How do i get Aperure to reimport photos from cameras

I uploaded some photos from my camera into Aperture but something went wrong and not all the files made it into Aperure.
So I want to try again, but Aperture only lets me import new images that Ive taken since then, how can I get Aperture to show me ALL my photos that are on my camera to let me reimport the missing photos.
(Camera is Powershot SX200 IS)

To prevent such problems and others upload from camera card to computer hard drive using a card reader. Eject the card and then after backing up the pix on the hard drive import into Aperture.

my old computer is broken, so how do i get my music and photos from my iPod onto iTunes on my new computer. It says it can only be synced to 1. but my old 1 is broken.

See this older post from another forum member Zevoneer covering the different methods and software available to assist you with the task of copying content from your iPod back to your PC and into iTunes.

Keep in mind that the recovered photos will not be in their full resolution, but instead will be the scaled down versions that were optimized in size and resolution to fit your iPod's smaller LCD screen.

  • HT201317 i have enabled photostream on my imac but only a small selection of old photos from my iphone have streamed through.  How do i get all the existing photos from both my iphone and ipad onto my iMac?

I have enabled photostream on my imac but only a small selection of old photos from my iphone have streamed through.  How do i get all the existing photos from both my iphone and ipad onto my iMac?

This usually happens because iCloud only keeps photo stream photos for 30 days (even though your last 1000 photos will remain on your phone until deleted).  When you enabled photo stream on your Mac you only received photo stream photos from the last 30 days.
To get older photos to your Mac, create a shared photo stream containing them and invite yourself as a subscriber (see http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mmc0cd7e99).  The be sure you check Shared Photo Streams in iPhoto>Preferences>Photo Stream.  You can then import them to your iPhoto library by opening the shared photo stream album in iPhoto, then going to Edit>Select All, Control-clicking on any of the selected photos and selecting Import.

  • How do I get all of my photos from my photo stream to upload to my MacBook Pro?

When I connect my iPhone 4 to my MacBook Pro only about half of the photos on my photo stream sync into iPhoto. How do I get the photos that don't sync to sync onto the computer?

    http://www.digitaltrends.com/computing/how-to-access-your-icloud-photo-stream-fr om-your-mac/
Before you can access your Photo Stream on your Mac, you’ll need to have it turned on through your iOS device. Once you do, each photo will be automatically uploaded to your Photo Stream, and remain there for 30 days (or until you’ve reached the 1,000-picture limit, at which point the oldest ones will be replaced with newer photos).
To enable Photo Stream on your iOS device, navigate to the main settings panel and select the iCloud option. Then, tap Photos near the top of the resulting menu and toggle on the My Photo Stream option in the middle to enable the feature.
Access My Photo Stream using iPhoto
The absolute simplest way to access your Photo Stream photos is through Apple’s iPhoto. The exact process may vary depending on which version of iPhoto you’re currently running, but the directions below should still work with most incarnations of the native software.
Step 1: Launch iPhoto as you would normally, click iPhoto in the left corner of the application taskbar, and select Preferences from the resulting drop-down menu. Afterward, navigate to the iCloud tab within navigation bar and check the box directly left of My Photo Stream.
Step 2: Click iCloud in the Source List located on the left side of the application window and select the Use iCloud option. Doing so will allow any new photos that you import into iPhoto to be uploaded to iCloud and added to My Photo Stream. Moreover, any photos added to My Photo Stream via your iOS device will automatically be imported into your iPhoto library. Keep in mind disabling Photo Stream on iPhoto will automatically remove access to these photos through iPhoto — though, you can re-add your Photo Stream at anytime.
Access My Photo Stream using a saved Smart Folder
If you’re not a fan of iPhoto, fear not: There is another, slightly more complicated (but still totally easy), way to access your Photo Stream from your Mac.
    Step 1: Open Finder.
Step 2: Click “command,” “shift,” and “G” (⌘⇧G) all at the same time, which will bring up the “Go to folder” option in Finder.
Step 3: Paste the following text into the “Go to folder” field: ~/Library/Application Support/iLifeAssetManagement/assets/sub. Hit “Enter.
Step 4: Click “command” and “F” (⌘F) together to bring up a new search interface.
Step 5: At the top-left of the window, you should see two options after the word “Search”: “This Mac” and “sub.” Click “sub” to highlight it.
Step 6: Underneath that line, you’ll see the word “Kind.” Leave that be. But in the next drop-down menu, change the type to “Image.” Another drop-down menu will appear. Change that one to “JPEG.” Now all your Photo Stream images will show up in the window. (There will probably be some other pictures in there as well. You can tell Photo Stream images because they will have a green check mark on the thumbnail.)
Step 7: Finally, click the “Save” button on the right side, and name the Smart Folder whatever you like. (We’d go with “Photo Stream,” for simplicity’s sake.) Leave the “Add to sidebar” box checked for easy access in the Finder window. And you’re done!

  • I took a video by accident. How do I get just a jpeg photo from it in iphoto'11?

I took a video with my iphone when intending to take just a photo. How do I get a jpeg photo from it in iphoto'11?

