how do i get around admin pass word looked it up on google and process isn't working

Start up of the operating system disc that matches your system (hold the C key whilst starting up) then choose utilties->reset password from the dropdown menu at the top.
Add a new password, reboot, voila.
BTW If you're using 10.5.8 you're in the wrong forum - thats Leopard not Mountain Lion - probably why you got no replies until now.

Here's one method to reset the password without the install disc:
1. boot computer and hold the "apple" key and the "s" key.
2. wait for terminal show
3. release keys
4. type without the quotes: "/sbin/mount -uaw"
5. press enter
6. type without the quotes: "rm /var/db/.applesetupdone
7. press enter
8. type without the quotes: "reboot"
9. press enter
This will let you create a new admin account when you reboot your computer.

Here is a way to get around not knowing the admin password on Macs.
To reset your OS X password without an OS X CD you need to enter terminal and create a new admin account:
   1. Reboot
   2. Hold apple + s down after you hear the chime.
   3. When you get text prompt enter in these terminal commands to create a brand new admin account (hitting return after each line):
          * mount -uw /
          * rm /var/db/.AppleSetupDone
          * shutdown -h now
   4. After rebooting you should have a brand new admin account. When you login as the new admin you can simply delete the old one and you’re good to go again!

You didn't mention which version of OS X your running but there are password reset utilities provided OS X: Changing or resetting an account password (Snow Leopard and earlier) - Apple Support or OS X: Changing or resetting an account password - Apple Support
Alternately you can use an external keyboard to log in and change the password. Make a backup if you don't have one, it's likely that your problems aren't over. If that water continues to migrate downward and fries the logic board your macbook will be toast.

Used Migraton Assist to transfer data from old Dell PC onto new Macbook Pro. Data has come across but cannota access the User Account from the Dell. Check the eBay listing. Did it state the device was Activation Locked? If not, then make a claim as Meg stated and get a refund. You will not be able to activate the phone and no one can help you contact the owner, unless that is the person that sold the device. If they cannot remove the phone from their account because it is not theirs, then refund is your route. Even Apple cannot assist with locating the previous owner.

Where are you resetting the password? On your computer, I assume since you cannot use the iPad?
Have you tried a reset to see if the popup will disappear?
