  • I have safari in my iPad but bookmark is not working. I can not book mark any things.  How do I get back my bookmark working so that I can open the web page I have already booked marked.  Thank you for your answer

    I have iPad 2.
The safari bookmark was working yesterday.  Today book mark is not working.  I can not book mark anything.
Did I do anything to prevent stopping bookmark to store?  Please help me how to get back working my bookmark.  Thank you.

    See if this works.
Quit the Safari app completely and reboot the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the recents tray will appear with all of your recent apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • How do I get back my bookmarks and history which disappeared after downloading critical Windows Updates?

On 10/16/14 I downloaded 11 critical Windows Updates (I have the 64-bit version of Windows 7 Pro).
All updates ran successfully, but after the updates, Firefox would not run. Instead I got the error “Couldn’t Load XPCOM”. Internet Explorer was working. I reinstalled Firefox . I did not delete it and then reinstall it, I just downloaded Firefox.
That worked and I can now use Firefox, but I have several other problems:
    • I lost all my Bookmarks
    • I lost some of my History. I can only view history for “Today” and “Yesterday” in the Library. I am missing “Last 7 days” (except for 10/16 and later) and “This Month” history view.
I have been trying to research how to fix this on my own for the past several days, even though I am very non-tech savy.
I tried the following, but none of these things has corrected the bookmarks or history problem:
    • I did a System Restore to 10/13/14
    • I tried to do a System Restore to 10/12/14. I got the error “Did not complete successfully. Unspecified error 0x8000ffff”.
    • I reset Firefox to its default state.
    • I tried to change the Privacy setting for Firefox history from “Remember History” to “Use custom setting for history” followed by checking “Remember my browsing and download history”, “Remember search and form history”, and “Accept cookies from site”. I am unable to change this. It always reverts back to “Remember History”.
I located only one Profile Manager, which I found by going through the Windows start menu with "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" –p.
I found "bookmarkbackups" under my Profile Folder. The oldest bookmark folder listed is from 10/16/2014.
Could someone please help me get all my Bookmarks and History back from before the 10/16/2014 updates? Thank you.

Hi askmozilla, yes, the Previous Versions tab in the Properties dialog for the places.sqlite files in the oldest of those folders.
I'm not sure whether Windows can match that file up with earlier restore points once the folder is moved from its original location to the desktop.
I wonder whether there is any way to access the restore point created on 10/16 just before Windows installed the updates. That really would be the best place to look if possible.

  • How can I get back the title bar in Thunderbird 38?

The title bar can be turned on and off in Firefox. In the current version of Thunderbird (31), the title bar is present by default and there is no option to turn it off. In the beta version (38), there is no title bar by default… but I can't believe that there's no way to get it back. So, where is this setting? I can't find it.

I sure agree that the setting isn't easily discoverable, but that's too late for the 38.0 release given that string freezes went in effect already (the reason being that localizers have to translate all UI elements for their respective language).
The respective [https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=814571 bug report] has been up for more than two years, but thus far not much progress in terms of a solution acceptable by the developers. I don't know if the extension proposed in the last comment was ever developed and posted.

  • How do i get back old bookmarks?

i have a new computer with new hard drive running windows 8. i also have my old hard drive in my computer that has windows 7 installed on it. i can see all the old files and folders in my old drive including the MOZILLA FIREFOX folder. how do i transfer my bookmarks to my new mozilla firefox folder?

You can either copy the places.sqlite file to the current profile folder or restore the bookmarks from the most recent JSON backup (bookmarks-####-##-##_xx.json) in the bookmarkbackups folder.
Note the this replaces all current bookmarks, so if you need to preserve any then make an HTML backup (importing an HTML backup merges the bookmarks).

Did you make a backup of the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder] that is in a hidden location?
If you only made a copy of the Firefox program folder then your bookmarks are gone.

  • Everything on my screen, Mac Pro, shrunk!  Gmail, bookmark pane, task bar menu, even the password sign in. I'm sure I did something with the fingers thing. How do I get back to defaule

Everything on my screen, Mac Pro, shrunk!  Gmail, bookmark pane, task bar menu, even the password sign in. I'm sure I did something with the fingers thing. How do I get back to default.  The font is tiny, tiny.  My operationg system is Mavericks.

