the export won't take "all" of my noise reduction correction..
This is a portrait shot in lowww light, and the raw file was rather crappy. Eventhough I was really happy with my smooth final edit but I can't get my jpeg to look as clean.. please someone help meee !
    Regards,

What infos can I give you all to help me sort this problem out ?
    export : quality 100%
                 sRVB
                 no scaling
In lightroom my image is just clean whereas after export, I can notice some artifacts or "moire", and it feels like the noise reduction/sharpen tool doesnt apply its correction as it should.. but it still does a bit bc it's not as if I turned it off completly...
    This is driving me crazy
I'm about to install RC3 and try with it...

  • How does on get Aperture to rename edited versions of a file

When I edit a photo, I would like Aperture to apend the edited file with a number, as in the way Lightroom does, how do I accomplish this?  The reason for this is to look at the name and know which file is which in the editing process.  If Aperture handles this in another way, I am open to this.  Example as follows: Imported file = MMC_993 imported into a project.  I would like the various edits of MMC_993 and each edit there after to be MMC_993_x when x=an additional number or letter.

Lightroom and Aperture work much the same way. There is a Master file which is never touched and is always viewed through another file. In Aperture, these files are called Versions. Every Master has at least one Version. I am not familiar enough with Lightroom to understand exactly what LR is doing, but there are a few options in AP that are very close:
-- As Frank said, there is the "Create new Version when Adjusting" options. It works, of course, but it tends to proliferate Versions to little purpose.
I prefer one of these approaches, which you envoke manually:
-- Duplicate Version: This gets you a new Version WITH all of your Adjustments to date, or,
-- New Version from Master: As you would expect, this gets you a pristine new Version, with no adjustments. Much like a "revert" command.
The new file will be a Version not a Master and the name will be "Original Name - Version 2" This seems to be exactly what you want.
As far as naming goes, you can, of course, name as you wish. The way Aperture works, I never bother to rename files; I simply don't find the file name to be useful. The one exception might be making a new Version and wanting to remember WHY I bothered to make the new Version, so I might append notes like: "Postcard Layout" or "8x10 print." I suspect that a B&W conversion might be self evident, even to me.
Others use file names and Aperture has lots of tools to rename files, etc.
    Hope this is helpful.

  • How do I get Aperture 3.5 to open - rather than 3.4.5?

I have a 4.4 GHz Intel core i& iMac - and have recently upgraded to OSX 10.9. When Mavericks had installed, a number of programs appeared in the App Store - available as upgrade - all iLife programs updated fine - but although the Aperture 3.5 update downloaded (and indeed App Store now says it is installed) - whenever I open it, I get the earlier version - The App is installed in the main Applications folder - and all other updates are installed (App Store has no further updates available) Can anyone offer any insight? Cheers!

correct - it creates a tiff file from the raw file for you to work with in CS5.
Just to take things a step further, you can change your external editor from one app to another depending on what you want to do.
In addition to using PSE6, I also use Tiffen DFX2 and Corel Painter. If I have a photo I want to do something interesting with, I might change the external editor from PSE6 to Painter and do the photo painting thing, then change the editor back to PSE6 for subsequent use. My most extravagant example is a night shot of a city, where from the nef file I have in Aperture:
    1. the original (master) unaltered
    2. three different versions of the master with variations on curves and recovery
    3. a black-and-white version as a tiff from Tiffen DFX2, using a Box Brownie filter
    4. another tiff version from PSE6 where I used a couple of gradient filters to produce interesting night lighting effects, and finally...
    5. A Corel Painter tiff where I overpainted part of the photo with watercolour.
When I look at these in Aperture, there are a total of seven images in the stack, of which 3 are tiff files. I hope that makes sense?

  • How do I get aperture to automatically insert a .png overlay onto incoming photos from a tethered camera and constantly view the incoming photos in full-screen without retreating back into gallery?

As per the discussion title, I would like to be able to shoot with a tethered camera that will input images and display right away on my Mac on full screen, with each incoming photo display as such without ever going back to gallery view, and in each instance a .png graphics template is automatically overlayed on each photo that enters aperture such that when I print every photo the graphic template will appear on print.
Is aperture able to do this on its on? If so, how?
If not, is Apple script the only way to make this possible?

Would it then be possible to direct aperture tethered shoots to a folder where aperture will hot import, from which I can use action after import via the scrip as you mention?
I've seen it being done with my own eyes but I wasn't able to inquire more...

  • How do I get Aperture 3 when purchased before the App Store?

In 2010, I had downloaded the Trial verion of Aperture 3. I decided to buy it digitally and paid the $99.00 (at that time.) I still have the email from Apple confirming the purchase of the Aperture 3 Trial Upgrade. It worked fine and had all the necessary updates until last weekend. Friday I sufferd a hard drive failure and lost everything. Should have backed up stuff!! So now I am trying to get the program back, but since it was purchased before the App Store, it isn't on file for download. The Apple website doesn't support the trial download any longer. It refers me back to the Mac App Store where it is expecting me to pay for it. I sent a support email asking Apple, but they just confirmed that it wasn't available on the Mac App Store. Thanks. Any suggestions?

    David,
Try if this download link for the trial version still works: if yes, you can unlock it with your serial number

  • How can I get Aperture 3.6? For Real!

My IMac hard drive with Maverick crashed 3rd time in 5 years 2 days ago, Apple replaced it, along with Yosemite. Like everyone else I have no iPhoto or Aperture. This is absolutely unacceptable. I am an Artist/Photographer, I have to use both. My website runs off iWeb which runs off iPhoto. I edit photos with Aperture. Aside from losing 4 months of data because of Apple, now they screw me on software I paid for and want to use. I read all the tricks, but my icon is "x'd" out and will not move from the applications folder to the trash bin in order to try to reinstall. I don't believe that would work anyway...The App Store says unavailable in US Store. There has got to be a way to get a copy of this 3.6 since some people have gotten it to run on Yosemite?  I am Livid and Desperate, Please Help!

I read all the tricks, but my icon is "x'd" out and will not move from the applications folder to the trash bin in order to try to reinstall.
Are you signed in from an account with Administrator privileges?
You should be seeing a prompt to enter your admin password when you try to move Aperture to the Trash. Just enter your admin password.
Or try to do this from a new account with Administrator privileges.  You can create a new account from the System Preferences > Users&Groups panel.

  • I am trying to export my FF bookmarks using Organize Bookmarks -- export. However, it is only finding the IE favorites. How do I get it to export the FF bookmarks.

I want to export the bookmarks I see in my FF 3.6 browser. I follow the instructions of Bookmarks--> Organize Bookmarks--> export. However the list of Bookmarks it comes up with is from a Favorites folder that is associated with IE that I have on this computer. Why isn't it finding the FF BOOKMARKS exporting them. Are FF bookmarks just in some folder I can access?
    Thanks

Thanks Cor-el. I will pursue the suggestions at the links you gave. In the meantime, I have intalled the add-in XMARKS on all of my machines to achieve my original goal of getting the bookmarks from my desk top (where I use FF) to my old laptop (where I still use IE). I now have dynamic synching of the bookmarks on all of the machines...at least if it works a advertised.