When you double click the movie in iPhoto, you can select to open it in QuickTime Player. PLay the movie and advance it to the frame you want. Then either simply take a screenshot (best in full screen view) or select to export your movie fro the web (from the File menu in Quicktime Player). This will create a jpeg as poster frame. Import this to iPhoto.
iPhoto has no built-in option to extract a jpeg from the movie.

  • How do I get firefox to place photos from my e-mails into "iPhoto"??

I had safari before, now have firefox.....firefox will only let me put photos from e-mails into "downloads". I want them in iPhoto, but they will not go from firefox nor from downloads now....unless I switch back to safari and safari is extremely slow and sometimes does not work at all. ????????

You can change where Firefox saves '''ALL''' of your downloads by selecting a folder in the General pane of the Options menu. A step-by-step guide on how to accomplish this can be found [[Startup, home page and download settings|here.]]
If you want to save only certain files to a location, you can right-click on the image and choose "Save Image As...". You will then be able to choose where to save that specific file. • How do I get iPhoto to delete photos from my SD card?

There was a time when I uploaded photos from an SD card into iPhoto, iPhoto would ask if I wanted to delete the images from the SD card after the upload finished. That is not happening any more. I have been through all of the iPhoto preferences and don't see anywhere to select an option to delete photos after an upload is done. I seem to remember there being a check box in the photo upload window I could check to indicate to delete the photos. I am not seeing that check box any more when I upload photos.
I would prefer to delete the images through iPhoto than to use my camera to reformat my SD card.
    I am using iPhoto '11 9.4.3 (720.91)
    Thanks,
    Paul

Trashing the plist file will restore all options to the factory settings, so you should be asked again. That said, it's not wise.
Never let your computer erase data without you first checking that the data is safe. Specifically never use iPhoto (or any other app) to delete the photos from your Camera Card. Disconnect the camera, check the transfer has gone correctly and then use your Camera to Reformat the Card. This has three advantages:
    1. You know your data is safe - because you've taken the time to check it.
    2. Reformatting the card is much, much faster - takes a couple of seconds
    3. Reformatting also refreshes the Directory Structure on the Card, helping prevent issues with the card and prolonging its life.

  • IPhoto repeatedly tries to reimport photos from camera

Every time I plug in my iphone the the compute, in addition iphoto opens and wants to reimport the same photos all over again. How do I stop this?

iPhoto will try importing photos every time you connect a camera. However, it should detect duplicates so that it does not import multiple copies of the same photo.
If you want to avoid that iPhoto opens when you connect iPhone, go into preferences in the "image capture" application, and set "when a camera is connected, open.." to "no application." However, then you manually have to import photos from any camera (as far as I know there is no way to disable iPhoto for iPhone specifically).

If you have Dropbox installed on any computer(s), your photos are already there.  That's the whole point of Dropbox.
Just open the Dropbox folder on any of your computers.  Anything you copy to that folder (directory) and anything you upload to your Dropbox account from any computer in the world, will automatically appear in your Dropbox in all of your computers.

  • How do i get back my missing photos from iPhoto?

i accidentally moved my iPhoto application into the picture folder then clicked on iPhoto and it said create new folder and without thinking i clicked it and all my photos were gone, is there anyway i can get them back? if so how? PLEASE HELP

The panel is showing you the default iPhoto Library that has been created when iPhoto prompted you to create a new photo library.
And iPhoto does not seem to recognise any other library as iPhoto library. You did check the Trash, didn't you?
Search your Mac for other iPhoto Libraries with Find Any File, see Old Toad's post here:
Old ToadAug 24, 2014 5:49 PM Re: Since I updated to iPhoto 9.5.1, my library is not listed or available. How can I find it? Can I use the time machine to restore it?

Download and run Find Any File to search for a file with "ThumbJPGSegment" in the file name. These are files common to all versions of  iPhoto libraries.
FAF can search areas that Spotlight can't like invisible folders, system folders and packages. If there's a library hiding somewhere on your hard drive FAF will find it.

  • I have an iTunes account with my iPhone 3GS.  Today I upgraded to the iPhone 4.  When I plugged the iPhone 4 in to get my music iTunes created a new device.  How do I get the music and photos from the other device?

I would like to delete the new device and just sync the iPhone 4 with all the info that was on the 3GS.

You can get the photos by importing them from your 3GS to your computer (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083) and then syncing them back to your iPhone 4.  Your music should already be in your iTunes library if you have been syncing the 3GS with your computer so all you would need to do is select to Sync Music on the Music tab of your iTunes sync settings and sync your iPhone 4 to transfer it to you new phone.  But there is no way for iTunes to see your iPhone 4 as your iPhone 3GS; it will see it as a different device no matter what you do.

  • How can I get to movies and photos from a dead iPhoto application?

I have pictures backed up..  but the movies that are in Iphoto, have not been backed up (I thought they were).   The data is there and seems to be NON-corrupted, I have Iphoto library manager and it's able to get to the photos.
Launching iphoto drops me into a dead slide show showing no photos or data anywhere..  and no way to get around this dead end on launch.
I've tried re-installing Iphoto application, but I'm sure there must be some library catalog file that's corrupted.  Is this possible?  Perhas there is a way to replace or delete the catalog file?  If there is such a thing.
Any suggustestions would really be appreciated by my autistic son Gavin!
    Thanks very much
