How do I get at individual pictures in iphoto library?

Hi All,
A few weeks ago I got so fed up of my laptop running so slow because i didnt have enough disk space, that I went out and bought a hard drive. So I started to use time machines, and made moved my whole iPhoto library to the hard drive, and deleted it from my laptop.
Thing is, now I need to access some of the images in my iPhoto library, and I cant restore the whole thing from the hard drive because there is'nt enough space on my laptop to restore it.
What should I do? I want to be able to access/restore around 50 images, not my whole iPhoto library. Is there some way to get at the individual photo's without restoring the whole thing? Please say yes- or else I will not be able to see any images until I buy a new laptop with more memory (which isn't likely to happen anytime soon!!)

You have a library (A) on your external HD and one on your boot drive (B), right? You can use iPhoto LIbrary Manager to copy selected Events or Albums from Library A to Library B. Just open iPLM and add the two librarys to its pane on the left using the Add Library button. Then select the Album/Event in A and drag it to B.

Try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your

3 - reboot, launch iPhoto and try dragging from the trash to the Events icon again.

Verify you are using iPhoto11 ver 9.5
if not run the >Software update or check your apps folder and make sure the correct iPhoto is launched, not an older ver.

Easiest way is to change the storage location to the removable SD card then put that in your other phone (provided it has an SD card slot)
Other options Change storage to SD card then use a computer to transfer to the new phone
Plug old phone into the computer, load the driver and copy them off the old phone to the computer, then plug new phone in and copy them to the new phone
Download JS Backup from the Play store onto both phones (provided the new one is an android as well) then on the old phone use the Device to device transfer method to create a backup, and on the new phone use the device to device import to import the pics.
Whatever you do.... STAY AWAY from Verizon Cloud. Chances are you will never see all of your pictures again and will have tons of trouble getting to them to move or do anything with them. If you want to use a Cloud Storage, get Dropbox on your old phone and new phone, move the pics into dropbox then onto the new phone.

How do I get my old pictures back? They were said to be backed up.

Recently, I synced my iPhone with my old laptop, which contained about 6000 pictures. A few days after that, I reformatted my computer which meant those picture files are only left on my iPhone.
Yesterday, i synced my iPhone with my new desktop (although I only wanted to sync my music), and ended up losing all 6000 pictures that I had. Before losing those pics and during the syncing, I saw that iTunes were backing up my files. Question is, how do I get my old pictures back? =( Please help me. =(

Very sorry, but you cannot get them back from the phone or its backup. Photos synced from a computer _are not_ backed up as part of the iPhone backup process (only Camera Roll pics, those actually shot with the iPhone, are backed up). See this kbase article for info on what is and isn't backed up.
Hopefully, you have an existing backup of the pics on an external drive, etc., or some other way to get the pics back (originals on CDs, prints to scan, etc.). If the pics were still on the phone, 3rd party software could have been used to get them off (although at reduced quality, since pics synced to the phone are reduced to ~0.6 megapixel images).

What's likely happened is that when you transferred the video to the new machine they lost their dates.
Photos use the Exif metadata to record the date and time of the shot. This is quite different from the date and time of the file, which can change as the file is copied from place to place. Video doesn't have Exif, and so iPhoto uses the file date, and that's changed.
Simply, there's no absoultely reliable way to date video.
Try assign dates with the Batch Change command under the Photos menu.

You don't... If you restore the backup, it will restore the restrictions passcode.
Do you have your contacts, calendar, etc, synced to your computer? I'm not asking if you backed up, I'm asking if you synced... In other words, if you open Outlook, or Windows Address Book (I'm assuming you use a PC) are your contacts there?
If you have not been syncing your contacts, etc, you may have to restore so that you can set up the sync, get the contact data off the phone, then set it up as a new phone again, do not restore the backup, and set up the sync with your address book.

Photo stream photos only remain in iCloud for 30 days, even though your last 1000 photo stream photos will remain on your devices until deleted.
