How do I get back to main screen after looking at Downloads?

This such a dumb question, but I've forgotten how to get back to the main screen after looking at downloads.

Close the Download Tab or Window(If you are using some addon) or only change the tab:

The only alternative to what you ask and what sberman tells you is to double tap the home button when you are done with the web and select the mail app from the multi-tasking bar. That will bring you right back to the mail message.

  • I am on NYT website second page , how do I get back to main page as key board short cut

I have gone to another page on website ie NYT or medical journal on web , I have read the article now I want to go back to main menu, Any keyboard short cuts other than back back etc.

''How do I get back to my original page after reading several articles from that page''
    {Mac user}
You've indicated a preference for '''[https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Keyboard+shortcuts keyboard shortcuts]'''. There is no keyboard shortcut to go back a known or unknown number of pages within the same tab without using BACK, BACK, BACK ("Alt+left-arrow" {"command+left-arrow"}). There are a couple of exceptions to this.
'''Suppose NYT is your home page''' and you want to throw away everything in the tab with Ctrl+W {command+W} (was close the window but with tabs that is now close the Tab). So you do that and then you want to reopen your home page use "Alt+Home" {"Option+Home"}.
Another way of doing but without NYT being your home page, would be to make a bookmark with a '''[http://dmcritchie.mvps.org/firefox/kws.htm keyword shortcut]''' such as "NYT:" or "NYT". So you would do exactly the same time as before but instead of bringing up your home page use the keyword shortcut to bring your NYT page. I recommend "'''[https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/add-bookmark-here-2/ Add Bookmark Here ²]'''" extension (60.4 KB) for working with keyword shortcuts and its additional bookmarking features ([http://dmcritchie.mvps.org/firefox/addbookmarkhere2.txt additional documentation]).
If you change your method of browsing to try to keep Tabs with only one level in them then you can use keyboard shortcuts to close each tab after reading it. There are two main methods of reading reading articles. Say we start with a bunch of blogs in a bookmark folder and open that folder into tabs as a starting point.
'''One method''' is to read the main blogs '''without interruption''' except to open links in the background at the far right end of the tabs bar for later viewing (Firefox 2 method). Closing articles when finished and you can check the Back/Forward arrows to be sure you have nothing back or forward in a tab before closing it.
'''The other is to keep interrupting what you are reading''', by opening into a new tab in the foreground and reading that before continuing where you left off (Firefox 3). As with the other method, closing articles when finished and you can check the Back/Forward arrows to be sure you have nothing back or forward in a tab before closing it.
You can read about setting up opening tabs at the far right as in Firefox 2, or opening tabs next to the parent article as in Firefox 3. The Firefox 3 method is going to present problems no matter how you work it, when dealing with sub articles next to the parent or to that of an offspring.
You can read more about opening tabs and [http://dmcritchie.mvps.org/firefox/tab_capacity/001_with_underscore.htm#taborder Order of Tabs in Tabs Bar -- Tests].
Just want to make sure this question was not based on there being no drop-down on the Back/Forward toolbar buttons -- you now use right-click to provide you with the same list as before old stuff on button, new stuff on top (limit of seeing 15 items in list at a time).
You can make '''Firefox 5.0''' look like Firefox 3.6.19, see numbered items 1-10 in the following topic [http://dmcritchie.mvps.org/firefox/firefox-problems.htm#fx4interface Fix Firefox 4.0 toolbar user interface, problems (Make Firefox 5.0, or 4.0.1, look like 3.6)]. • Yosemite: How do I get back from full-screen to original window size?

Okay, so today I used iPhoto for the first time since I reluctantly upgraded to Yosemite on Friday.
iPhoto is one of the few apps I often take into full-screen mode, and so obviously I noticed today that they've kindly taken away the full-screen arrows in the top right-hand corner of the window in Yosemite.
Posting a question about that in Support revealed the 'new improved' way to go full-screen, which is to click on the green traffic light in the top left-hand corner of the window.
Fair enough, but how do I get my iPhoto window back to the size it was before I went full-screen? I tried clicking the green-button again, but that insists on the window being what I call 'maximised', ie. spread across the entire width of my desktop. I want to snap from full-screen back to the window size I had before going full screen.
The arrows in the top right-hand corner used to do that perfectly well, but they're not there any more so I'm having to resort to laboriously re-sizing my window each time, which is far from ideal.
Anyone able to advise me please?

Do we know if it is iPhoto-specific, or do all app windows behave in this way?
Actually, I suppose I could find that out for myself...

  • How do I get back to default screen display after clicking View/Full Screen Display?

After I click View/Full Screen on the Firefox menu bar, I lose the main FF Menu bar. When I hit the esc key, the screen remains locked in full screen view mode. Then I have to reboot my computer to get back to the default FF menu and display mode.

    Try Fn + F11

  • How do I get back my Itunes library after it suddenly disappeared?

Looked at my ITunes library last week to try and make a new playlist but all my years of music/videos etc has disappeared without me doing anything? I have had very bad luck with Time Machine as well and realised not long ago that for 4 years it has only been backing up 'Desktop' and not the whole computer. I backed up all my photos and docs on various DVD's and CD's once I realised but I cant see that I backed up my Itunes library. I am only hoping that on the 'Desktop' external hard drive back ups that I can find it again? If it is on there, how do I get it off as I have heard that you can not retrieve certain items from an external hard drive especially with Time machine although I have never needed to before. Do you think all my songs etc have gone forever now??....Help!!
Im not even sure what version of I Tunes it was. I am running Mac OS X 10.5.8 on a 2008 Macbook

If you didn't knowingly change libraries then it is more likely that your original library file become corrupted and was replaced with an blank copy. It should be possible to restore your previous data as follows.
    Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library as iTunes Library (Corrupt) and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
The images are from a Windows system but the principle is just the same... Depending on when you initially installed iTunes the library files may, or may not, end with a .itl extension. Be consistent with the file that you are replacing.
See MusicFolder Files Not Added and Super Remove Dead Tracks for tools to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.

  • How do I get back into Photomerge Compose after getting out of it?

I used Photomerge compose (Photoshop Elements 13) for the first time and it's a great tool!  But I stopped and got out of it (to make some changes to one of the 2 merged photos) and wanted to get back in and continue using the Hide/Reveal functions on my merged photo, but now I don't know how to get back to doing that.  Trying to start Photomerge again wants me to start from the very beginning.  I'm guessing that I have to do something with layers, but it's not clear how.  Any help? Thanks!

  • How do i get out of white screen after login

How do i get out of the white screen after signing on to my computer.

    Hi GregConk,
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If I understand right, your iMac is only starting up to a blank white screen after you log in. If so, there are some good troubleshooting steps that may resolve this behavior.
First, try booting your computer into Safe Mode, to see if your desktop appears in this mode:
Shut down your Mac. If necessary, hold your Mac's power button for several seconds to force it to power down.
Start your Mac, then immediately hold the Shift key. This performs a Safe Boot. Advanced tip: If you want to see the status of a Safe Boot as it progresses, you can hold Shift-Command-V during start up (instead of just Shift).
Note: A Safe Boot takes longer than a typical start up because it includes a disk check and other operations.
If your Mac starts up as expected, immediately try restarting.