Thank you for the list, I will print and keep it handy.
Contol F3 makes my whole screen larager or smaller.
Command option 8 does nothing that I can see.
Command  option + or -  will zoom in or out on the page I am on but if I change windows it reverts.
But bookmarks pane, the task bar, the password sign in and even the post I am writing (actually every printed word), are a font so small I almsost need a magnifiying glass.  This includes web pages too!
    I am using Mavericks.
Trying to retrace my steps when this happened.  Nothing unusual, I was using airplay to watch a You Tube segment on the tv.  I don't think that is related.
I really appreciate your help and comments on this.  I can usualy google and find and answer, but to no avail with this one!

  • How to I get back to the page I was reading after looking at a bookmarked page?

How to I get back to the page I was reading after looking at a bookmarked page? (And, why is "Help" in Adobe products such a useless, time-wasting ordeal?)

If the menu bar is hidden then press the F10 key or hold down the Alt key, that should make the menu bar appear.
Make sure that toolbars like the "Navigation Toolbar" and the "Bookmarks Toolbar" are visible: "View > Toolbars"
    * If items are missing then open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize" or via "Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout"
    * If a missing item is in the toolbar palette then drag it back from the Customize window on the toolbar
    * If you do not see an item on a toolbar and in the toolbar palette then click the "Restore Default Set" button to restore the default toolbar set up.

    Hi Mohammad,
I'm sorry that you have lost your phone.
If you need to erase the personal information on your phone remotely, here are the steps to do that:
    iCloud: Erase your device remotely
If your device is lost or stolen, you can erase the personal information (such as your contacts, email, and music) and settings on that device to prevent anyone else from seeing or using your information.
Important:   Before you erase all the information on your device, try to locate it or play a sound on it. After you erase the information on an iOS device, you won’t be able to use Find My iPhone to locate it or play a sound. You may still be able to use Find My iPhone to locate your Mac after you erase it.
If you erase your iOS device and then find it, you can restore the information on the device using iCloud Backup (if backup was turned on before you erased it) or iTunes. For more information, see the user guide for your device in Safari bookmarks or on the Apple Support website.
To erase your device remotely, you need to have set up Find My iPhone on the device before it was lost.
I hope this information helps ...

  • How do I get back the File Edit View History Bookmarks Yahoo! Tools Help that used to be at the top of the browser window above the taps

how do I get back the "File Edit View History Bookmarks Yahoo! Tools Help" line of text that I could click on for options that used to be at the top of the browser window above the taps

I did that (I think I did) however the confusion is that I get only part of the menu and not the most important menu items like "file" "edit" etc. with all the drop downs. It is so freaky - my other computers have no problem like this and I and show the menu bar or not just like you described. I really doubt anyone really understands my problem with it. I took some screen shots of the good computer version and the bad one so someone can "see" exactly what I am seeing. This may be a one of a kind gremlin issue, LOL. Anyway, without those menu items, I am very limited on the usefulness of FireFox on that computer so I have to rely more on Chrome for those features and use the FireFox with Billeo and other tools that still work. Someday it may magically fix itself, LOL.
Of the two images, one is the good computer and the other is the bad. The bad one shows the only way to see the menu items however they disappear after I am done with the custom menu and no other time can I get the items to "appear" it is like they are there but cannot get them to show when in the normal menu bar mode.

  • Windows 7 does not let me acccess the Mozilla folder to back up my Firefox Bookmarks - how do I get to these bookmarks?

I used to go into my application data folder in windows explorer to get to my Firefox bookmarks so that I can back them up. In Windows 7 access to this folder is denied. I looked in the users folder and in program files as well. I can't find my Mozilla files anywhere. I know you can backup your bookmarks directly from Firefox but I don't know what a json file is and I'm more comfortable with having a readable (i.e. open-able) bookmarks file. How do I get to my bookmarks in Windows 7?

First make sure that you have set Windows to show hidden files - http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Show-hidden-files
If you are still getting access denied messages, this link should help - http://www.addictivetips.com/windows-tips/windows-7-access-denied-permission-ownership/
For info, you want a readable bookmarks file, but the bookmarks file used by Firefox (places.sqlite) is not readable in a text editor, it is an sqlite database file. It is located inside the profile folder - https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Profiles

How can I get back the two arrow icon of isync on my bar? I'm using OS X 10.8.2 . Thanks

You can't. iSync has been discontinued since Mac OS 10.7 Lion. iSync has no connection with iCloud anyway.
